The waitresses were all sweet and helpful, the ambiance was calm and homey, and the food was exceptional. The soup of the day was absolutely phenomenal, and they had freshly-baked bread to go with it. The coffee was very good, and the tuna sandwich was filling. The carvery has the usual Turkey, Beef or Gammon available (plus there is a vegetarian option) and loads of vegetables. On weekdays other options are available so take a look.It's all well cooked, but I have had a few bits of stringy meat, but thats down to the suppliers and once I've said something they have always refunded or replaced without quibble. This one is popular with the local travellers but they do tend to let the children run riot. More than once I've seen a little one nearly end up with a hot dinner over themselves after colliding with someone so do be careful. Outside seating is available and there is plenty of parking.
