We contracted with Franey's Carpet One Floor and Home in 2017 and 2018 for installation of…read moreArmstrong Vivero flooring in our home. During the original installation in 2017, the floating-floor product we selected reportedly had manufacturing or fit issues, and we were advised to switch to a glue-down product. Before proceeding, we specifically raised concerns regarding installation over our concrete slab and an existing crack. Following preparation work on the slab, including filling the crack, we were assured that the slab condition was acceptable and that the crack would not become visible through the flooring. After approximately three years, the flooring began experiencing issues including crack showing, plank separation, and lifting. We contacted Franey's in 2021 regarding these concerns and met with a representative. We were told that nothing would be done regarding the crack and that we should call back if the loose planks became a "trip hazard." In September 2025, we again contacted Franey's. During that visit, a handheld moisture meter was used to check for possible moisture conditions. The company ultimately attributed the issues to foundation and moisture conditions and declined responsibility. We requested documentation related to the moisture readings, including recorded measurements and calibration information for the meter used. We were later informed that no formal report, recorded measurements, or calibration documentation existed. We made multiple efforts to resolve the matter directly and professionally, including reviewing the company's proposal and providing several counterproposals, including repair options, prorated replacement proposals, customer installation options, and refund requests. Although the current owner was willing to communicate, we were ultimately unable to reach a resolution. One statement from the company that particularly stood out to us was: "Being upset or disappointed after the fact, is buyer's remorse..." This review reflects our personal experience with the project and the subsequent handling of the matter.

Scheduled a flooring quote for hardwood flooring replacement. Grateful it happened the way it did as I discovered their terrible reviews after the fact. They sent text messages about appointment times and at arrival they say they have a 15 min windows at the time of arrival. I responded 8 min later to a doorbell ring (8:00) that I didn't get a notification. Told them I'm home at 8:08am via text and they didn't respond to the text. I was ghosted. So I messaged the office and They said they can't come back out due to other appointments. I Expressed my concern with the secretary since I had scheduled them into my work day and why do they have 15 min grace periods if they're not going to use it. Cruz didn't have to leave. He didn't even attempt to call me. They called me later in the day and said they wouldn't send anyone back out and would decline giving me a quote. I'm assuming it's based of me telling them it was an insurance quote. As I began to speak I heard the click of it going to a speakerphone (extremely obvious) and I called them out on it since someone more important was listening to conversation. Little do they know insurance has already paid me to replace it nor did I care. The receptionist said they're a small family run company which I gave them the benefit of the doubt, so I provided them an opportunity to have the owner call me rectify the poor communication. Obviously he didn't care cause he didn't call me. I work in a sales industry that involves residential homes. This was an absolute fail, 1/10 in my book. First impressions are often a sign of the standard set by a small business. There's already bad reviews for this company and as you can see, there's other business you should consider before even remotely trusting them with your money. Trust your gut.
