I was a client for more than 10 years with Bill Pollard. Last year due to unforeseen circumstances I ended up uses a friend of a friend. I tried to make my appt for this year calling first thing after their Christmas break and was told they couldn't take me as a client this year. The website says mention yelp as a new customer. So they must be taking new customers but I was told they can't except anymore clients. So is it because I missed a year or you aren't taking anymore clients, new or otherwise?? read more

Stopped using them after they straight up lied to my face (another employee reached out and let me know), and then after not using them for a year they still managed to leak my personal details to a third party (they were hacked or an inside job?), have my accounts drained. Even though they already knew it had happened, they didn't advise me until months later. Stay away in my personal opinion. read more

Best place for advice on 401Ks, pensions and taxes in Tracy! For 15+ years we went to H&R Block--big mistake! Every year the cost of our tax preparation got more and more expensive all the way up to $400+. Ridiculous. Both my son and nephew had been having their taxes done at Bill Pillard's offices for quite some time and were very pleased. So I finally switched about 4-5 years ago now. Sean has given us excellent service, advice on what to do and not to do with our retirement $$ and he's been right on every year! Keep up the great work! And thank you! read more

After going to them for 5 plus years. Last year I called to schedule my appointment and they were booked they turn me away. They then recommend Kimberly Pollard. This year I tried to make an appointment they told me I could not go back because I went to Kimberly Pollard which they referred me too!! Then told me they would not accept me back because now I was considered a new client and they are not taking new clients... Ridiculous!! I was still coming back even after our information was stolen from their weak compromised data base! So disappointed in their professionalism and customer service! read more

We decided to go with a professional this year so we could get some of our tax questions answered. Bill Pollard's office came highly recommended by some neighbors but we didn't have a good experience and will not return. We felt the communication leading up to our appointment was not good and they seemed disorganized. During our actual tax appointment we felt very rushed and felt that they just wanted us in and out. After our appointment, communication was disorganized again. After a few months of not received our state refund, we contacted the state and they said there were issues with our return. When we contacted Bill Pollard's office for support, we were told they couldn't help. When we asked if they could please fax the state some documents for us or if we could bring the documents in to be faxed, they said no. We didn't have a good experience and will not be returning. read more

I have been using another tax guy in San Ramon for many years. He gave bad advice, wrong advice, and it seemed I was not as important. But I used him since he had all my information and honestly I was lazy. But this year I made the change and found a tax person in Tracy where I live. And it was a great experience. Answered questions, was attentive, and I felt like they wanted to work with me. My tax refund was more then in the past, and working with them was easy. Shawn did my personal taxes and Bill did my corporate taxes for a couple of years. In 2017, they dumped me as a client 2 weeks before April 15 so I was scrambling to get my taxes done. They said I was late to my appointment but I was literally one minute late (I had a newborn at the time). They also said that given my rental properties, it was too complicated for them to handle. I completely understand that they are super busy and may not have the time to deal with me but they should have told me sooner so I could find another accountant. It is literally like an assembly line in there and if you ask a few too many questions, they will just get rid of you. In 2018, they had the audacity to ask to do my corporate taxes again. They only do what's convenient for them and if you take a few minutes longer than the next person, they will get rid of you. Look for another accountant who has the time to answer your questions. I am posting a 2 star review despite what happened because I did get a few tax-saving tips from Bill over the years like creating an HSA and deducting my healthcare premiums against my S. We've had our taxes done with Bill and his staff for 20 years and have felt somewhat good about it however he is very expencive compared to other CPAS. This last october when we were given a call by mr pollards office about some tax issues at the time of this call the woman on the other end of the phone was very RUDE to my wife in a Threatning mannor after 20 years giving pollards office. My sons my daughter and my wife and i business we have decided to desolve the business relationship with this guy. I dont respect the way this office threats his customers. This staff from pollard down to the lowest paid office clerk should go back to school to learn how to comminucate with your customers in a satisfactory level and not cuss out the customer like what his staff did to my wife and I I Would of never beleived it untill she called me and started to threatten me and my family of our health and safety. My wife and I will be taking our business elsewhere immediately after a terrifying and disappointing experience completing our recent tax return. To be perfectly clear, the service we've received here for many years has always been top notch and appreciated - our issue is the blatant disregard for public health and safety displayed by everyone working in the office in regards to COVID-19. Given the small and enclosed nature of the office the very least we were expecting was for every member of the team to be masked appropriately, but every one we came across was not. One receptionist was unmasked, the other was wearing a partial face shield thing that I'm sure works as a sneeze or spit guard but must be entirely useless for preventing exhalations from spreading everywhere. The other two people we saw actually had on cloth masks, but wore them incorrectly leaving their noses exposed essentially rendering their utility useless. At least 535,000 Americans are now dead due to this disease, countless lives interfered, impacted, wrecked. Returning to some semblance of a normal life is going to take all of us looking out for each other. read more

HORRIBLE experience ! I will never come back here along with all the others I have referred. They were supposed to take care of an IRS issue since we pay for the insurance. They specially told me to ignore any other notices because " they will take care of it ". Next notice I received was for a wage garnishment ! Because they failed to take care of what they said they would ! I ended up having to call the IRS myself and all they needed was a copy of our W2s. They will now review and see they can remove my garnishment ! I am LIVID ! I expect a full refund on the " insurance " I pay for. read more

They never got back to me after leaving a voicemail.. so I had to call back again. Once I got a hold of someone I believe her name was Emily she had a attitude when I asked if I could make an appointment. I asked her when the next available appointment would be and she wouldn't look/ give me the next available appointment... but instead told me I need to pay a fee and collect my past 2 years of my taxes. I also tried to explain to her that on the website they have the 2 office numbers are mixed up and that they are switched around and again she gave me attitude. She said "No they are not I'm looking at it right now." If you don't know how to talk to people you shouldn't be working a job where you NEED to have GOOD customer service. read more

Absolutely no communication whatsoever. They con you into giving them money first and tell you they will help you, what they don't tell you until after is the only time you can ever talk to Bill is during a FREE 30 minute window once a week at 9 am where you can walk in for questions. Every phone call, email, and concern is to go through his secretary and when you have something important let's say like, your being audited or the IRS is knocking at your door good luck with him going to bat for you or him even taking the time out of his day to give you a call. Bill has still not called me once other than handing him $1200 to make an S corp for me which again I still have no understanding why he had me do it. As a first year self employed professional who put their trust into this guy I can honestly say if you want a CPA that has your best interest, will address your concerns, will get back to you with a phone call personally when they are available, will walk you through how to file your taxes, won't rush you out of the room to get to his next appointment, then stay far away from Bill Pollards office. read more

THESE GUYS ARE WAY TOO BUSY! Here is their plan: 1) Line up as many customers as possible in a single day like cattle. 2) Be very quick with preparing their returns and be as short as possible with answering their questions. Questions that may help them plan their tax strategies better. 3) If the customer is still not out in 30-minutes or less, start calling into the office every 5 minutes in order to interrupt the proceedings and not let the Preparer and customer engage too deeply. 4) While Bill Pollard Financial may be very knowledgeable and skilled at what they do their sole goal is clear, and it's not customer service. read more

Not sure about those 5 star rating but people need to watch you fees before you pay. When I called, a guy who picked up the phone went through my situations and he said it would run me about $270. I did tell him that I have two rental homes before he said $275. Went in today and the total is $490! When asked, he said that is becuase I have two rental homes and $275 was just an estimate. Nothing new from the time when I called in to today; all the same situations. Two rental homes are still two rental homes except it is $220 more when it was donein about 20 minutes. Part of it was they told me to email them my tax returns from the last 3 years for an exchange of a discount of $30. They said they found some mistakes on my previous year returns and for that they charged $60. They charged $60 because I made mistakes in my tax returns in prevouse years! I did not ask them to review my past returns or they did an amenment for me. It was really because I made mistakes and they saw it. They also charged $20 because both my wife and I have the health insuance. There was another item that they charged but I cant remember because they did not give me that itemized invoice after I paid them. This is very tricky. Everyone uses their services, check for your final cost. I talked to them and asked to clarify and that was what they explained. Since I have tried to resolve this with them already, got no choice but need to get help from the IRS Office of Profesional Responsibility. read more

I lived in Tracy for the past 12 years and wanted to find a qualified tax service in town. I was previously driving back to Sunnyvale every year to accomplish this annual event and decided that I was tired of all the driving, especially on my day off. I checked with some of my friends, but they used tax preparers out of town. I didn't know where to look, so I decided to try Yelp. I checked for tax services and didn't find a lot of reviews. When I checked Bill Pollards reviews, they were mostly positive. My taxes are not difficult and I wanted to accomplish the following things: get my taxes prepared in front of me, have my taxes e-filed, and complete this task in a timely manner. Bill Pollard Financial accomplished all of these and therefore I'm giving them 5-Stars. I made the appointment the day before, and the receptionist asked a few questions so she could quote me a price. I arrived the next morning a few minutes early for my 8:45 appointment. I was greeted and told to wait a few minutes. By the way, the office is very nice. I sat down with Brian Pollard. He asked me a few questions and then we got right into the paperwork. He had 2 large computer screens. One for the client and one for him. I watched as he entered every form step by step. Any question I had, he was able to answer while going through the taxes. At the conclusion of the filing, he offered me some tips for increasing my returns for next year. Fair price, professional service, and completed in a timely manner. 5 STARS. read more

Awesome service that is always on time and makes doing taxes easy. Very efficient! There are dual computer monitors so I can view the tax information updates as they are input and calculated. I still highly recommend Bill Pollard's office to everyone and anyone! We have been coming here for about 6 years! They are the most honest and trustworthy people around. Always get me the max amount and explain everything in detail and answer all my questions. We usually get our taxes done with Tim (he is the best ever, I mean BEST!) we were sad that he was booked out until March but I understand everyone wanting him :) however we are always happy with everyone in the office. This year Keith helped us and he was just as awesome as Tim! Quick, thorough and even made us laugh. We had to bring all 4 of our kids (which includes a set of twins) this year and they were totally understanding and accommodating. Don't waste your time looking for anyone else just come here!! I would prefer to not give a star at all. You are better off using turbotax for a fraction of the price. One day after they completed my 2016 taxes a called and informed them they left off my disability income from my maternity leave. It took numerous calls and emails to get them to amend the my taxes, which was never done. That alone was enough to keep me from using them for 2017. And just last week I received a notice from the IRS that they made another error submitting net sales instead of gross. They are useless! read more

My husband and I had our taxes done at a local H&R Block and we left extremely uncomfortable with how they prepared it so we came here to Bill Pollard's to have it amended. They were very meticulous, knowledgable, and professional with preparing my husband's taxes and as it turns out, there were a total of 9 errors by H&R, one of which was failing to complete our taxes from out-of-state. They were able to rectify all critical errors and our return went from a few hundred dollars to a couple thousand!!! We could not be any happier with their work and everyone here is so nice and helpful. I am coming back every year since this is the only place I trust to do our taxes from now on. read more

Just a little put off by how I was treated this morning. I had an 8:00 appointment but because my son's bus came late, I was running about 4 minutes late. At 8:03 I decided to call and let them know but when I picked up my phone someone from the office was calling me. She asked me if I was still coming and if I'm right around the corner. I told her that I was literally 1 minute away. When I got there at 8:04, I was told that he took another client and I'd have to wait 15 minutes or so. If they were going to take another client I have no clue why they even called me, or didn't tell me that when we were on the phone. The younger lady who I spoke to on the phone tried to be helpful and problem solve. I was surprised by the older lady who told me I should've been there 3-4 minutes before 8am and became rude. She said she could not reschedule my appointment, which completely took me by surprise. I had my taxes done here last year based on a recommendation. I have no complaints about my taxes. I just think that they could've been upfront with me and explained that there is no grace period, and that because I was late they would have to reschedule. read more

I used this office for many years. In the recent few I found the quality of service to be decreasing. They are not able to help business taxes that require more than the usual tax preparation. I was told I had too many issues and they could no longer help. Tim also stated I missed several appts which was not true. I run a practice and follow very ethical guidelines. In fact it was them that missed an appt with me by double booking. I found out as I was about to pull into their parking. I am very disappointed with their lack of professional courtesy and fabrications. read more
