It's a simple concept, everything on sale either costs a pound, or is two for a pound etc (should really be 98p following the VAT cut but 98pland doesn't have the same ring to it). There's a bit of everything from batteries to toiletries and stationary to food. Mostly it's reasonable quality and you'll find a few well known brands mixed in. Worth a look if you're passing, you'll more than likely find something you need and it won't cost the earth.

On occasions the staff in Poundland Llandudno aren't too friendly or responsive to Hello at times as well, which to a customer is a bit off-putting and insulting. They tend to treat you like cattle passing through a disinfectant dip. I have to disagree that Poundworld in Colwyn Bay sells a lot of junk ~ I've been there on occasions and there are a lot of good bargains, though again some more expensive than the stores mentioned above, and as it sells similar items to Poundland Llandudno the"junk" comment reflects on both stores unfairly. At £1, no-one expects the same quality as £10 £15 but most items will suffice very well in the short term. It comes down to common sense and most shoppers have a good amount of that these days!

It's also a bit out of the way compared to other bookshops in town and because of this it's easy to forget it's even there. If you do manage to remember to go there then you might find a bargain or two but often they have the same books you'll find for the same price in Bookwise or Publishers Book Clearance. Finally you'll often find the books are a bit weathered, clearly the sea breezes and salty atmosphere have an effect on paper. It's still worth the odd browse though.

It's a nice, bright shiny shop but I found it a bit expensive. The first display on entering the shop was a rack of t-shirts which were on a buy one get one free offer. Sounds good except that the t-shirts were £23 each. There are places in Llandudno where you can buy four perfectly adequate t-shirts for that price so unless you have a real deisre to have the word Trespass emblazoned across your chest I'd look elsewhere for casual clothing or at least wait for the sales to start.

Aldi in Llandudno is located on a corner of the Mostyn Champneys Retail Park next to Argos. It's a…read morewell known discount supermarket and once upon a time I used to do my shopping there. I don't go there too much these days as didn't think the quality was always as good as it could be, especially the fresh fruit and vegetables which always seemed to go off a bit too quickly. I'm also not convinced it's all that cheap, at least not for what I buy. It's worth the odd look now and again though as they seem to get completely random items of non-food stock so you never know what you'll find.

JD Sports have had a small, cramped store on Mostyn Street in Llandudno town centre for quite a few…read moreyears. They now have a second, more spacious, store on the Parc Llandudno retail park. It's reasonably flashy inside with lots of mirrors to confuse you as you browse. Downstairs is devoted to clothing and there's also a upstairs with a wide range of trainers. They stock a typical JD Sports range of mid-range, moderately expensive brands like MacKenzie, Fila and Fred Perry. Ultimately it's all a bit more expensive than the Sports Direct store on the adjacent Mostyn Champney's retail park but probably more trendy, although I'm now too old to be a reliable judge of fashion ;-).

BUNCH OF SCAM ARTISTS!!…read more Ordered a replacement for a faulty pair of stupidly overpriced trainers almost a month ago now and I still haven't received the replacement, and JD Sports are refusing to do anything to help as the replacement was signed for by somebody else! They also removed my comments from their official facebook page and blocked me from messaging them. To be fair though, the staff at the store were a lot more helpful than any of JD's customer service staff I've spoken with over the phone and via email over the last few weeks, but they were still unable to help me recover my item nor were they able/willing to return the original faulty item. So, now I am £95 out of pocket. #AVOID #JDSports

The Colwyn Bay branch was first to open in my neck of the woods but the Llandudno branch, located on the Mostyn Champneys Retail Park, is bigger and therefore has more choice. Basically they sell a bit of everything from food to toiletries to homeware to clothes. Some items are permanently stocked but there are always things that appear breifly never to be seen again so you'll always find something new when you go there. Unlike a lot of bargain shops a lot of the stock is made up of well-known brands and usually the food and drink items have reasonable use by dates. What makes it worth a visit however are the prices which are often a fraction of supermarket prices. If you've never been you have to give a try, I guarantee you'll be hooked.

I never fail to spend far too much here as there are so many Bargains to be had, from Health and Beauty products, Homewares, Food and Drinks and Gifts there is something for everyone. Its a great place for everyday bargains and they sell named brands aswell as lesser known brands so you know your getting quality products. I'm not ashamed to admit that most of my Home Furnishings are from Home Bargains, they always have a great range of modern pictures and prints aswell as bedding. Another bonus is the great parking facilities - always a space nearby.
