In fact, that was THE ENTIRE REASON I drove out of my way to get to the lodge! Further, on arrival, I asked at the front desk to confirm the appearance of that performer and was told that she would be there! Guess what? A couple of hours later, when the restaurant opened there was NO live entertainment! I had gone to the trouble of finding the place and asking at the front desk ahead of time about that singer! My jaw dropped when the restaurant hostess said the performer would be there the following night - NOT tonight! Somebody in management had made a mistake and I was paying the consequences! I was stuck because earlier at the front desk after being given the CONFIRMATION that the singer was scheduled to be there, I immediately made a dinner reservation AND a reservation for a room! They already had my credit card information and the whole unhappy situation cost me $276! Afterwards, a manager was unsympathetic and trivialized my experience! There was no compensation and I very much felt the victim! In short, I didn't receive what I had been told I would receive! Shame on Gateway Lodge!! Be wary that something similar could happen to you. I discovered that at Gateway Lodge you can't count on getting what they say you'll get! Might that be true with other amenities you're promised?
