Pay you admission of $2 on a Sunday night. No band or DJ, BTW. Go for the history, or just go to dance, just don't go for the food! We went with very high expectations for dinner. They were out of baked potatoes and mashed potatoes. I ordered a chicken fried steak with their potato salad and fried okra. Waitress brought it out, no gravy. So I asked for gravy that comes standard on chicken fried steak, and she came back stating they were out of that too! I was offered ranch dressing. I consider it bad service I wasn't told ahead of time, and not offered a different choice. I choked down the meal, and will never go back to eat there nor can I recommend the restaurant at Billy Bob's Texas. read more

Billy Bob's workers are plain mean. My 19 year old friend tried to soberly get in, and they denied her only because they didn't like her. Our other underage friends had gotten in, she was the only one not let in. They then assaulted her, trying to carry her out when she had agreee to leave civilly if they had given her that option. A female bouncer was supportive until her male boss came out trying to defend herself. A blonde female manager was very kind to us, and she is the only one who wanted to hear out our story. The original bouncer came back out and tried to call the police on us. They were mean and not understanding. This is absolutely ridoculous and unacceptable. read more

Went here with a customer, can you say mediocre. We came at about 9:30 on a weeknight and the place was empty. They started pushing us out as soon as we got there. In CT there isn't much to do for rodeo folks like me (I once threw a rope around a horse which had escaped its owner, presumably heading to the glue factory) so I thought I would satisfy my curiosity and Meander into Billy Bobs. Look, I've been a fan of billy bobs since...forever. But after attending Miranda Lambert's concert, where I spent $300 on two tickets so I could be "closer" to the stage (I was at the second to last table at the far back) I have decided to never go again. It wasn't the price of the tickets because I will gladly spend that much money on seeing any one of my favorite artists, it's the fact that no one was allowed to stand, or dance or do anything that involved NOT sitting down, during the concert. I'm sorry, but if I'm attending a concert, I full heartedly expect to be able to stand and wave my arms around while screaming and singing at the top of my lungs, while jumping up and down. Sitting down and not getting up is NOT how you enjoy a concert and it's CERTAINLY not worth spending $300 for. I was told to sit down and to stop dancing MULTIPLE times during the concert. I legitimately felt like I was a child again, being told to sit down and keep my mouth shut. I am also pregnant, so being sober and being told by multiple people to sit down and stop dancing really bothered me. If you're a fan of any artist, do yourself a favor and wait for them to perform somewhere else, so that way you could actually enjoy the concert. That concert was such a disappointment. read more

Let me start by saying I'm not a big Billy Bobs fan to begin with, so I usually won't go there. But, this past Saturday night I was shocked and appalled by the way that management and staff were treating customers. This is not the best venue for a concert the seating sucks, it's crowded, no room to move at all, i had seats front and center.. for all the good it did. It was obvious they had added another table which made for extremely uncomfortable body to body contact at a table. I went for one reason and one reason only to see a band play. Yes a specific band. There were 2 playing that night and I was so uncomfortable I didn't bother to stay for the second. Long, long lines at restrooms. The floor always seems sticky every time I've ever been there it's like that. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, but, we were also seated in the wrong seats. I tried to point that out but, the brash usher lady said that's where we were going to have to sit. What??? I wasn't going to get anywhere with her and didn't want to ruin my night so I just relented and sat in the seats. Little did I know, the worst was yet to come. At one time during the first performer I wiggled out of my seat to get some circulation back in my legs.. This is when it happened. There was a mix up on the tickets that stated the concert started at 10:30. Luckily, I'm a huge fan of the first performer and was alerted ahead of time by them. But, it was Billy Bobs that sold the misprinted tickets and I believe they should have done something/ anything to attempt to make it right but, what I witnessed them do was beyond disrespectful to the artist and the people that purchased the tickets. There were many ticket holders that did not know about the time misprint and to say they were a bit angry was an understatement. I most likely would have been too if it had happened to me. But, the conversation I heard went basically like this.. customer. "What time does Beth go on stage?" BB. "She's on stage now she's almost done thank God, she was putting me to sleep". Now that was bad enough but, the manager made it worse by saying " well at least someone came to see her". I found that to be very disrespectful to the artist and the many people that were there to see her. I can respect that you might not be a fan but, be a professional and keep that to yourself especially while being confronted with many angry fans. As I watched all of this going on and then it dawned on me. They did absolutely nothing to promote the fact that the first band was even playing there. 1. Ticket misprint. 2. They had zero respect for her. 3. Every band sells merchandise at the venue they are playing at. They had the 2nd bands merch up front and easy to spot. When asked if they were selling for the 1st band I was told no, I asked if there was another table again I was told no. (There was, I found it and spent $300.00 on merchandise just on principle alone.) This is a Grammy award winning artist we're talking about not an unknown. Needless to say I had heard enough and decided to turn Billy Bobs negativity into something positive and got the hell out of there. Never even heard one song from the second artist but, it was my choice to leave or stay. In the end I made a great choice!!! Just beware if you go to this venue for a concert. They make it up as they go along, and seemed no real planning was involved. Oh and those angry people that missed the show they wanted to see but, didn't get to.. yea, they were told NO REFUND Update.. as you can see Terran from Billy Bobs responded and the response was much appreciated. I don't know the employees name because it wasn't me she was speaking to but, a group of angry customers. Like I said in my original review I caught the announcement by the artist herself so I was even a bit early. I was simply sad for the people that didn't get to see her and the way they were treated. Thanks Terran for responding, but, I will admit that I hope she doesn't play there again. It's just not a good set up for a concert. And adding additional tables made the seating chart way off. I was purchased front and center tickets that turned out to be not front and not center, that coupled with the brash usher woman that sat us at the wrong table didn't enhance the experience. Thank you again Terran for your reply, like I said it's appreciated. Funny how the only thing you addressed in the lengthy review was an incident I witnessed but, was not a part of. I never go to bars but I purchased tickets to Parker McCollum & I want to publicly bash Billy Bob's Texas for accusing me of not being who my ID said I was, and then confiscating my drivers license identification card and then getting in my face, calling me names, punching me, and throwing me out. Very unprofessional, I am 22 years old & I have never been treated like that before by an establishment as a paying customer. They treated me like a criminal and now I am without a drivers license. I hope the 300 pound bouncer who decided to throw a right hook at me is removed from his position and faces legal repercussions. read more

I HATE coming to Billy Bob's. I've never had a good experience. But this was a final straw. My husband and his friend were drinking beers, standing at a table at 1:30 am, with no one within 5 pool tables of us, shooting the shit, when a bouncer came and said they needed to put their masks on. As he walked away my husband laughed and grabbed his mask to put it on his ears. All of a sudden there was a 4 ft Karen telling my husband and his friend that they were being rude and didn't need to be disrespectful, to which my husband said "so you would rather me wear my mask and drink my beer at the same time?". She walked away and had 3 grown men come and harass us. Embarrassingly enough they went to the wrong table and began berating the another group of customers, as she stood next to us confused as to what they were doing like we were. She called to them and said "boys, this table!"... Once they came to our table and told us to leave, she began to back away as we pleaded our case that we were sitting at a table with no one around at 1:30 am drinking beer. To which they responded with "we are just doing our jobs." I asked them if this was their new way of closing early by kicking out paying customers which made her walk away. Completely unprofessional. My husband and I have both worked in bars in our college years, and have never seen anything this ridiculous... and we've seen our fair share. We were not drunk, we were not aggressive, we were not belligerent, and we were kicked out for not wearing masks while drinking. Completely embarrassing to see that others have had this experience in a popular tourist attraction. Billy Bob's is not how I want Fort Worth to be represented when you have girls falling over drunk, flashing people on the dance floor and men stalking women around the bar... those are the people you need to be worried about. Billy Bob's was great; however, the parking outside is a total scam. I paid for parking (has a time stamp) and still received a parking notice (stamped after my paid parking). Not only did I send in proof, but I was forced to pay and additional $59 on top of the $5 parking I paid that night, or have my credit score impacted my a debt collector trying to scam people into paying more. I may never go back because of this experience, but if I do, valet parking is way cheaper and more convenient I'm sure. Very disappointed in the experience because of this. read more

I recently went to Billy Bob's and was very excited to go as I have heard how cool it is. We entered in the early afternoon and saw line dancing which was really cool. We went to get a drink and the bartender was very rude when my dad asked for a drink. The cups were so small and most of the cup was filled with ice. I think I took two sips and my drink was already gone!! Then we went to take a photo with the bull and the man working was so mean. There was no line and he made some comment about where we were from and told us not to move here?? And then I did a silly pose on the bull and he said "these aren't glamour shots". He made the whole experience miserable. He obviously is miserable doing his job.. so maybe he needs to be let go lol. I heard the lady who just finished with her pictures complaining about him too. I was hoping to have a good experience and it was far from that. I'm definitely not trying to be a Karen lol but I was so sad that the staff was mean! read more

After not visiting Billy Bob's for quite some time, I've been back twice in the last month for concerts. The staff and bartenders are consistently friendly, although the wait service in the reserved concert area could be more efficient. They lose a star for the hideously overpriced drinks; you pay $6-7 for a single domestic beer. A (small) cup of wine costs $8-9. At that rate, 2-3 rounds of drinks add up very quickly. The dance floor gets super crowded on weekends. It would be okay if everyone followed basic dance floor etiquette (i.e. go the same direction, respect other dancers' space). You get a lot of people doing wild dance moves without concern for anyone else. Others just stand and dance in the middle of traffic. And finally, I like small kids as much as the next person; they may be super cute but trying to navigate around them on a crowded dance floor is not easy, fun or safe. My girlfriend and I went to the Tracy Byrd concert and it was a very nice experience. Great music and service. However, the Robert Earl Keen show on July 6 was a huge disappointment after paying $30 / ticket. The sound was horrible. There was so much distortion that the music was little more than a mashup of indistinguishable noise. REK spoke quite a bit between songs but you could barely understand a word he said. It was just a garbled mess. He sounded like one of the adults on a Peanuts cartoon. Toward the end his mic seemed to malfunction and his voice fluctuated up and down / in and out. About 2/3s through the show several groups of people got up and left, which I've never seen there before. All in all, Billy Bob's isn't a terrible experience. It's a great spot for live music, dancing and honky-tonking in general. However, I probably won't be back any time soon. It's primarily a spot for tourists and their prices reflect that. Considering that many of the artists I want to see also play at the Kessler Theater in Dallas or down in Austin, I will pick my future concert dates at BBs more selectively. read more

This is a terrible concert venue. It's fun to bring visitors to Billy Bob's but I'll never buy concert tickets here again. Dwight Yoakum was sold out last weekend and they weren't checking tickets at any of the doors to the concert area. It was packed with rude people. We waited 10 minutes crammed tight with rude men trying to push around us because they had tickets. We all had tickets, but so many people were standing around to see the concert we couldn't get to the seats. I bought seats at the end of the table so I'd be comfortable sitting and there was a man at the table's end. I asked the lady who took us to the seats and she said they don't sell seats at the end but she didn't ask him to move. He was large and taking up room where I was supposed to sit. It's crammed and uncomfortable for thin people here, but for fat folks it looks ridiculous. People were standing and blocking views. Most seats are obstructed anyway. It's just a real miserable experience here. I wish I could have enjoyed Dwight Yoakum in a nice place and have a pleasant memory of it. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING WRONGFULLY ACCUSED OF A CRIME!! My friend and I bought tickets to attend a concert at Billy Bob's, and decided to drink before the concert started. For context, Billy Bob's has several "bar" areas where you can order a drink. We ordered drinks at the "central" bar area and kept the tab open. Billy Bob's requires you to leave a card for an open tab, thus we left our card (this is important later). After a few drinks, we decided to close our tab right before the concert started, so we would sober up for the drive home. Not more than 30 minutes into the concert, five employees and an officer barge up to us and start yelling that we took but did not pay for a single margarita from one of "left" bars, a station we never once went to. Confused, we explained we didn't order any margs, nor did we even visit the bar in question!! Instead of checking their recordings (which we encouraged them to do many times) they forced us to leave and said if we stayed on the property, they would charge us with public intoxication. Are you kidding me??? Public intoxication... at a bar?? When we had been dancing and not even had a drink for 30 minutes, thus not even "intoxicated" enough for a charge?? After WRONGFULLY ACCUSING US, five employees and the officer forcibly escorted us out. My friend and I are barely above 5 feet, weight barely over 110 pounds; there was absolutely no need to have that many people threaten, accost, and escort us out. I didn't realize short women were so threatening. After wrongfully accusing us, refusing to provide any proof (btw they got their own story wrong several times when accusing us, as at first 3 customers saw us take a drink but then only an employee saw?) they kicked us out before the concert ended and refused a refund. I'm going to start off by saying I've never written a review and I specifically made a yelp to write a review on this place. I went to see Riley Green play here last night. I bought my ticket weeks ago and made a 4 hour drive from San Antonio to see him play. I get there and go to the bar to grab a couple beers. I was there for about 30 mins, then Riley Green came on stage. After about 2 songs in I went to another bar to grab my 3rd and 4th beer for the night. As I'm waking back to the group I was with a bouncer stopped me and told me I had to leave. I asked why and he told me that the bartender said I threw up at the bar. Like I said I only had 2 beer (they were Coors lights by the way) so I was completely sober. I told the bouncer that the bartender must have got the wrong person so I asked if we can go talk to her to clear it up. When we got back to the bar the bouncer walks up to the bartender and she confirmed it was me that just threw up. At this point I was pissed. I don't know if she genuinely made a mistake or purposely threw me out. I was wearing a Trump mask so I'm assuming that was the real reason. On top of that I didn't get to drink the two brand new beers I bought and I didn't get my money back for them. I hadn't even taken a sip from them yet, not to mention I didn't get to see the concert I paid to come see. I recommend staying away from this place, it seems like they make shit up as they go. He literally would disrupt an entire section during the show over a mask not over a nose and bring the cops. Apparently billy bobs says screw paying customers and having a good time and hires Goons to enforce bs. We stayed but we left early on our own because we couldn't find a place peaceful enough to enjoy. And no the people where fine doing absolutely nothing. Highest cover charge I've ever paid because there was a concert which didn't even stay for. And I hardly ever had to pay a cover charge anywhere I go. This place is the tourist attraction in The Stockyards. It is a bit overrated and overcrowded but if crowds, long bar waits, lines and cover charge doesnt bother you then go check it out. The dancefloor is a bit small for being such a large place and think they should remove the indoor rodeo arena in the back corner to remodel it for an additional dance area. Check out the wall of fame to see the famous patrons throughout the years. read more

My only complaint was, we picked the wrong night to go to Billy Bobs, it was a Tuesday evening and not much was going on, it just happened to be the only night we were available. Billy Bobs is "HUGE"! We really enjoyed wandering around looking at all the cool items from Guitars from many legends, the hand prints from just about every cool band you can think of, and not just country bands, there was Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Heart, Pat Benetar and so on. There was an actual bull riding arena in the place. I'm sure if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, you'll get the full experience. I hope one day to go back. read more

We were invited to see the Texas Independent Concert and were seated by the big tall square pillar in the back, Since the table was placed long ways (vertical) we were unable to see the left side of the stage. Scotty McQueery was first act. If all the artists were center stage it might have been okay. We love Billy Bob's! This was too many people crammed at tables for a charity. We ordered a beer and it was warm, at the beginning of the night. Where were the ice cold galvanized beer tubs? It was not our best experience. Also, the parking was not monitored on the side where we entered the lot. We did finally, see the little guy collecting $5 which was less than what we would have paid. It's an amazing museum of country and rodeo stars. You could spend an hour just looking at the memorabilia. Indoor rodeo stadium. 2 giant bars with pool tables, video games and TVs galore. Lots of barbecue and burgers to choose. The gift shop is a fun diversion as well. Must-see read more

My boyfriend (who isn't from the U.S.) got his ID taken up because they "have never seen it before". It's weird because BB is a tourist attraction. You would think they get tons of people from other states and countries. And just because you've never seen it doesn't mean it's fake, idiots. Maybe the dude was racist but whatever. There are chicks with actual fake IDs that go there all the time and still get in. We were told to leave or else we'd be cuffed. Like okay.. Whatever. Billy Bob's is a Fort Worth establishment that you have to visit at least once. It's not hard to visit more often since they have great artists playing every weekend. We went last night for William Clark Green's Christmas show and it was a great experience. I suggest buying general admission for tickets. Ours were $12 and we were able to stand on the side of the concert seats near the restrooms and bar. $18 got you seats that you couldn't stand up in and were extremely close to your neighbors. I prefer being able to walk around at a concert. Of course if it's a huge artist I am sure it's better to buy seats. We had s great bartender who recognized us after we bought our first drinks, knew our order, and had a great personality. The experience over all was great. The venue has something to offer everyone: designated dance floors, bill riding (for an added cost), arcade games, food, and great people watching. The house band is also fabulous at reading the crowd and making sure they play a good mix of country hits and oldies. Definitely a place you need to stop by when in the stockyards and catch a great country concert. read more

Any red blooded Texan who's worth a darn has been to Billy Bob's and if your lucky woke up the next morning from your drunken stupor to tell about it! I went to a Hank Williams Jr. concert here years ago, and was molested 6 times (5 of which I slightly enjoyed) ended up with a pocket full of phone numbers, but couldn't remember which number when with which Cowboy so I threw them all away! Cowboys should give out business cards with their picture so I can remember who's who! Billy Bob's has become a little too commercialized, over the years, and while I'm all for families having a nice fun place to go - I can't imagine taking my kids to a bar, even if they do have a gift shop, its really NOT a place for kids at night. I also enjoy seeing the pack of Asian people who somehow stumbled in and are looking around, half scared and half amused, and I know as soon as they can they will blog about the experience! Do all there is to do, go to the rodeo, party all night but whatever you do DONT forget to get your picture taken on the bull! p.s. For all the out of town tourist...please take note. It is NOT cool to stop off at the Western Wear store before coming to a Texas honky tonk and buying what you THINK will make you look country, and make you fit in, or score favor with the ladies - just because your wearing new $300 boots DONT MEAN YOU INSTANTLY KNOW HOW TO DANCE!!! This review is only about the concert venue. This was my second time to see the Toadies at Billy Bob's. I have to say it is very funny that when the Toadies come to town they play at a Honky Tonk. Don't get me wrong I like going to Billy Bob's because it is fun people watching. The parking situation - you can park at Billy Bob's and they charge you $5 to park in a field...uh, no! We park across the street where they also charge you $5 to park in a parking lot...yes, please! The ticket stated that the concert started at 9. So in Rock N Roll terms that means the head liner is going on at 10PM. We arrived at 9 to see the opening act, Goodnight Ned. It was great that the Toadies had an opening act the was homegrown from Dallas. Now, the biggest downer is that they allow smoking in the bar. Cough, cough...gross! So, you will leave smelling like an ashtray. They offer two types of tickets. The $16 dollar tickets get you into Billy Bob's, but not down near the stage. There was a long line of people trying to upgrade their tickets upon arrival and realized they weren't getting near the stage. I don't think the website does a good job of distinguishing between the two prices. The $28 dollar tickets get you standing room only in front of the stage. Now, here is the funniest part about the Toadies playing at Billy Bob's. Well of course, the Toadies fans start moshing. It's a rock concert. The bouncers just look in awe and have no idea how to break it up...like I said it's good people watching. The lead singer, Vaden Lewis has to stop the concert and tell them to stop moshing in Billy Bob's. I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. There are two bars next the stage. There are three bartenders at each bar. The line never got more than two people deep. The sound system is actually pretty good. I have been impressed both times of how good the Toadies sound. This has a lot to do with sound engineers and the people behind the scenes that we don't see working hard to make it a great night of head banging. read more

Excellent Honky Tonk and a great atmosphere but my friend was unfairly thrown out after using the bathroom. Simply was grabbed and was told to leave to premises immediately. Given the energy that this place has, I will give it another try, but I'd recommend revisiting the bouncer bylaws. read more

Can I please have back the few hours of my life that I spent in this place? Two solid stars! One, purely for the outside castle looking building and the other, because I didn't think it was quite bad enough for one. Tourist trap doesn't even begin to explain this place... think of an amusement park for alcoholics and inbreds. (I'll explain). First... they charged us $5.00 to park. Really? To park my car... to come to YOUR PARKING LOT and then DINE IN YOUR RESTURAUNT and DRINK YOUR BEER? I thought this was totally insane. I am not parking in a garage and exploring the neighborhood. I don't pay to park at Applebee's either!! THEN... we paid $2.00 to walk in the door? At 2:30 in the afternoon? What? Grr.. So then we get to the bar, the bartenders were S-L-O-W. It was a mix of girls with ass cheeks hanging out and guys with cut off tees. They took their sweet time getting to us... wasn't even that busy. I am sure they have their fair share of regulars but us peon tourist wanted a beverage too. The bouncers are rude, and yelled, and pushed their way through people. Seemed a tad uncalled for and a bit aggressive. Now back to my snotty comment about the inbreds... I get that people chew... same way people smoke and bite their nails or whatever bad habit they have... but if you are going to chew, DON'T SPIT IN THE DAMN FLOOR. Gross.
