Everett's Liquor store sent all of their customers a message: They would be selling all of their…read moreallocated bourbon on Jan 15, 2022. They invited us to wait in line in order "to conduct the largest one-day sale of premium, highly allocated whiskies the Stateline has ever seen". They promised to release prices and quantities 24 hours before the event. To get clarification, I personally called the store, asking about the pricing ahead of time. The woman personally assured me that "they are very close to MSRP prices" and "we do not price gouge here". So, I canceled my Friday night plans, got together with multiple buddies to wait in line overnight. Some people had already been in line in the below-freezing temperatures for 18 hours when Everett's store released the true list: The full list is attached below. They listed certain bottles over 10x MSRP. A bottle with an MSRP of $49.99 was listed as $500. Each bottle was 3-10x the price that people who were waiting in line expected based on the conversation with the shop. While retailers have the right to charge whatever they would like, they certainly do not have the right to mislead their customers to wait in line for something that can be found cheaper somewhere else. This was misleading, falsely-advertised price gouging. Over 100 people have complained on their Facebook page, and the manager Matt has been nothing but rude leaving comments like this is somehow the fault of his customers. Price examples: Weller CYPB - MSRP $50 - Priced $499 Caribou Crossing - MSRP $50 - Priced $149.99 J Daniels Coy Hill - MSRP $70 - Priced $299.99 Mister Sam - MSRP $250 - Priced $1,999.99

It's a family owned business and I'd love to be able to support it more and shop there for all my needs, but unfortunately, the price point for a full week of groceries is much higher than competitors. I'll continue to use Gray's for those quick, last minute items and hard-to-find items though. I'm very glad this store is here for the horrible weather days, that's for sure! Aside from all this, it could use some love inside, as it feels like a 1960s convenience store--but if that means higher prices, then nah. Lol

I stopped in looking for a Puffco Hot Knife in the specific color that matches my Puffco setup…read more They didn't have the color I wanted, and the ones they did have were priced at $74.99 plus tax, even though the regular Puffco price is around $60. What really bothered me was the way I was spoken to. When I explained that I wanted the matching color, the employee made comments about me being "one of those type of girls" who has to have everything matching and acted like I was being ridiculous over the color. The whole interaction came across as dismissive and condescending. If I'm spending that amount of money on something, I think it's perfectly reasonable to want the matching accessory, especially when I'm paying premium prices. I did purchase some papers while I was there, but I left without buying the Hot Knife. I ended up ordering the exact color I wanted online for $60 plus tax and shipping. I would have appreciated being treated with more respect instead of being made to feel silly for wanting a specific color.

It made me hesitate, and I wasn't sure if it was legit. Despite my concerns, I decided to place an order and see how it went. To my surprise, the process went smoothly right from the start. As soon as I sent the payment, they followed up quickly with a confirmation that the payment was received. I appreciated that communication, because it helped ease my concerns. Shortly after that, they sent a separate email with a tracking number so I could monitor the shipment. Everything felt very transparent, which I honestly wasn't expecting given my initial impression. The products arrived faster than I thought they would, and the packaging was secure and professional. Everything I ordered was exactly what I expected, and the quality was solid. They also offer a wide variety of products, so it was easy to find several items that fit what I was looking for without having to shop multiple places. Overall, although I went into it with doubts, the experience turned out to be reliable and straightforward. I received quick communication, fast shipping, and good products. Based on my experience, I would definitely purchase from this company again and feel more confident doing so next time. If someone is hesitant because of the payment methods, I would say my order went smoothly and the company delivered as promised.

In this overbearing smoking law state of IL he has provided an atmosphere that allows smoking indoors. -He has an amazing selection of cigars, and has always been reasonably friendly with me. I have yet to take advantage of the Hookah bar, so this is more on the cigar end of the business. -My most recent visit resulted in a pretty big spend but he did sell me a very high quality cigar case and humidor kit. Impulse buy, but I'm very happy with it Cons: -There have been a couple of times when I've looked a little sideways at this place. I've not always been convinced that the cigar inventory has been kept fresh to my personal expectations though I will admit I think Jack has gotten increasingly better at this over the years. I have gotten dry stuff before hence the rating, and I strongly suggest carefully inspecting before purchase. -There was a situation where I was nearly dealt a $50 OVERCHARGE. This did not seem to happen with a regular but when you mix up cigars and prices make sure you check the receipt -Price tags especially on the cigars are not always clearly marked (most are however), and it is a royal pain to sort through that stuff. Again why can't these places ever clearly mark by the box? :(
