I am going to post this review on both the Ocean Springs and D'Iberville Post Offices sites…read more Our home is pretty much the same distance from either post office, so we have used them both about equal in the past; no longer. I'll go to Ocean Springs PO in a pinch or to drop off a letter, but given my choice, I now much prefer the D'Iberville PO. At the D'Iberville PO, you usually get a smile; you always have their full attention, and they give you thorough, complete information and suggestions on how to save on shipping. They look you in the eye when talking to you, and they treat you like a person, like a customer. More often than not, I leave there smiling. At Ocean Springs, the best I can describe it is that it is like dealing with a KIOSK machine. There is no human interaction, no helpful suggestions; you only get information if you know exactly what to ask; you are just as likely to get a shrug or a blank stare. Polite human interaction is not difficult; making another person, a customer, feel OK is not tough. Having worked in customer service for over 40 years, I know something about it, and it is not difficult to send your customer away feeling good about the experience. Now, Post Masters, when you start to blame your employees, stop and look in the mirror, for that is where the blame, or credit, begins!

Tada! It's the post office! It's works just like it's supposed to. Nice self service area right…read moreinside the front doors. You can go through another set of doors on your left to get in line for a person if that's what you need. They didn't have any cool postage stamps. So that was disappointing. I bought some boring ones anyway. Yippie!

If you don't have a mailbox but want to have a secure delivery, you can mail your items here and pick up will cost you around $10 an item, which is a good deal if you can't wait at home to sign for an expensive/important item. This is a small town, and the people remember you. My guy gets a phone call when his packages arrive. I've picked up packages for him and the first few times they would call him to confirm or he would call them to give them a heads up that I'd be collecting the packages. Now they know me by sight! They are very quick to help customers. I've walked in with a handful of other people ahead of me and someone was quick to get my boxes and get me out of line while those ahead of me finished filling out packaging forms, taping boxes, etc. Very efficient and friendly!

I would rate ZERO if I could. Store hours said closing at 2:30 pm on Saturday 1-31-26. I arrived…read moreat 2:26. I was told by a woman who was not waiting on anyone at the time that they would only take packages that were prepaid. I asked at what time they closed to customers. She said 2:30 so 2:25 was the cut off. Since I had two packages (which were wrapped and ready with address labels) that I needed to pay for I would have to come back Monday because they close at 2:30 and she could not help me. Closing time should be posted as 2:25 online, on the door, etc and doors locked if you cannot mail a package after 2:25. In the time it took her to rudely turn me away, I could have paid and been gone before 2:30. Now my packages are delayed another 2 days. Horrible customer service D'Iberville! Additional note- There were two ladies working. One was helping someone else, so this is review is directed at the very rude one who was not.

This shaded building once hailed as a train station; remains in that style as a architectural gem. In fact as I was taking a photo of the welcome sign...a long train whistled and rumbled by; the porch deliciously shook in response. Detected the building serves three purposes well 1) A separate retail art boutique called Realizations 2) The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce 3) The (public) Ocean Springs Main Street- Tourism Bureau Inside are prolific but tasteful examples of local art. (Please see my photos and tips) Enter, and stop at the video kiosk for a full color brochure. Turn left for the water fountain and a public bathroom (resplendent w art). Or, you can turn right and enter the guidance portion of the visitor center. The high counter (see picture) reminded me of where days of old a ticket master's workstation would be. This small but functional room serves you and any little ones traveling with you well. Brochures line the left side of the room and interesting local art, some tall, fill the space. Center on the floor is a kids visitors table. (How cute and thoughtful) Sign in and ask questions about this interesting Main Street town. (Always sign in, it's a nice thing to do; as it helps the town gauge the flow of traffic to plan outreach for next year) For the Record: This town is a good non beach day kinda place to visit.
