I visited this take away whilst on holiday over the Easter break, ordered 2 children's meals (£4.75…read moreeach), a cod and chips and a large curry sauce. With the children's drinks I asked if I could swap the horrible drink cups offered for bottles of water. The young lad, Blake, who served me asked someone and then came back to me with 2 bottles of water. After a long day, long queue in the take away I was tired and hungry. Blake didn't tell me how much my bill was and I just offered my card, paid and left so I could get the kids and myself fed. When I got back to where I was staying rhe children were disappointed by the fact there was the smallest amount of chips with their side so they had some of mine. Later that evening I checked my bank and realised I'd been charged £23.10!!!! My parents, who we were away with, had ordered 2 cod and chips with a small curry which came to £18 which is about what I expected my bill to be. I immediately contacted the shop via Facebook to basically be told I'd got what I'd asked for and that was the price!!! I was told I'd ordered a LARGE cod and LARGE chips which bumped the price up an EXTRA £5 to my parents bill. The customer service qas just awful, it was all my fault for not hearing that asking for bottles of water added an EXTRA 75p onto my bill, it was MY fault that Blake had charged me for a large cod and large chips....there was nothing any different to my meal than there was to my parents, infact their fish was much nicer, mine was just dry and greasy. I will NEVER visit this chip shop again and unless you have super powers with your hearing, to hear the unsaid, then I'd urge you to so the same. This experience ruined the end of our holiday!!!!! Oh and just to add, I have now been blocked from their Facebook page, all because I queried my bill with them!!!!!!!!!!

Portion size is hit and miss, sometimes you're overwhelmed by chips and other times disappointed. If you catch them at the right time and get a freshly cooked fish then all is well, otherwise it seems they try to anticipate a rush and cook a huge batch ... I've had more dried out fish than I think is really acceptable, but by the time you've got it home what can you do? For whatever reason I find something odd about their curry sauce and mushy peas - bit odd that they ladle them out of a hot food tray, then microwave them. Whatever, the curry sauce doesn't taste like it used to, and the peas are decidedly not mushy enough. Used to be the best in Tewkesbury but I've found the Abbey Fryer easily as good recently, which certainly didn't used to be the case.

We had a 15" Italian hot pizza for a main and chicken and mushroom pasta. The pizza was undercooked. Like really undercooked. At first glance it looked like a great pizza but after one bite all you could taste was the soft uncocked dough which was still mouldable. The pizza fell apart and I struggled to eat any of it. We were told they did have a brand new kitchen in which could explain the change in the usual good food. Well I'm sorry to say I wasn't impressed. The place was not busy, there seemed to be 3 serving staff on plus a drinks waiter. None acknowledge me when I walked in and after a good 3 or 4 mins of standing there the drinks waiter assured me someone would be with me. I waited. A party of 4 turned up and he did the same to them. A waitress appeared and without acknowledging me, took the party of 4 to a table. I waited. I was left standing there like a lemon. I should have left then but I persevered and another waitress showed me to a booth and left me with a menu before I could order a beer. I spent the next 10 minutes trying to order at least a beer as others were shown to seats and offered a drink. Eventually I managed to catch the eye of the waitress who had shown me to my seat and I was able to order - although it was clear she didn't know the menu so I ended up pointing at things - I don't think her English was especially bad although it didn't seem to be her first language so I was patient. I'd almost finished my beer by the time the food came. It wasn't until I was half way through the plate that I realised no one had brought me any sauces, I tried to catch the eye of a waiter but I was finished eating before anyone showed any interest. All the time the restaurant was less than half full. I'm Wrote this over my beer at 8:30 on a Weds evening so hardly peak. The food was just OK not very tasty, not bad but nothing special. Not sure if I was just feeling unloved at that stage. I ordered another beer, it arrive just as I was finishing my meal. Got to say I was disappointed at this F&B. I did the only thing we Brits can do, I said nothing, paid the bill and shock horror, left no tip. That's the first time I've done that for years. I won't be back here again in a hurry, it's left me disappointed in F&B. 2 stars because 1 seems harsh but I was tempted.

This is a branch of the McDonalds fast food chain. It sells all the usual stuff that you would…read moreexpect to find in any McDonalds anywhere in the world and I usually find that the standard of the food in any McDonalds restaurant is much the same as any other. This one is no exception. It is in North Swindon, on the Orbital Retail Park. There are other shops not far away, such as Asda Walmart, Boots, Borders, Next and Comet. But McDonalds is situated on the opposite side of the car park to all the others, which I would have thought was not good for their trade. There is however a drive through there as well as eat in, so perhaps they get a lot of their business from people leaving the car park who go to the drive through bit on the way home. The staff there are ok, nothing special, but nothing bad to say either.
