This is my 4th lease from Bill Dodge Kia and obviously I am a loyal customer. Leasing a new vehicle can be an overwhelming experience, but not at Bill Dodge Kia. My 4th experience was no exception. They reached out to let me know my lease was expiring and I called and spoke to Anna about downsizing to a Sestos. Anna let me know she was new to the company, but not to worry because she had great people above her and it showed. Both Scott and Amanda provided Anna with some guidance without disrupting the process or making it seemed like she was a novice. I've been at my job for 17 years and I am lucky enough to work in an environment where asking questions is encouraged. Obviously Bill Dodge Kia shares the same philosophy. Anna was a pure joy to work with. It's as if she knew who we were when we walked in the door. She was warm, friendly, very knowledgeable and genuine. You've got a keeper in her. Scott was fantastic showing me all of the finance details and making sure I truly understood everything. When closing out the deal, Amanda was great in helping Anna while also being very friendly and engaging. When we got in the car, Anna left no i undotted and no t uncrossed. Even with this being my 4th Kia, I learned a ton about how this model differs from our last one. I hear nightmare stories all the time from people having bad experiences buying and leasing cars. Quite honestly, I brag about Bill Dodge Kia because I've never had anything but great experiences with them. Something else to know, and it speaks to integrity. We traded in a 2022 Kia Sportage with every bell and whistle known to man. We downsized to a smaller model with a lot less bells and whistles. What I love was that, not once, did Anna or Scott try to convince us to go with a more expensive model or even to stick with a Sportage. Also, they had a few of the same color and model on the lot and Anna put us in one that is two-tone and in our research, we didn't even know it was an option and we LOVE it. It's nice to have a sales team anticipate your wants and needs. Same with Aaron in finance. He saw my history of what add-ons I get and let me tell him what I wanted. I had a deeply disappointing experience with Service Manager Alex Pinto and Manager Patrick Demers. I brought my 2017 Sportage in for a specific Theta 2 Class Action diagnostic and gave explicit instructions to perform ONLY that test. Instead, they ignored my instructions, performed unauthorized work, and billed me $384.68 for diagnostics that didn't even meet the class action requirements (failed to do the KSDS bearing clearance test). When I disputed the bill, management became hostile. Patrick Demers threatened me with immediate storage fees, and they refused to release my vehicle to the AAA driver until I paid for the unauthorized work. I was forced to pay under duress just to get my car back. I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB and the Maine Attorney General regarding these predatory billing practices and violations of the Maine Unfair Trade Practices Act. Well I had some service done on my wife's car , 4 new pirelli tires and alignment, go a quote from service guy Amr, good for 30 days came back within 30 and had it done ; checked my bill and asked why different from quote he said quote didn't include tax and tire disposal fee , which I know we pay. When I got home and checked estimate vs Bill he quoted me $720.00 4 pirelli P zeros, and charged me $765.00, when I dropped over the next day to ask why he say " That's the way it is, " I called the service mgr , Bobby Ramos, who I dealt with before at Berlin City Toyota, he said he would look into and get right back. I scheduled an appointment at 10am for either a badly balanced wheel or drivetrain component that was hopping at between 27-34mph. I arrived promptly. At 1130am, I am still sitting here waiting some type of communication. Complaining? I guess I am. This is my first Kia, and the good ownership experience has yet to take effect. I like the car a lot. We have been loyal customers for many years. We purchased a Sedona first and then a Sorento maybe 10 years or so later (2017), when we traded the Sedona in. We have always used Bill Dodge KIA Service for both cars. I love my Sorento. The service at Bill Dodge KIA not so much. It has been steadily declining over the years to the point that our last interaction was so bad, we will NEVER return. We moved to Bridgton and remained faithful to the service center at Bill Dodge KIA. My air-conditioning has never worked properly and every time I bring it in, they tell me it is working fine or they "fixed" it. So, this summer my brakes and possibly rotors, and air-conditioning, all needed work, so we made an appointment for service. We called in August and could not get in until late September. My husband I shared his truck until then. When we did get in, what a mess! They didn't even look at the car for a few days. When they did, they figured out among the other things, I also had a stuck caliper. Mine are red. No red ones to be found. Asked if I wanted a plain calipers instead. I said I had waited this long, I would wait a bit longer for a red one. We received no updates (unless we asked) and when my husband reached out, the service manager texted back in all caps, like we were harassing him. At one point, he even had someone else contact my husband for an update. When my husband was finally able to speak with him, we asked if they could just get some red caliper paint and make it work. The service manager said that would work. WE had to suggest it. They were not proactive or helpful with finding any solution to the caliper problem. They had the car over two weeks because I was not comfortable driving my car without the caliper being replaced. When we finally picked up my car and as I was driving home, it was still warm enough to try the air-conditioning. I gave it all the way to Sebago Lake in Standish and nothing. It was blowing warm air. My husband reached out to the service manager once again. That is when we also found out there was a note on our invoice saying that something had come unattached while testing the air-conditioning, but when the tech checked it appeared to be blowing cold air. The service manager, asked us to bring it back in for them to check and "make it right". We declined and asked them to make it right by refunding the air-conditioning piece of our bill. He said they would. They did not and have still not, even though we have followed up with them. We will never do business with them again. Again, I absolutely love my Sorento. I feel completely the opposite toward Bill Dodge KIA Service. We had a similar experience like Sadi did, during the same time frame, so I don't feel these are isolated events. read more

My car was brought in on a tow truck on July 10, 2023. I had a very hard time getting in reach with service. They didn't like to respond to voice-mail and when they did they would push the work back a month. Here it is the middle of October and it's still not done. It was a recall for a blown engine. They don't make anything on it so it was put on the back burner. Excuses left and right. They neglect calling to update at all. The only way I found out anything was to finally catch them. I drove by and my car just sat on the lot. Bird poop all over it. He told me it was ready and the mechanic drove it the day before. I drove an hour to get it only to find it with a flat tire and a very loud squealing belt. They said the belt was rusty. How did that happen overnight? Test drove the day before???? So I took it back, waited for them to call. This caused 2 delays in a planned trip. They would not give me a rental so I had to get one as I was not canceling again! When I got back I called and low and behold...my car was supposedly done and running smooth. I again drove an hour after just returning my rental. Guess what? I started the car and there was a very loud rap! So I was sent home with a rental. We waited with him and heard him get authorization from above. I got a call from them the next day saying it wasn't authorized could I bring it back that night. I could not. I had no ride home. She had the nerve to ask me how I had been getting around. (Is that their business? They should be accommodating me after 3 months!) I called the woman back and asked her to have things ready for me (rental that I had to insure) nothing was ready. I've never written a negative Yelp review, but I found my experience with Bill Dodge Kia so absurd that I wanted other potential customers to be aware. In November, I turned in my leased Kia at Bill Dodge along with the keys. A man in the sales department accepted it. I asked him as I turned it in, "don't I need a receipt?" He said, "no, all set" and set my key down on his desk. From our exchange and his level of engagement in our conversation, I had no confidence that he was going to follow through, but he assured me that I had nothing to worry about. Three months later, I've received a $75 bill for a lost key. I called Bill Dodge several times to try and resolve this misunderstanding, but no one ever called me back. I also had Kia's national leasing team call; they, too, did not get a call back from the service department. So, I drove down to Westbrook to discuss the issue and figure out what had gone wrong. I saw the salesman, who had taken my key, sitting at his desk. He had no idea who I was or what I was talking about. He told me he "meets a lot of people." I said I understand and went on to explain our exchange three times. Then, in a truly comical reply, he said, "there are loose keys all over my desk every day" then he held up a fob that looked like the one I had turned in. "Is that mine?" I asked. He said, "no, couldn't be. This is new." Truly, I couldn't have written a more ridiculous scene into a sitcom. Then he called his manager, Chris, over to show me a box where they usually place returned keys. With his prop in hand, Chris and his salesman told me I was wrong, and they couldn't help me. I said, "surely there must be a way to verify I was here." They said, "no" and that was that. So, because I'd really rather be done with this whole ordeal, I just paid the $75 for their mishandling of my key. Meanwhile, I told all of this to Pape Subaru of South Portland, where I purchased a new Crosstrek, and they cut me a check for $75 to make up for Bill Dodge's mistake. I wish I could give them zero stars...I took my car in for basic maintenance including an oil change a couple of weeks ago...over the weekend I noticed that there was an oil stain under my car. Called the dealership and they said that stain I was describing wasn't an oil stain on the driveway and made me feel stupid. The service rep advised that if it's Bill Dodge's fault we will take care of it. When I took it to a local garage, they notice the drain plug was never tighten. It could of been an honest mistake with not tighten the drain plug, but honestly the Service department should of told me to take the car back to the dealership right away and they will look at it. But now I have a bad oil stain in my driveway because some tech couldn't bother to screw in the drain plug. read more

While the gentleman who ran the service department was helpful and friendly, I'm pretty sure their technician stripped my oil tank's plug with a power tool. They then tried to sell me a new oil pan for $400 to stop the leak, suggested also that I not drive the car until I did so. I'm still driving 2 years later, checking my oil often, and only putting about a quart in every few months. I don't know about you, but I can't afford other people's mistakes on such an important possession of mine. On top of that, they call you incessantly after they service your car, "reminding" you about recommended service and using language in their voicemails that suggests something might be wrong with your car and that you should call them back. read more

I really dislike getting my car fixed so right off the bat, most service joints are starting at a negative star position in my book. However, I've had two really goodexperiences with the people at Dodge Kia so I feel the need to give props where it's due. The first time I went was for a service recall so that was fairly painless. I wasn't surprised when they called me to tell me that my 60K check up was due somewhat soon and if I wanted to get it done early, they could take care of it for me. This is, after all, a car dealership. I think every time I have ever brought my car anywhere I get the traditional call of "Oh, we found this obscure thing that you might want to think about also getting done - it costs a lot too!". NO THANKS! That being said, I WAS surprised at how fast they were able to turn my car around. I dropped it off at 9 a.m. and it was ready by 1:30 - not too shabby. The second more recent instance was for the aforementioned 60K check up that I waited to get done after 60K. Given the cost of the work that was 'recommended' I decided to play it straight and simply stated I don't have the money to do everything, I know there must be some things that aren't totally REQUIRED so what items do I absolutely need to get done so I don't weep myself to sleep over my debt? I ended up getting a tiny portion of what was listed done, they turned my car around quickly, they had the nicest shuttle man who dropped me off and picked me up at my house AND it was overall the least painful and annoying car service experience I have ever had. Finally, the guy who runs the service department is AWESOME. He is WICKED FRIENDLY LOVES HIS JOB type awesome. I would like to comment on our recent experience with Bill Dodge Kia. Recently, we recieved a recall notice for a taillight problem with our 2008 Kia Sportage. My wife brought it in for the service and also asked to include an inspection sticker. We were outraged at the following practice- so much so that I decided to write this review. I am also going to be posting this on all your reviews such as Facebook and Angie's list. In addition, we will never bring our Kia back to you for service, let alone even thinking of buying another car from you. Our Kia Sportage 2008 is a very low mileage car. It has only 39,000 miles. We service it regularly at Back Bay Auto and because of the added distance to Westbrook, we do not bring it to Bill Dodge on a regular basis. My wife was told the following: 1) The Kia needed new rear brake rotors. I am attaching a copy of the receipt from the brake work that had been performed in February 2013. The rear rotors (which your mechanic had claimed to be rusty) are in fact brand new. 2) The Kia's oil pan was rusty. She was told that if she did not agree to the service, that she could lose all the oil. I had taken the car to our mechanic today and he claims that it is just surface rust. 3) The Kia's timing belt had to be changed. Personally, I have worked on cars myself and I have never heard of changing timing belts at 39,000 miles. With all due respect, Kia recommends that the timing belt be changed at 60,000 miles regardless of driving conditions 4) The Kia needs transmission work. She was told that the service would be $189 and that the warranty would be voided if she did not agree to the service. Suffice to say that we service all our cars on a regular basis. It may be that we do not do it through Bill Dodge. It is unnecessary to frighten somebody ( especially a female and somebody who is not familiar with cars) by mentioning warranties. There are many competent mechanics and auto repair shops besides that of Bill Dodge. In the end, I told my wife to go and get the car. We never did get the inspection sticker. There are other shops which also do state inspections also. If we have lost the trust for a simple thing like an inspection sticker, how then can we trust you for a new car? read more

It has taken me three months to write this,as I have been very happy with Bill Dodge of Westbrook,as I have purchased three car for my family. However I have had two very upsetting contact with the dealership. Firstly;i tried to buy a new 2018 Kia Sorento,and the sales over the phone caused me to consider leasing at some seemingly great monthly,of around $300 per month,and they would buy my car at a very reasonable price,a low mileage 13 Kia Sorento. I asked several times about the purchase of my Kia,and at that time,i did not get answers,about it directly,but he kept telling me how Kia was happy to lease me a car.To make a long story short,Bill Dodge was going to give me a bath. This was the real deal..I get about 13k for my car;which the kept in order to give me a car,at the above figure.What this really meant was a monthly of about $700.00,meaning that after three years I would be out about 27k,for the use of a 2018...All the time,he never said a word,until I said, "Do you think I am that stupid?" The sales mgr called me back,with a semi apology,but yes,it would cost the 27k. This conversation would have never take place,if the salesman had been up front! Second time it was abain bait and switch. Here is what happened.Because I had purchased my Kisa through the Saco Kia/Bill Dodge,i called there and a price for the 2018 Kia awd,was{I was told 27k},plus wath ever Kelly Book said it as worth. The sales lady said I should go to the Wesbrook/BD,as the deal would be the same,but closer to me.I asked her,that she inform the sales mgr of our talks,and she would let him know. So I drove the hour plus to Westbrook,and I was escourted in to the sales mgr office,and yes he was told I was coming in,but his face told me,he was not informed,nor would anything she offered be honored,as she was not in position to do so. So now,this goes on for about four hours,plus my drive times of two hours. In any event,the car offered at 27 k,was now 34k. At this point with many hours of conversation,i left. Now,there was a semi apology,and there was no attempt or suggestion,that as they screwed up,they pay my gas or an oil change..Nope!
