We went there with a party of five on a Friday night during lunch and it looked like it was going to be a long wait because the parking lot was full in every table occupied but the wait was only 10 minutes. This was our first time going to Bill's. The service was super friendly and quick. Everyone got either fish or shrimp because it was a Friday during lent. However, I decided to pretend it was Saturday and got one of their stakes. Everything was delicious ! We will definitely go back next time we're in the area. Our family just went to Bill's for the first time. I got the 4 piece catfish filet meal with fries. The filets were cut thick & could have been cooked a little more crispy. My fries were cold & mushy & there weren't many of them. My wife got a sirloin steak & it was tough. She also got sweet potato fries & they were very good. The only positives I can give Bill's is the food came out very quick & the service was excellent. The young woman that waited on us never let our drinks even get low. The area of the restaurant was slightly crowded & we were seated close to the front door & also the kitchen which probably made our area seem more crowded & busy. read more

Was super excited to try Bills catfish and seafood in Wiggins but highly disappointed and will not go back. I got catfish and husband got chicken fried steak. Both were absolutely terrible and bland. By the time we were well into our meal, our waitress asked if we needed anything lol I was like yeah tarter for my fish, that didn't make it any better. We didn't get "how is everything " or a "yall come back and see us". As we were leaving, the phone rang 6 times while two workers finished their conversation within arms reach of the phone. I went to Bills Catfish and steaks in Wiggins Mississippi yesterday. I moved away a few years ago, so I couldn't to this restaurant as often as I did before. My friend and I had catfish filets. They were as good as they were in the past. I explained to the staff I became friends with Bill. I found out Bill loved hot sauce. On my travels around the world, I would bring Bill sauces where I could find good ones. I was looking forward to seeing Bill again. I found out Bill had passed away. I'm so happy to hear his wife has kept this great restaurant open. I will definitely come back as often as possible. read more

The food is a little pricier, but for a catfish place I wouldn't expect less. The inside of the restaurant is a little smaller than I imagined it would be but still comfortable. I went with my parents for a birthday dinner, and I ordered the fried catfish plate. The catfish was seasoned well, and cooked perfectly, as were the fries and hush puppies. I ordered the side salad as well, but they only had a basic salad, no Caesar or plain chicken salad, but it was still fresh nonetheless. The waitress was very kind, and provided professional service. My stepdad ordered the steak, and I wish I would've taken a pic, but that's the reason for the 4 stars, his steak was smaller than expected, and it was cooked very well, when he requested medium rare. We were driving down 49 South going toward Biloxi and the sign grabbed us from the road! It said in large letters Catfish And Steak. But by the time you see it, you've missed it. So we had to turn around and come back! The outside has a great rustic roadhouse look! The inside is clean and very roomy. We started with a salad which was pretty basic. I had the sirloin, it was ok but a little dry. The flavor was a little bland. And the baked potato was a basic potato. My daughter had the surf and turf! Small piece of steak and 6 shrimp. She thought hers was really good. My husband had the ribeye po-boy, he said it was good but he wouldn't order it again, and it wasn't worth $14. Our waitress was great, very attentive. Came into Bills for something different while in town for work. The location is great as quick to get to from the Hampton. When walking in Bills is very welcoming, and the hostess staff was quick to get me seated. The server was so nice, and gave great suggestions, so I went with obviously the catfish, fries, and coleslaw. The slaw was delicious, and the catfish was seasoned just rite! Went here Friday and and got seafood platter, wanted to have whole catfish instead of filet, said there would be up charge. Food was ok except crab cake was terrible, only had cheap imitation butter for baked potato, when I paid there was a 3.5% credit card fee and this was not mentioned anywhere. This was my first visit. They did make an impression. It appears that it is a pretty popular spot to hold group events, just about half the customers were groups of 6-10 or more. They did their best to accommodate my husband's wheelchair and did succeed. The doors to get in and out were wide enough to allow for my husband's wheelchair. We ordered a cup of gumbo for starters and it was so good we could have had it for the meal itself. The salad was just the right size to enjoy but not fill up on. My husband got the coleslaw and this is the only restaurant I have been to that can have a coleslaw close to one of my favorite places. My husband got the seafood platter and I got the shrimp Alfredo. Both were absolutely wonderful. The portions are good size so go with a good appetite. Bottom line up front, I was not impressed. The service was good but the food was disappointing. My family paid quite a bit of money for our food and we were let down. I ordered the $25 ribeye which came with a bake potato and Texas toast. When my food came out, about 32 minutes later, I had a Walmart quality steak. I'm honestly don't think it was a ribeye. I ordered medium, and it was prepared how I wanted it. The baked potatoes was wrapped in aluminum foil and I dressed it with the packaged butter and sour cream. The 'Texas toast' was a slice of garlic bread, which I also think came from Walmart. The food is not worth the price. My wife ordered the surf and turf which is a sirloin with 6 shrimp. I'm pretty sure her sirloin was a fillet. Thank goodness she didn't finish it because I was very upset with my $25 meal. They also charged me $1.99 for water. read more

Stopped in for late lunch on our way through Wiggins. My husband had thre philly cheesesteak plate and I had the catfish plate. Both were generous portions of entrees and sides. Both our salads were average home size with very fresh crisp lettuce. Although iceberg was the sole green choice. My sweet potato fries were absolutely the best, however mt green bean choice was slightly on the bland side... nothing a little salt could remedy. My husband's side of mac and cheese was made on sight and was creamy and what you look forward to in a homemade mac. And the included home made desserts of bread pudding and banana pudding were very good and smaller portioned... which was fine with me. AND what I really want tho comment on is their cleanliness. We travel a LOT and the moment walked through the door, the clean smell and appearance was very much worth noting. Our server was Lacy and she was quite attentive and pleasant. We drove up from the coast to get some catfish for my brother-in-law who loves catfish with the bones in. This is the only place I know of that serves them this way anywhere close to us. The service was great and the server went over and above to accommodate our special needs. My wife has a shellfish problem so she had her catfish grilled and they cleaned the grill before grilling her fish. I cannot eat coleslaw so they substituted green beans for this for me at no upcharge. As for the catfish, out of this world. My brother-in-law's comment as we were driving home summed it all up. He said, "I've eaten fried catfish all over the South and this was the best that I've ever tasted". I totally agree with him. By the way, my wife and he also complimented them on their coleslaw. They said it was great tasting and seasoned just right. High praise from my wife since she won't eat most restaurant's coleslaw. Great service, great prices, great tasting food.
