It is more of an outdoor patio sweating where there is a big open area for the public to access to hang out with friends to enjoy some food or drinks. You may see many corporate or business personnel people, but it is still a cool place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong as well as after shopping at the IFC Mall. The view is fantastic as you can see across the harbor and enjoy the fresh breeze during a relaxing night in Hong Kong. Came here during the night, and it was pretty packed. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable atmosphere, because of the nice view, as well as the DJ playing music that was alright as well. It was not overly loud where you would not be able to hear each other converse. However, seating is self service, so make sure you find a spot and a few seats if you are in a group. It is pretty crowded during peak hours but nothing too much. It make take a while to find a table and seat but keep a look out for one or you may stand around. After find a table, we ventured our way to the ordering counter. Line is not too long and goes by pretty quick. After ordering, you are given buzzer and just have to wait for your order to be called. I had ordered a RED Burger 1/2 lb Beef and a bottle of Sol Beer. The burger was definitely very fulfilling, and my cousin ordered mine with blue cheese which was not bad at all. The beef was very tender and cooked just right. It comes with fries as well. Super meaty meal and I was definitely very full, and with the beer it was just perfect. It was about $13 USD for the burger but what can you ask with a nice view and fun place to hang out. Location: its on top of the IFC Mall, service was good as well, and atmosphere was awesome. Definitely a great place to enjoy a drink and nothing beats a cold beer while enjoying the nice view of Hong Kong at night. Food was good and is the same as any other bar or restaurant so nothing too much. Perfect place to chill and hang out with some friends, and also be able to see across the harbor and the view of the ICC with its light show. I enjoyed my night here! Beer and burger awesome!

You've got the classy, upscale restaurants and the classy, upscale people in their fancy dresses. Then you have bars like Geronimo (and the adjacent bar, Maharani Mess) that are there for one thing and one thing only: getting you drunk! They've got a whole bunch of 2 for 1 deals and $40 drink deals. During happy hour, the price is almost half. If you're like one of the many night owls that descend upon LKF well after happy hour, for the after dark happier hour, then you'll likely find the drinks still within reasonable range. Drinks and shots usually range from $70-$90. There's also the infamous 15 shot challenge ($600 on weekdays, $1050 on weekends), that I didn't know was a thing in Geronimos all around the world (didn't even know there was more than one Geronimo). Drink 15 different shots and get your picture plastered on a wall. Do it in record time and your name goes up on a plaque. The bartenders are really nice. One of them chatted with us over the bar for quite awhile. I know, I know, it's their job, but he also gave us a round of "Cookie" shots (actually tasted like cookies) on the house, so yes, I like that guy! Another unique shot worth trying that isn't on the menu is the Ribena, based on the popular blackcurrant syrup in HK. Of course, the most important part after getting a little tipsy is how well you can dance, and Geronimo's got you covered with good music. The vibe is energetic but laid back so it's the perfect place to chill. Not only that, it's got TVs for when you want to catch the game, and a balcony looking out over the street for when you want to drunkenly brood over your ex. (72/100) - 2017

I had a beautifully crafted old fashioned and my companion had a perfectly chilled Martini. The spirits list is quite respectable, and they have good drink specials: one night it was 2 for 1 top shelf scotch. The most impressive thing, though, was the service. Hanging out here on a Tuesday night may showcase how relaxing it is compared to a raunchy Thursday night, where only ladies are given a free cocktail to kick off the night. Friday and Saturday nights can get so crowded that people will inadvertently grope each other just to get to the door. Timing is really everything. The bar scene along Wyndham is already competitive enough as it is, so Tonic might serve as a good spot to score a few drinks before moving on. Happy Hour is the best time to enjoy 1/2 off all drinks and it's before the bouncers come rolling in. There is no cover charge either, until later in the night(s) when the place goes from chill to kill (me). Service also falls into the "your mileage may vary" category, as I've encountered some super friendly hostesses and solid bartenders vs DBag bouncers and apathetic managers. They will on certain nights employ a decent DJ, and while the space feels clubby at times, it conflicts with the loungey vibe. Drinks like anywhere along Wyndham are pricey. Thank goodness they take credit card, but don't go overboard with the bottle service either. There are other clubs who handle the scene much better, but then again, Tonic is less of a club and more of a drinking hole for all groups.

A touch of Irish conviviality combined with the vivacious Lan Kwai Fong energy, Rula Bula is one of the more multifaceted venues in the hood. With it's wide interior and open layout, it is an easy option for large groups. The dance floor is solid in the wee hours, even if the DJ isn't always good at revving up the crowd. There is a nice lounge space around the corner from the bar and the front area is perfecting for observing the drunken spirits wandering on Lan Kwai Fong street. The bar itself isn't especially impressive, but it's nothing short of lively, especially on the weekends. On those nights the bar is stacked with bartenders who are furiously mixing drinks left and right. The cocktails lack sophistication (read: slightly watered down) but stick with simple concoctions and the options will fare much better. Prices aren't cheap in this neck of the woods, but that is to be expected in LKF country. I usually end up purchasing enough to merit a spin on their wheel, which will ultimately earn myself or my group a free drink of some kind. While I haven't yet had to pay cover, I have seen some well dressed bouncers at the door lately. I am usually here with good company and less about the drinks / music. The bonuses are the ventilation (which is quite good for a place with open windows) and the lesser tendency of dbaggery. In the end, this place serves as a pseudo after hours destination for many LKF'ers, and for that, Rula Bula is a solid spot to keep the night going.

It started off as a venue to go and meet all you friend groups in the wee hours of the morning. It made sense because of the open spaced design of the place, the good music, and the affordable drinks. Basically the place is a giant square with a bar, some benches and a DJ booth. Half of it is used for sitting/not dancing while the other half is for those that can't hold back from the rhythm of the night. That's a massive advantage in LKF where every other bar is split up into sections the size of a closest interlinked with shoulder-width corridors. I enjoy it there, even if it is a bit on the crowded side, it's easy enough to pop out onto LKF's streets for a bit of "fresh" air. What you may not know about Rula Bula is the fact that it's also a great place to go during the day. By day I mean 5 and onwards. At around this time it's transformed from a sea of bodies, flashing lights and dark corners to a well lit, spacious, bar perfect to hang out at after work with a couple of friends. The giant open windows, the wooden benches, and the overall decor of the place give you the feel that you are on a terrace somewhere - except with a constant stream of taxis driving by. It's the perfect place to lose track of time, a sure sign that Rula Bula is doing something right. If you haven't been to Rula Bula between 5pm and 7pm I'd suggest giving it a visit. You can return later on in the night nothing with full certainty that some you know will be there, slouched in the corner or killing it on the dance floor.

The good thing about Alabar is that you can sing in Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and just about any language you want to all night long until 5 or 6AM. The bad thing is it gets so crowded on the weekend with other drunks trying to get the mike that you become sober waiting unless you spend rots and rots more money on bad alcohol. When to go: Any week night the place is dead. Crowd: Mostly alcoholics then after 2AM, those trying to still find a special friend to go home with or convince to go home with that they brought. So, not really a pick up bar. Type: It's an older crowd. How to go: Kinda like Vegas or Macau, bring a limited amount of cash and order bottles. If you order cocktails, the bar men will make up prices and the more hammered you are, the higher the price. So set your limits. Decor: This is a dark bar that when they turn on the lights to make you leave you realize the flooring is teeming with it's own life form. The decor is a lounge bar, 2 tier, and gaudy. The karioke system works well. Speakers all over so you will NOT miss any songs sung badly, off tune, by anyone. It's an open mike. Who to go with: heh heh heh, see comment on Crowd above. Most people go with someone they are already hanging with for the night or go to close the deal. Others like me, just wanna sing. I used to practice my 3 karioke songs there on a week night until the bar manager got ticked off with me and said: Poreeeeseee sing something else!!

They played K-pop multiple times which was surprising but not at all unwelcome. I love K-pop, and this will be one of the few places on the internet that I will admit that. They played a lot of dance-friendly music in general. They had a wonderful drag queen show in between the moments of dancing. Along with the interesting music was an even more interesting crowd. We encountered some white foreigners asking my friends for drugs. Meanwhile I lost track of my coworkers in the big venue as they were running around trying to meet new people.
