I did have another Dr. for a year that I really liked, but the last half of my time there has been a high turn over. I make an appointment to establish care and before my follow up arrives, the Dr. has left. This creates a situation where you don't know your Dr. even worse, they don't know you. At one point I was assigned to a new Doctor without my input and given an appointment without my knowledge. I asked the person that called who did this and they said it was the board of directors. I informed the person I did not want the Doctor they put me with, nor did I appreciate an appointment being made without my input or knowledge. I picked another Doctor and before my appointment came that Doctor had left. I picked another Doctor and after the first visit I was like this Doctor wasn't listening and unrealistic about things and before I could get a follow up or schedule with a different Doctor he too left HMS. Minus my first 4 years here I have been through 6 Doctors in 7 years. Most of the providers I liked with the exception of the last one, but there is no continuity of care. During COVID they came out with a new check in system using a tablet. It isn't user friendly the screen doesn't respond or responds improperly to inputs and I end up visiting the ladies at the reception desk. Not only that, but let's have everyone that is sick keep touching the same tablet. I asked a receptionist who checked me in in less than 30 seconds who's dumb idea it was and was told, the board of directors. I have needed urgent appointments and often been told that i would have to drive to a clinic out of town for care. Even routine appointments sometimes they try and send me out of town. If i have to guess who my provider is or drive an hour to go to another clinic, i may as well drive to Las Cruces or even Tucson to get better care and a regular Doctor. I believe HMS is unable to maintain staff, good staff, maintain continuity of care, and are out of touch with the needs of the community and patients. I think it is time to switch clinics.

He completely changed my psychiatric medication without even getting a full evaluation), and handed me the phone. The woman on the other end said these exact words "so, you want suboxone, right? No...No!!!! I called because you folks at HMS have nearly destroyed my entire life. I call and leave messages for Nicole and she does not call me back. This is the kind of place that seems to employe ignorant and unfriendly, uninviting and condescending people who will treat you like pathetic junkie. I asked Nurse Practitioner Omega if he was actually a doctor (everyone calls him "Dr. Omega") , I figured he was an actual Doctor since he took some of my medications away completely. I've had to cut my pills into quarters and suffer through insane withdrawal. So bad that I've gone to the hospital twice! But...HMS....forgot that I am their patient... The young woman who hung up on me today should have shut her mouth while I spoke. She should have listened to me from the beginning of the conversation as opposed to speaking over me louder and louder until I HAD ENOUGH! My entire world has been flipped upside down. I know what it feels like. I spoke with 2 different women. Joanna said the p.c. is completely booked but suggested I come to the walk-in-clinic in the same office as the pc. She then transferred me to April who put me on hold to see if they needed a chest x-ray first. April came back on the line and said no to the chest xray, but I'd need to register downstairs before coming up to the clinic. Registration had to reenter all my info because they "got a new system and some stuff didn't transfer". That took 10 minutes. Once I was registered they asked why I was there. When I told them I was told "we don't take breathing problems in the clinic. You have to go to ER." My son has been to this ER twice in the past week for the same thing - he has asthma and heart problems. The first time he was told it was walking pneumonia and was given a couple scrips which didnt help and he was back there 5 days later. The second time he was diagnosed with asthma exacerbated bronchitis and given 3 scrips, stronger than the first 2. 2 days later he is still no better and considering driving over an hour to a real hospital with real doctors. This place IS NOT a hospital. It is a clinic with an emergency room and a few beds for anyone who might be helped there rather than being sent an hour or two away. Employees come and go like the tide and the "new system" excuse has been used for many months now. We are seriously considering moving to a place that has REAL medical care. T or C does not.
