Lots of snooks - some with armchairs, all with open fires make this a great place for chilling out with friends, or someone special. The whole building is made of solid wood - it really gives the idea of a quality place. The staff are pretty friendly and welcoming, and tables are cleared quickly. The garden is MASSIVE! and again, all solid wood furniture and decking - it really looks like a quality place. There are no heaters in the garden, but in the summer, it will be a complete sun trap and I think it will be busy! The toilets are up two flights of stairs, so don't leave it until you're desperate!!! This is a Samuel Smiths pub, and as such, don't expect to get anything that is branded in this pub - but actually, it's nice to have a change and Samuel Smiths' cider is lovely..!! I'm going back soon for food, so I'll report back again after that!!

It is a tidy pub and gets full on weekends. People tend to use it as a stop off on the way to other places. It's usually first on the list on the way in to town or last on the list as it is between town and a nightclub. There isn't any car parking but if you were driving then you probabally wouldn't be going here in the first place as it is more of a drinking place.

It's not a pub that I would go drinking in - but the restaurant part of it is well worth a visit. The pub is frequented by students during the day and locals in the evening - and it's not particularly welcoming to strangers - so if you're a bit timid, or easily scared in strange environments, then I definitely wouldn't go here. You can park in the Docks though - and if you visit in the evening, you can park for free.

Our favorites: sea bass, fish chowder, and battered fried fish for the kids. The mixed veg was a huge plate of peas, whole potatoes, broccoli, and carrots, each in their own section, cooked to perfection. Friendly service (but extremely slow.. there was only a couple of other people in at lunchtime and it took so long for our bill to come it became a bit of a joke after a while). He belittled me and made me feel as though I could not do anything right. As well as this there are more things to add, but I feel it is not appropriate to mention them on here. This man has no idea how to treat staff, customers, or indeed how to manage a bar! I thoroughly recommend that you stay away from this bar!

This is a very cosy pub, but another tiny car park - you might have difficulty parking, especially towards Christmas where lots of Christmas parties will be happening. The food is fantastic value for money and the staff are polite and efficient. The staff are keen to please you - whether there are 2 or 22 of you. It's a really nice atmosphere. Although the bar is tiny - it always looks immaculate. They also pay attention to detail too - if you happen to mention that you're booking for a birthday/anniversary/retirementthey seem to remember and all of the staff know what you're celebrating - it's lovely to have the personal touch.

Shame that the car park is so tiny, but the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The pub has a decent sized function room too - if you're having a party - consider this place.
