We were driving from Tucson Az to Boynton Beach Florida,the week of the Hurricane Michael storm…read more We stopped for 2 days to visit our son @ Eglin AFB.When leaving Eglin in a mandatory evacuation, our tire pressure light came on. I checked the tire and added air and noticed extreme wear and tear on the tire . From Destin to Panama City we stopped and called everyone, most not having our low profile 275 35 R18..Pep Boys tried, no go, Goodyear..2 days. So we decided to try and make it to Orlando where there was no hurricane. As we headed back to the highway we spotted 15th st Tire and Auto..lots of used tires. Pulled in and met the nicest group of local owners. They did not have our tire(s) and were concerned we might get caught in the hurricane. The owner called every location he knew of (which I did not know) and found 1 new and 1 (great shape) used. I wasn't aware of the damage on my other back tire. Not only did they find the tires, I payed below what I have at chain dealerships, and we were safely out of reach of the storm. This group made sure people were safely on the road before themselves, I do realize they are in the business of getting people on the road for a price, but they did what others were not willing to take the time to do.

I took my SUV to Mad Hatter, they tried to save me money and said it would be $900. I bit the bullet and signed off on the repairs to be done. The gentleman from MH called the next morning, said I did not need the repairs, something the other "mechanic chain" had repaired was done improperly. Mad Hatter fixed the issue and charged me all of $40!!!!!! A perfect example of Honesty, integrity, professionalism and proficiency. Then, they saved me another $230 by referring me to another business of the same mindset for something else I needed that was unrelated. DO NOT USE THESE CROOKS. TRUST ME!…read more Called Jeff on phone and asked about a possible transmission issue. I told him that Mr. Transmission had the car and was giving me a quote. Jeff said "Oh, they are high". Turns out they were actually cheaper than Jeff at A1 Transmission. Jeff offered a free tow to his shop and called me saying that I had 2 problems. Catalytic converters needed to be replaced. I had already told him that if the total fix was going to be under $3000 that I can do it. He said that the new transmission and the catalytic converter swap would be way more than that. I told him to tow my car back to my house because I can't pay that. He said "Hold on let me talk to my shop forman (Chester)". He called me back and said he can do the catalytic converters, a transmission flush, timing belt change, A/C servo motor in my dash that was making noise. He said he can do all of this for $3200. I called mad hatter to get a quote on all the same work and it came out to $2300. I called Jeff at A1 Transmission and told him how cheap Mad Hatter was and he said he can do it for $2800. So, I let Jeff work on the car. He ordered the catalytic converters and timing belt and put them on. When I got the car back, I noticed that it INTERMITTENTLY had a poor acceleration issue, the same as before. This only happens ever once in a while. I took the car the next day back to the shop and drove with Mark (The super Lexus tech) and I couldn't make the car do it and I had to get to work. Upon leaving work that day when mashing the acceleration the car barely moved. The next day while taking my son to school, I heard a grinding noise, then a whistling/whining noise when the accelerator was pressed. It gradually got louder. I went to make a turn and the steering went out. This was 2 days after I got it back from Jeff at A1 Transmission. He picked up my car and charged me for the tow ($75) this time and put in a new power steering pump. Jeff from A1 transmission said he can get me a used steering pump for $60 to help me out because he charged me for a transmission flush ($169) but didn't perform one. That power steering pump had the steering wheel barely turnable. I told him that this wasn't right and they said that's how it is supposed to be. Utter incompetence. So, they said if I wasn't happy with that stiff, un-usalble steering wheel that I can get a new pump from Oreilly's and pay for it and have it delivered to them. I was told to get my old pump back for a credit from Oreilys. A1 Transmission refused to give me my old pump for a credit with Oreily's because they needed the pulley which makes no sense. Oreilly's didn't want the pulley. I caught A1 in multiple lies. A1 Transmission put on the "Brand New" power steering pump and steering was still extremely stiff and every time you turn the wheel there is an awful humming noise. Chester said that is normal. Did not install pump correctly and it had to be fixed by another mechanic. That same day, I took my car to a master mechanic at Bay Lincoln. He and his colleagues saw gross errors in the work right away. A fuel induction hose was used for the power steering pump. There was a kink in this incorrect power steering hose that was installed causing the stiff steering. When we straightened it out the steering stiffness went right away. The clamps used on power steering hose were all loose and can spin them with your fingers. Wrong bolts where used during the catalytic converter swap. Some bolts have been tightened down too far and stripped them. My wheels were damaged somehow while in their possession. A1 transmission did my brakes but put NO brake fluid in my car. A1 transmission replaced my catalytic converter and left my heat shield off which could have caused my car to catch on fire. (with my 12 year old in the car) These are just the issues that were seen within 20 minutes. Found out that A1 transmission damaged my power steering pump solenoid which was a $500 part. After all this my car is the exact same as it was before I took it to them. Having intermittent power issues. They fixed NOTHING. Jeff at A1 to this day, still refused to give me a detailed receipt and a receipt for the tow, so I can be re-imbursed. I was just cussed out by Jeff on 2:30pm 4-7-16 when asking for my receipt again. Every word that comes out of Jeff's mouth is a lie. Complete crooks and worst business I have ever seen, by far.

I've been a Yelp Elite for 10 years and have over 900 reviews. I called Ron around 9:45 PM when our serpentine belt broke near our Condo. Ron answered and said even though he was not available, he would send his right hand man there and he'd be there at 8AM sharp. I sent the car model/VIN so they could get the parts asap before heading our way. Great, I thought! The reviews were right. Now this is where things stopped. I called at 8. I called at 9. I called at 10. Ron's so called "right hand" wouldn't answer my calls or texts. I kept calling Ron and he kept assuring me that the guy was going to show up. 11 o'clock no answer. 12 o'clock no answer. 1 o'clock no answer. 2 o'clock. He finally answered the phone and said he would be on his way shortly. The guy finally showed up at around 3:15 PM to work on the car. We had spent the entire day waiting for him to show up instead of enjoying our last vacation last day of vacation. Little did we know this was just the beginning of all of the issues we would have with the car. It was the serpentine belt. But when the guy went to lift the car, he jacked up our Honda pilot via the oil pan. Anyone with a brain would know that an aluminum pan is not going to hold the weight of a car. This immediately resulted in oil spilling out of our car. He was unable to find a replacement pan for us so he had to use some sort of epoxy sealant to seal the crack that was in the oil pan and we kept our fingers crossed that we would get home ok. There was no apology for this added damage to our vehicle and there was no Compensation for the damage they caused. And when we got home, we had to spend almost $800 getting the oil pan replaced because of the incompetence of this company. This company is a sham and takes advantage of people who are out of town and needing their vehicle fixed in a timely manner. He charged us $500 to replace the serpentine belt. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
