I loved the samosas from this food truck. They were spicy but not too much for my lunch break. They were served with the sweet tamarind chutney and this goes well with the spiciness level of the samosa. I got two for $5. I noticed the sign says they take american express and discover cards, not all restaurants do. I'd love to try the chana masala next time!

Good portion size and prices. Not quite on par with the better Indian restaurants, but still a fine choice for a food truck. The service is quick and the food is served hot. They offer lots of choices for vegetarians

I can't tell you how many times I have been here thru the past 10 years since it is my husband's…read morefavorite restaurant in the 'burgh. I also do really like it! I have had everything on the menu more than once and nothing had ever been disappointing. Therefore, it came as a shock when we learn they are were closing for a while. Knowing how long it took them reopen some of their other restaurants, we are a bit sad. Maybe they will make it a little less dark inside which would be great. Sometimes it is a bit too lick like a club in there. Also perhaps they could add the octopus tacos to Tako Torta ! We visited for one last hoorah last weekend. The octopus wasn't on the menu but after checking with our waitress, they still had a few. We got both this one and then queso! I got chips for the queso since I don't do gluten and then corn tortillas with the tacos. The octopus was well cooked as usual. I had a frozen pain killer which was great. See you soon I hope!

Very small, dimly-lit, Mexican restaurant with delicious food…read more Have a bunch of drinks + taco options. Tacos come in a serving of 2 per order, but they are fairly large so this is enough Their namesake is their octopus taco. I got this, chips & guacamole, + their passionfruit beverage. It was all fantastic Service was unbelievably fast Downsides are that the place's seating is fairly uncomfortable (lots of stools with no backs) and it is pretty loud.

I stumbled across Mac & Gold at the Neighborhood Flea in the Strip. I knew of Mac & Gold by…read morereputation and am glad I got to visit during my final PGH hurrah. It is an easy and unequivocal rating of five stars. No doubts or hesitation. I ordered a side salad with ranch. The salad was baby greens, grape tomatoes, and some fantastic ranch. I also got one of their daily specials with asparagus, tomatoes, and spinach. The mac part is thick twisty noodles that are toothsome and satisfying. Their cheese sauce is thick, rich, and the best I've ever had. It is a smooth, well-bound consistency with no hint of the oily separation that plagues so many mac-n-cheese sauces. The asparagus was fresh, and a good balance of crisp and tender. The tomatoes were beautiful and flavorful smushed orange balls. It was a wonderful combination.

I stopped by here a couple of Thursday evenings ago with my wife for dinner. Our neighborhood had…read moresigned up a number of food trucks to come on Thursdays and this Thursday happened to be The Mac and Gold Truck. Since it's a food truck, there's not too much to say about it other than it's a nice yellow color that reminds you of cheese. For dinner on this day I decided to go with the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese while my wife went with the lobster Mac and cheese. There was maybe a 5 minute wait between ordering and our food being ready and afterwards we headed back to our house to eat. My buffalo Mac and cheese ended up being quite good as both the buffalo chicken and blue cheese added great flavor to the dish. However, as it should be, the Mac and cheese was the star. The pasta itself was cooked nicely and the cheese sauce had a great flavor to it. There was an ample amount of it too and which means that I was able to enjoy Each and every piece of pasta. My wife really enjoyed hers too and we were both pleased that the lobster wasn't exorbitantly priced. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our Mac and cheese and I would be interested in trying more of their flavors.

All of our coworkers really enjoyed the different dogs. The hot dogs were big 1/4 dogs on a really decent toasted roll. They had several specialty dogs that were unique combinations. Things I wouldn't normally think to put together. The sides were fries or macaroni and cheese. Both of which you could have plain or dressed as you want. Love they had Red Ribbon and Turners tea. You can fulfill your yinzer drink desires. I chose a Cherry Red Ribbon pop, regular macaroni and cheese, and the Old Blue dog. I am very picky about macaroni and cheese, but this one was solid. Not the best I've had but solid. The dog was really good as well. I would never choose those things together on a dog, but why not see their vision and eat it. The only thing I would have liked was a little more blue cheese bite to it. The folks working were super friendly and kind. I think we will definitely bring them back. Plus you are supporting a charity as well which is great.

My wife and I ordered the Big Cheese and the Big Tex and a side of fries. The Big cheese was a little underwhelming in that the Mac and cheese was pretty standard and overcooked, there weren't many jalapeños slices, and the hot dog is just boiled and plain. The Big Tex was also just a boiled dog (no grilling here), but came with more peppers, onions, cheese and had a smoky sauce drizzled on it that was nice. The fries were thick cut and crispy and seasoned with more than just salt so those were nice too. Overall meal was about $17 before tip which isn't too bad but seems a little steep--I take comfort in knowing that it's at least for a good cause.
