Bearded Brothers had wonderfully competitive pricing for three very polite, hard-working men, and a big 26' truck. Major points here: this moving company is a local, woman-owned business that employs awesome veterans: heck yeah on both of those fronts!! So into it! I was moving about 200 boxes of collectible books, another 100 tubs/boxes of miscellaneous fragile stuff, and like 10-12 pieces of big, very heavy, antique furniture (family heirlooms). The guys took care to wrap and move my stuff, which gave me some piece of mind during a hectic time. A couple of my very heavy items shifted during transport causing some damage to a couple of my plastic tubs and book boxes, but honestly I blame that on crappy houston roads... I contacted the owner about this though and she offered to credit me some time from the move to compensate for the damage, which was very nice. My three lovely movers were Alex, Kelly, and Marcos, and I would definitely work with them again! Win-win all the way around!

What should have been a…read morerelatively simple move from a studio apartment to a one-bedroom approximately four minutes away turned into a SIX-HOUR ordeal that cost more than twice what I expected, left scuffs on my furniture and the walls of my new apartment, and was made worse by the owner's condescending and unprofessional response when I raised legitimate concerns. The communication issues began before the move. I had to call three separate times just to receive a quote, despite repeatedly being told one would be sent. I continued pursuing the company because I genuinely wanted to support a Black-owned business, but I should not have had to work that hard simply to give a company my business. Before booking, I spoke directly with Jay, the owner, and specifically described my inventory and move. I was moving from a STUDIO to a ONE-BEDROOM approximately FOUR MINUTES away and had already moved the overwhelming majority of my clothes, smaller belongings, and other items myself. The movers were primarily responsible for my bed, mattress/box spring, dresser, nightstand, sectional, and a limited number of boxes. Based on that information, Jay estimated approximately TWO HOURS, and I expected to pay around $300. I understood this was an estimate and would have considered three hours or somewhat longer reasonable. I did not expect SIX HOURS and a bill more than twice what I anticipated. The biggest issue was efficiency. There were two movers, and I want to distinguish between them. One was kind, professional, and worked efficiently. I genuinely appreciated him and have no complaints about his performance. The other mover was noticeably slower. Multiple trips between my apartment and the truck took close to 30 minutes, and at one point I genuinely wondered where he was. Ironically, this same mover acknowledged, "Yeah, you don't have a lot of furniture." It ultimately took approximately FOUR HOURS just to load the truck. Because this company charges hourly, efficiency directly affects the customer's bill. I never rushed the movers, interfered with their work, or complained to them about their pace. After more than three hours had passed and we had not even left my studio apartment, I simply contacted the company to ask whether what I was observing was normal. Unfortunately, Jay's response made the experience considerably worse. Rather than investigating why the move was taking substantially longer than his estimate, he became defensive and condescending. He repeatedly defended the crew by telling me he had personally trained "these boys," that they were athletes and basketball players, that they were among his "top-of-the-line" movers, and that he had never received complaints about them. He then proceeded to explain the moving process to me, suggesting that I did not realize how much furniture I had or was failing to account for the time required to carry furniture through the building, use the elevator, walk to the truck, and load it. I found this incredibly patronizing and completely beside the point. This was my FOURTH move, and I moved into this exact studio three years ago with essentially the SAME furniture. I understand that furniture has to be carried, taken on elevators, loaded, transported, and unloaded. More importantly, Jay was the person I gave my inventory to before booking and the person who estimated approximately two hours. His own mover even acknowledged that I did not have much furniture. Ultimately, it took nearly FOUR HOURS to load and approximately SIX HOURS total to move a limited amount of furniture from a STUDIO to a ONE-BEDROOM FOUR MINUTES AWAY. And after all that time, my furniture was scuffed and marks were left on the walls of my new apartment. I understand estimates are not guarantees. But there is a significant difference between a two-hour estimate becoming three hours and a two-hour estimate becoming SIX. When a customer raises a reasonable concern about that discrepancy, the appropriate response is to investigate and address it--not argue with the customer or condescendingly explain how moving works. The excessive time, resulting cost, damage to my furniture and walls, poor communication, and especially the owner's response made this an extremely disappointing experience. Allen Beaulieu, the rep who I made the original contract with, sold me on the idea of the "Full Value Protection" which boasted up to $100,000.00 coverage on my home goods. I paid the extra cost for the "full protection" because he assured me that any damaged items would be much better covered with the insurance. This was apparently a lie as it has been 2 months since I filed my claim and the company has repeatedly advised me that the insurance company was still evaluating the claim, and that there was nothing Graceful Moves could do until the insurance company made a decision. There are no rockets are science involved in this transaction. I paid Graceful Moves to move my furniture. I paid for the extra insurance which Graceful Moves recommended. Graceful Moves broke my table and they now refuse to make any payment despite the fact that I had the "Full Protection" insurance. Use Graceful Moves at your own peril.

Gabriel at first was very professional. And I was extremely transparent in communicating my moving needs. I explained to him up front that I had several large pieces to be moved. Three armoires was the heaviest of pieces in the move. Everything had to be moved from one storage location to another location. All on the ground floor. He sent an employee named Erwin to head the move, an older man a young kid. Erwin moved very little items from the storage unit, he just stayed inside the unit and waited on the other 2 movers. FYI: I hired 3 movers total, not 2. About a hour and half into the move, Erwin got to the armoires that I mentioned to Gabriel about and stop, then I realized why he wasn't helping the other movers. Erwin stated that he couldn't move the armoires because "he had a bad back". So I called Gabriel and ask him "why would you send me a mover with a bad back" and "if Erwin has a bad back, why is he in the moving business?" And the 2 other movers were an older man and a young boy. Gabriel assured me that he would send someone else the next day to finish the move. I explained to him that I was on a time constraint, because I had to move out of the storage by the end of the month. Gabriel promised that he would make things right the next day, because I stressed to him if I hired a new company, I would have to pay another initial fee and truck fee. Gabriel again assured me that he would make things right. But next day he ignored my calls and texts, and I never heard from his company again. I lost over $500 dollars with Houston Supreme Movers because I had to pay another $350 a month in storage rent for not vacating before the first of the month, initial fee and truck fees to hire another moving company. I had to hire professional movers from Antonio's Movers who had no problem moving heavy pieces because they are professionals. Look a the picture below! Professionals!

We requested the same crew and they always did a wonderful job. Nothing was broken, nothing was missing. And everyone was safe wearing mask. Movers showed up unprepared. We had wood floors which main guy saw when he toured our house before move. The movers showed up and said they had no moving floor protections. After one of the movers scratched the wood floor with his unprotected dolly, I told them to stop the move. All of a sudden, they went to their truck and found some floor protection. Really? Movers worked hard but they seemed they just wanted to get the job done and get their check. You can find many other better options. I'm still looking for some of the items that were supposed to be moved. Yelp disappointed me on this one.

They had great communication, letting me know what time they would arrive and texting me right before they got to my house. The elliptical and desk went upstairs in my friend's house, and they got these two heavy items upstairs with no damage. They were finished within the two hour window I had been quoted, with time to spare. This was a great experience and I would use them again.

When we arrived at my storage facility, we were met with something completely unexpected, my belongings had been severely damaged due to an infestation at the storage facility. I was unaware of the situation and was completely shocked to discover that rats had destroyed many of my personal belongings. The movers explained that because of the extent of the damage and infestation, they could not safely pack everything. Despite the circumstances, the team showed incredible compassion and understanding. Knowing I was already overwhelmed especially being pregnant and dealing with such a stressful situation they still did everything they could to help salvage and move what was possible. Unfortunately, some items had to be left behind because the damage was simply too severe. I was moving from Southwest Houston to the Galveston area, nearly an hour away, and despite the unexpected delays and challenges, the team worked quickly to load, transport, and unload my belongings at my new apartment. What stood out most was their kindness at the end of the move.
