Friendly, competent, driver. He unfortunately worked for folks who are inept at processing a credit card. My ride was less than 5 minutes. They required me to call the Yellow Cab office (from the back seat) and arranged a cc payment over the phone. They took my card # and we hung up. Early the next morning I was called and told my card didn't work. I called back and they guy who answered said he was not currently working and I would need to call another number. After 4 calls (to pay them) my payment finally went through. I asked for an emailed receipt, they took my email address, I never received a receipt. This whole situation was very poorly handled. If you need to pay for your taxi with a credit card you might try another taxi service. read more

My cab to the airport was 20 minutes late, even though I had called for it the previous day. Despite being 20 minutes late, the driver still picked up and dropped up another fare, that was not on our way, without asking me, before taking me to the airport. Both the dispatcher that I called to reserve the cab and the dispatcher that called to tell me the cab was going to be 20 minutes late were surly and disrespectful. Like almost every other review states, THE DISPATCHERS ARE RUDE BEYOND BELIEF! The driver who picked me up in the evening and took me to my hotel called the dispatcher to set up a reservation for the next morning. The driver offered to do this since I told him that two different times I called to make a reservation and the phone just kept ringing. No one picked up even though they advertise as being open 24/7. Well, the dispatcher would not let the driver make a reservation for me! He kept telling the driver that I had to call myself and refused my driver's repeated attempt to reserve a pick up for me. Plus the dispatcher was very rude to the driver (I could hear their conversation on the cab's radio.) What's also puzzling is that Yelp does not "recommend" 19 other reviews which rate this company mostly one star. The rating displayed in the review is not accurate. Let's start with getting the cab to your location; we were told half an hour and they'd be there. 45 minutes later we called and they said 15 more minutes. Thankfully they actually showed after only another half an hour. Unfortunately I stead of taking us to the airport to get to our flighy, he decided to take us to pick up a second fare which was only 20 minutes out of the way. They have no protocols in place- when they pull up to the airport its whomever runs to the car the fastest. I called Yellow cab to pick me up at my house and was told there would be around a 45 minute wait which I was fine with. 1 hour 20 minutes goes by I call the dispatcher back and was told that I was the next on the list. 25 more minutes go by and I get a call from the dispatcher that my cab arrived (she sounded irritated, can't imagine why). The cab driver was nice enough the car looked like it had seen better days. As I approached the cab I realized that I wasn't the only passenger, there was somebody (I'm assuming going to a destination in the same direction) already in the backseat. I don't mind sharing a cab with someone "IF" I'm given some warning ahead of time or asked. Perhaps I'm being picky on this point but it matters to me. Next time I'll just call Uber. read more

We recently used this cab service for a trip to the airport when leaving Billings and a trip home after returning. In both cases the taxi driver was nice, friendly, and professional. We called several days in advance to book the taxi when leaving. Our flight was very early in the morning and the dispatcher informed us that taxis were already booked for our 'time', but he offered us an alternate time, which we accepted. The taxi arrived right on time. We called from the airport after returning, and the taxi arrived within 20 minutes. This taxi company has served us well in the past which is why we continue using them. read more

I've always found the drivers to be very friendly and helpful, the dispatchers less so. I've never experienced some of the situations mentioned in the other reviews, except once when the dispatcher did not answer the phone when we called from the airport. Fortunately we saw a cab picking someone else up and the driver picked us up. Since they got the new vans, things have improved considerably. In talking to the drivers, I discovered one of their problems is getting enough drivers so often they are shorthanded. One of the drawbacks of living in a small city. read more

Today I call three hours in advance to schedule a cab, they take all my info down and tell me they'll pick me up at 3 PM sharp. At noon... I got picked up in a limo from the Walmart back to the truck stop!!! No extra charge for the limo!!! Well all I can say is wow! I have use the yellow cab outta billings about a half dozen times and have always been on time and professional. A nice thing is they tell you how much it's gonna cost when u call. I have been to some cab companies and the driver just rake you over the coals. But for a small town as billings it was nice touch. read more

The service on a Saturday actually arrived sooner than it has in the past and my 1 star isn't necessarily for them it's more for my protest for uber. Or lyft. This driver was loyal to YC and he's done this for 30 years he kept saying and repeated that billings didn't have the market for uber. He's dead wrong. 98% of the 18-40yr olds would use uber. And 50% of the 40-60yr olds would use it. He said it would only be busy 3 hours a night 3 nights a week. Sure. That's only when billings is busy. But uber would get allllll of it. And also the majority of the other business. People want cab drivers competing for their business, to get to the location first, and to do it on their cell phone and to be cheap. None of this dispatch saying they will call you when they get there... Wtf is that. Billings DUI rate would go down very noticeably with the addition of cabs from the 21st century. read more
