The barbers were dressed professionally and very friendly. While the decor was what I would expect in a barber shop, I think the antique/classic barber chairs was a sign that this wasn't just another barbershop. You don't have those unless you love your profession. I was assigned to Chase, who cut his lunch break short even though I was the one who was 15 minutes early. I explained how I would like my hair and beard trimmed, and he went to work. He took his time and recommended several style changes for my approval before trimming. I'm not one for small talk during a haircut, but the barbers working that day were having an open conversation and I felt relaxed enough to even join the conversation, which is totally not me. But it definitely helped the time pass quickly and made the experience more enjoyable. Once done, Chase spun me around for a view in the mirror, and I thought he did a fantastic job. But the real approval would be made by my wife, who was waiting in the car. She liked it so much, she suggested that I change my barber. So, while it wasn't my intention, looks like Chase will have a new client. The prices here are a little higher than what I usually pay, but with the quality of work, it's well worth the price. It was really refreshing to find a barbershop that was open not to just cut hair, but to find people who understand and enjoy their craft.

After my first cut/style, to say I was extremely pleased would be an understatement. Upon walking in, the vibes were high and this felt promising. Barbers were welcoming, greeting people by their first names when they entered, social, and overall comfortable and engaging. When it was my turn, I was greeted by Jason with a handshake and asked exploratory questions about what I was looking for. Jason totally understood me and gave great suggestions. He was extremely professional and detailed. Before he started he explained every step he would make along the way to ensure we were on the same page. We discussed products that would enhance my style and he got to work. The professionalism, display of knowledge/skill, cut, product selection, and style were perfect! I walked inside with my significant other and ended up waiting only about 15 minutes. They had seats, so it wasn't a big deal. I got a Men's Haircut and it was $25.00. I came in for a simple haircut with that being square sideburns, clean and square in the back, and an inch off everywhere else. It came out great! I was pleasantly surprised at the result since my barber finished so quickly. It felt like I was only in the chair for a few minutes. My barber was both polite and friendly. His professionalism really did shine bright. The place was small and to the point. It was clean and kept up with nicely. Overall, this shop was just what I needed. At my appointment time, the barber that I had made the appointment for and who had confirmed the appointment, actually took another person in the waiting room instead of me. He gave a flimsy excuse about trying to get in contact with me to explain but I found no evidence of that being true. He also said that he was busy later so he couldn't cut my hair after he finished the guy that he had taken in place of me, in my appointed time slot. I wound up just leaving the shop and you can bet your backside, I won't be back! So if you're fond of wasting time, money and being pissed off that you and your confirmed appointment time are being ignored because the barber has double or triple booked his appointments, rush to J's Barber shop.
