OMG the spot was wonderful. This family owned business caters to all your eating desires. The owner is also the chef and you will be pleasantly surprised. A must for locals, and for tourists like me a spot to be added to your app. We'll be back! read more

I LOVE this place!!! Blood Sausage gets me every time! So good! We've been here a couple of times and are never disappointed by food or service... and especially not the desserts! That's where we get into trouble! The roasted milk is my absolute favorite! The Tres Leche is my absolute favorite! The flan is my absolute favorite! The cookies too! Traditional Columbia's food! Go check them out! read more

Real Columbian food, beverages, and vibe. This place is heaven to your Columbian tastebuds! It's spacious, and priced well. The menu is simple to understand, the juice options are phenomenal and very expanded. The price is fair, you don't have to break your pockets to eat well! Chicarones, and carne asada were good! read more

We ordered Paella for 2. A LOT of rice, 2 mussels and 4 squid rings and few shrimps. For $31 dollars, I expected a bit more. They charge 25 cents "carryout fee". I guess it's for the styrofoam. When you're paying $18 for a dish to go, paying the fee is offensive and insulting. It's not about the money. It's the principle. Doubt we will return. read more

We will not have to eat the rest of the day. The portions are huge. The food is delicious!! The service awesome. I could not be more happy with my first trip here. Can't wait to have my pear turnover tomorrow. The bakery has great treats! Come here you won't be disappointed! read more

After reading yelp reviews and checking out the menu, I knew my heart would be filled with joy by going to Bitu's. Upon arrival my friend and I were seated promptly and given menus. 5 minutes passed and we went through wanting everything...no server came by. 15 minutes still no service....about 20 minutes passes and all servers ignoring us I finally had to verbally grab their attention. I asked if it was because my friend and I were black that we were forgotten about. I said several waiters looked our way and never came to our table. We were not seated around anyone. They put us in a section by ourselves and seated everyone else on the other side. I felt segregated and discriminated against. All our server said was that was wrong. He was friendly but certainly dropped the ball. Not sure if I will return. I felt because I did not look of speak spanish I was singled out at the restaurant. The food was great but the service was terrible!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I live near this place and I always drive by and see there's people going in and out so I gave it a try. I ordered some empanadas online because their reviews were great but I made a request to get cheese in my beef empanadas and they didn't put cheese. Another star was taken off because the empanadas were sooo much smaller than expected. They're cheaper and bigger at the puerto rican place I tried. read more

Very much enjoy this restaurant. The prices are very good for the amount of food you receive. Portions are fairly large. More importantly the taste was outstanding. I've not ran into a place with more authentic Colombian cuisine since Miami. Some of the wait staff struggle with English so exercise some patience, no reason to get your feathers ruffled and miss out on a fun dining experience. We've gone at lunch and breakfast now and each time the service and food was excellent. The Goat stew was delicious and bursting with flavor. The restaurant is tucked in a strip mall off Newtown ... check it out. read more

yummy and authentic arroz con pollo is to die for, also enjoyed the corn beef and chicken empanadas!

5 stars for this Colombian restaurant that exceeded my expectations! While visiting from Florida, we were looking for something more diverse that the typical Mexican, Japanese, and Italian spots, so my cousin recommended Bilu's. I knew it was going to be good, because my is not usually adventurous with trying different cuisines, but she absolutely loves this place. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately as we seated ourselves. Shortly after, our server was at our table taking our drink orders and going over the menu. I ordered the chicarrones, salchipapa, and the fried snapper. The chicarrones were fried to perfection I like mine very crispy and that's exactly what I got. The salchipapas were delicious as well. The fries were hot and the sausages were flavorful. Lastly was the main dish...fried red snapper! The fish was fried to perfection and seasoned very well. This was my first time trying a whole fried red snapper and it amazing! Not only did it taste great, but it was super affordable. My sister and cousin loved their meals as well. One had grilled steak and the other had grilled chicken. The food was wonderful, service was superb, and the ambiance was great. They also have a small bakery with a bakery case that will make your mouth water. We were all too full for desserts, but I will definitely order one next time I'm in VA. We agreed that this will be one of our go-to spots when we are up there visiting. Reminded us a little of FL. read more

At the beach for a concert and looking for something good to eat. Saw this place and immediately got excited because I love to try different Latino cuisines. The host was friendly but that was about it. When we're seated and handed menus, we waited for at least 20 minutes while others who came in after us were helped. The host eventually decided to come back after making eye contact multiple times and asked had we been helped yet. We counted several servers walking by and no one had even offered us water yet and we honestly felt discriminated against. They even sat us on the opposite of the restaurant separate from the others coming in. The host did end up apologizing and having to take our order and ended up being attentive throughout the time there. The food ended up being great and I've never quite had coconut rice like that before. I just wish the service was as good as the food. read more

Food was not good. Friend ordered a plate and she did not like it at all, so she complained to our waiter named Eimar and his response was well that's how the food is made. My friend was so hungry she ate the food and he came back to say "well I guess it wasn't too bad". Bad service bad food. read more

I have recently learned of this cuisine and it's availability in Hampton Roads. The #1 rated Colombian restaurant on this site was closed as they had a gas issue, so we decided to check this one out right down the road. The food was OK, but I found myself comparing it, and Bilus just didn't quite stand up to it's competition. Nice interior and decor, and service was decent, but the food just wasn't as good. Also the lunch special prices were higher. I had the chicken salad. The chicken was barely seasoned, and the lettuce seasoning I have come to love about Colombian salads was lacking as well. I also tried the chicken empanada, and have come to realize Colombian empanadas just aren't the same Mexican empanada I crave from CA. The dough is heavy and the filling seasoning is lacking, no sauce. My suggestion is to stick with the #1 rated Colombian restaurant on here. read more

Found this place on the way home from my daughter's gymnastics class. I love Hispanic cuisine so I talked my wife into going. Glad we did. We arrived at 11:00am so it wasn't busy. The place is new, very clean and well appointed. The layout is set up so that you can have large or small groups. There's even a small three seat table in the back by the kitchen if you want, that is completely separated from the rest of the restaurant. The wait staff was friendly, and pleasant, attentive without being annoying and very helpful to my two children who had multiple questions as to what certain items on the menu were. We had the empanadas (beef and chicken) as an appetizer... AWESOME! Even my picky kids devoured them. I had the House special, Bilu's Bandejas (there's a pic posted), the food was delicious and this particular item gave me a good cross section of their menu. (Steak, pork, rotisserie chicken, Columbian sausage, and Churrascos with rice, egg, avocado and their house beans.) It was great and well priced. One warning: PORTIONS ARE HUGE. be prepared to eat. Fountain beverages (Pepsi products) are free refill and they also have the standard Hispanic import fruit juice, and sodas. The full bar is small but has everything that you could want. Finally there is an in-house bakery that puts out some really amazing dishes. We ordered the Tres Leche Cake which was pretty good. I've had better but not by much and that was in Mexico. All in all, it was a good experience and we'll definitely be returning. read more

Well my experience at first wasn't too good. The waiters forgot about us and we had to sit and wait while they all talked. Then when they finally brought our food out they were missing half the order... But I don't even care about any of that after eating that food. Man was it amazing! The chicken was moist and beans were very flavorful. The amount you get for what you pay is also great, very generous portions!! My total was a little over $14 for half a rotisserie chicken, rice, beans, and an extra side of avocados, plus a soda. I had plenty leftovers for the next day. Sounds like a great deal to me! read more

Still one of my favorite places to go to. The beef empanadas are hands down my favorite thing here! The other thing that I love are the cookies! This is an authentic Colombian restaurant, the recipes are not Americanized but they preserve the real flavor. The food is awesome and it is really hard to choose what to eat because everything is delicious. My husband and I visited for dinner, we been to El desorden across the street, which is great. But wanted try Bilus As soon as we got there, we where seated. The waitress brought the menu and drinks, then..,waited and waited for her to take my order, another person came ( I guess the owner sister) second waitress, she took our order, brought our food. Our primary waitress never came back. After a while of needing a refill finally the second waitress came by and I asked for refills, 5 min later she's too busy talking with all the guys at the bar, no drinks! Almost 10 min I got up to the bar with my glass and my husband, I was totally ignore by her, till a young man ( Kennet) asked if I needed help, finally got my drinks! Than the primary waitress finally checks on us ( now that I need nothing) I asked for bill ( second waitress) again she forgot! Talking to the guys at the bar!! Again! Kennet to our help! Asked her to give us the bill.., anyways, the service ridicules! I did not enjoyed my food because of the terrible service, even tho it was good. That's the only reason I am even giving 2 stars. Def will keep going to El Desorden instead. But thank you Kennet for actually caring about your customers. read more

I ordered the Pollo Asado like I had in the past. Brought it home and before I took a bite my family members commented, "Don't eat it, it has a gasoline aftertaste. I took a bite and also found the same taste. I called to complain and was the person answering the phone was very defensive and said, that nobody had made a complaint all day. She kept insisting that nothing could be done but finally relented and said they would replace the Polo I brought. When I brought the Pollo back to the restaurant, I could feel and sense the daggers pointing at me for bringing the pollo back. Instead of replacing the pollo with another order, the cook felt that it would be better if I got my money back. I would have expected more apologies along the lines that the food was not satisfactory. Instead I got cold stares. read more

Probably one of the best places ive eaten in virginia beach...A MUST. Great authentic food. Awesome small place to enjoy some great food

Highly recommend their chicken, seasoned and charred just right! And in the bakery, their guava and cheese pastries and delicious!

Probably not one of my favorites! I walked in no one greeted me, so I sat down and watched the owner and workers just walking around and never even asked if I needed a menu or even acknowledged I was there. (I know they saw me I was right in front of the) Finally. I just grabbed myself a menu went to the register waited and finally was able to place a Togo order. I ordered the house special I really don't remember what the actual name of it was. My meal was very bland and I didn't really enjoy it. I probably will never return. read more
