After an oil change a BMW dealer my e70 X5M was returned back to me with the lighting system error. After being it up to the service advisor, they took the car back in. They came back to me and mentioned that the footwell module had failed and that this was due to an after market screen on my vehicle. They offered to replace it at my expense and it would take up to 45 days to get the part. I declined, very upset at the fact that they took zero responsibility. I at least was looking for an explanation on how that could have happened. Went online and found out that this a known problem for many E chasis BMWs and mine was no exception. I would have love to have hear that from the service advisor and technician. Long story short. Found Bimmerscan on a search for local BMW module repairs, they came up with great reviews, except for one person that gave one star and claimed this place was closed (don't believe that). Bryce was phenomenal in getting my DME, CAS and keys cloned when my bimmer died at high highway speeds. the DME became non functional and would overheat shutting off igntion, injection, valvetronic, or fuel pump. Drove over 50 miles from La to laguna hills, totally worth it. After replacing a relay in my mini cooper the frm went haywire. No brake , turning and hazard lights. Windows stop working. Other shops want me to buy new frm from the dealer and they wil install it. But upon arriving with bryce, after i remove my frm it only took him 15 mins to reprogram. Everything is working again. I read good things about this auto-shop so I also took my chance when our 2013 328i had valve gasket issues. I did my own research and I was prepared to pay north of $400 for repairs. Bryce had his mechanic (Gen) looked into it and I was very lucky that he immediately recognized my car was still under the BMW SULEV 15 years/150k miles warranty. They were very honest and not once attempted to charge me unnecessary repair costs. Instead they advised me to take it to the Irvine dealership where I got the valve gasket fix for free! Awesome place, awesome people, honest people from the get go... I talked to Steve on the phone the day before. Drove the car in the following day, removed the part my self on site, handed it over to them and it took like 15 minutes including a personal demo of the work done. Installed the part in the car on site and all the problems I was having went away (no blinkers, no hazard lights, no dashboard lights, head light wouldn't turn off, and the windows did not roll up or down). I can't thank them enough, after spending the day before at the dealership (Escondido BMW/mini (who suck by the way)) where they wanted $300 to do just the diag of an obvious issue that did not need diag + $562 for a replacement FRM (cuz they wouldn't even look at the old one) plus time to program the new one, + time to remove it and install the new one. This job could have easily been over $1000.00 at the dealer. Anyway, if you have an issue like the one I described above, remove the part and send it to Bimmerscan. Awesome awesome awesome place. My bmw computer (ECU,ECM) was fried. I bought a new one sent both to Bryce at bimmerscan and wow is this guy fast. The day he got it he completed the work needed to be done to mate the new ECU to my car keys and Cass and it would have been sent back to me in the same day but it was a Saturday. He sent it out first thing mon and here it is Weds and I have my ECU. He gave me multiple ways to pay him, he was very friendly, and gave me very good customer service. Words can not describe the level of professionalism from Bryce. I had changed the spark plugs and coil packs on my 2013 BMW M5 F10. After completion of the job, my car's check engine light along with bunch of other warnings came on and the vehicle was not running at all. I contacted the dealership (Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas) which is close to my house and I advised them of what my problem was. The service advisor stated that I would need reprogramming of the two DME computers. I took the vehicle in and after two days the dealer advised me that the car was reprogrammed. I picked up my car from the dealer and noticed that the turbos on my vehicle were not spooling up at all, no power what's so ever. I took the car back to the dealer and after keeping it for two additional days, the dealer advised that the computers on my vehicle were fried and that I needed two DME computers replacement for total of $6,522.47. I knew that something was wrong, that's when I contacted Bryce at BimmerScan. Bryce investigated and discovered that the DME's were not fried and that the computers by the "Dealer" were only programmed partially (40%). Due to old and new software conflict the turbo boost did not work. My car was fixed within few hours of programming the entire computer "properly" by BimmerScan and it is running beautifully. I want to thank Bryce for his professionalism and knowledge of BMW cars. I would never take it to the dealer again for anything.
