We had Rick from solid rock handyman services install a deck railing for us in April 2023. He was…read morerecommended by our real estate agent that we have good success with their previous recommendations over the years. Rick came out and showed us photos of his work on his phone. The photos looked good and he was pleasant to talk with. We agreed to hire him to build our railing thinking we were going to receive a quality and professional job. Unfortunately that is not what we got (see photos). The railing has multiple issues from split wood to different size pieces, two different colored screws and crooked gates. I asked Rick to come out and address the issues and he did come out to take a look. He said he would raise the bottom rail to fix the issue on part of the slats but then I would have a bottom rail that is higher in some areas and not level at all, so fix one issue by causing another issue is his idea of quality work. He would fix the gate as he noted he used warped wood to build them. He came back a few weeks later on memorial day which he picked so I canceled my plans so we could finally put this project to bed.. When he showed up he didn't have all the supplies he needed and didn't even have the correct supplies at that. I told him to come back with the proper materials. He clearly has no attention to detail and is not interested in fixing the project the right way, instead trying to take any short cut possible. Later that day after he left I ended up sending an email asking for him to fix the project by starting over which he even brought up when i was showing him all the issues instead of trying to put a bandaid on everything. Or provide us a refund and we will hire someone else. Rick's response was he was not going to fix anything now. He is not returning my phone call now either. Sadly we trusted Rick and we got burned. It was a very expensive lesson learned and took us a long time to save up the money and unfortunately will cost us even more money to fix the project. With spending almost $10k on railing we thought we were getting a quality product which is disappointing that we are now out the money and will have to spend more money to fix a railing that we should not have to do. I can not recommend Rick with Solid Rock Handyman Services. The lack of attention to detail from installing split wood, to different colored screws, and warped gates that don't latch properly i would never have him do work on property again sense he does not stand behind his work. I encourage you to look for a different handyman if you are in the need for one. Rick with Solid Rock Handyman is not someone I would ever use based on our personal experience.

What a rip off! I kept waiting for the tiling to be finished but I had trouble with Kevin communicating with me. Instead I got excuses and lies from him saying he would come over to complete the job but never showed up or contacted me as to why he did not. I think he and Phil were working together to rip me off. Phil probably got money from Kevin. These two clowns would make great politicians. I have contacted D&H plumbing about their employee but they seem to not care. Do not give your hard earned money to either D&H plumbing or Armstrong and sons. I've never had to leave a bad review for someone, but I encourage people to try anywhere else…read more Another contractor hired Peter to patch a hole in my ceiling. Peter came by once to look at the job, then once with the first worker. Then, I never saw Peter again. The first worker hung the drywall, and when I asked him if he'd put the insulation in first he said he wasn't paid to do that and maybe Peter would add it from the top. When I reminded him it's all boarded over in the attic and you can't add it from the top, he just said it wasn't his problem and I should ask Peter. Since he didn't put down any plastic, he left a huge mess and a pile of drywall scraps in my living room. Over the next 3 weeks, he'd send 4 random workers over. Peter would text me the night before sending someone, and usually he didn't know where the job was at so would want to send someone over for things they weren't ready for yet. Every worker that showed up didn't know what the job was, and I had to explain it all to them. They all told me that Peter didn't tell them the work was above a stairwell. They'd call Peter, and he'd convince them just to do it. They they'd precariously balance on the railing over the open stairwell to get the work done, doing a lot of damage to the railing in the process. At the end, they textured and painted it, but painted it an off-white that was way off from the rest of the ceiling. When I asked Peter about this he said the hardware stores do the paint matching, so it's not his fault. Then he never responded to anything else. We had to hire a new painter to finish the job, who was able to match the color without problem. However, he told me that every part of Choice Interiors work was done improperly, so it's never going to look great. The drywall was hung too low, and the texturing was done so poorly that it'll always be real clear it's been patched. I'm sure he quoted a low price, but everything involving him is shady and the work was done incompetently. Avoid working with Peter.
