I recently bought a 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 HD from Bill Dodge GMC in Westbrook. The experience was much better than most car buying that i have had. The team was very friendly and efficient. Thank you for all your help. read more

Service was great, buying was great! Quick, easy, and fun! I look forward to purchasing my next new vehicle there!

The customer service was embarrassing. The outcome is less important than the attitude to me. I understand that mistakes happen. I moved to Maine earlier this year after purchasing a brand new GMC Sierra AT4 in Michigan at the end of December 2021. As I'm sure you're aware, there was a chip shortage, and GMC provided an IOU to install chips in the truck at a later date that were not available as of the date of purchase. I received my letter from GMC that those chips were ready to be installed earlier this fall, and called Bill Dodge (my closest GMC dealership) to have the chips installed and to claim my initial one-year service on the truck. I asked that the two items be handled together as I'm an extremely busy person working an extremely demanding job. Because of the timing of getting the chips, the earliest I could be scheduled was (approx.) 6 or 7 weeks into the future, or Monday December 15th. Because of my busy schedule, I asked when scheduling the call how long it would take to be sure I blocked the appropriate times on my calendar. I was told that it would all be done in a single business day. (I blocked off an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon to drop off and pick up the truck, just to be safe). I dropped my truck off on Monday morning. There were no issues. The gentleman at the desk took the key, checked that the parts were in (and confirmed that they were in), and arranged for me to get a ride home. He also asked if I needed a ride back later that day. I wasn't sure (my wife would be home from work that afternoon and she could have given me a ride depending on when the truck was done). He told me they would call later that day when the work was done, and we could determine at that time whether I needed a ride. I did not hear back from the dealership on Monday. I did not hear from the dealership on Tuesday. For two days, I gave the dealership the benefit of the doubt. On Wednesday morning I called because I was a bit concerned that the service was taking so long. When I asked about my truck, the man was confused. He said he'd check on it. When he came back on the phone, he said "I see it in the system, they haven't started working on it yet." He did not offer an apology and he did not offer an ETA. I was a little miffed - mistakes happen, but you cannot forgive a mistake unless someone takes responsibility for that mistake. I told him that I would hold while he checked with the manager (or anyone) to get an ETA, noting that the service was now two days late and I would need my vehicle later that afternoon, and if the service were not complete, I would need to rent a vehicle, and I would expect the dealership to cover the cost. He was annoyed at the request, but put me on hold and went to check with someone. When he came back, he assured me that the truck would be serviced that day before 2 pm eastern. I got a call later that morning/early afternoon. "The good news" he explained, "is that the truck is ready to be picked up . . . the bad news, is that we don't have the chip to install for the heated seats." So, my experience wasn't very good. The dealership did half of the job it was supposed to do. It took 3 times as long as they said it would. And no one was particularly apologetic or empathetic until I got miffed and explained that, in my view, it was unacceptable. read more

Paid for service plan & extended warranty, but the Service manager Steve & GM Patrick could not even see the warranty in their computer system. So, vehicle went in for oil change, tire rotation and inspection sticker. 2019 Terrain 41k and needed passenger's side wiper blade for a sticker. Couldn't even come out to the waiting room and address the issue instead they called our home phone and sent an email saying a a wipe was needed and it would be $80 for wipes!!! Gets better, when the vehicle was turned over it was pointed out the front passenger's seat was moving up and down. Well, it was said the bolts were checked and tight & if we wanted it checked further then an appointment would be needed, and we would have to pay for the appointment if nothing was found to be wrong. Well already know there is something wrong!!! 1.5 hours later, no sticker, seat fixed or even checked and a request to pay them $80 for wiper blades [which I got RainX at Walmart for $23.00]. So talked with Steve in charge of the Service Department {Call was recorded} Steve have now desire to talk with me and even said I yelled at him. LIE. Steve said my vehicle was out of warrantee and if GM would not cover the coast to figure out want was wrong with my seat, then I would have to pay. He could not even see there was an extended coverage, and I did not say anything. He was rude and could care less. His reason the seat was not check was because his guy get a flat rate and he would not expect them to spend an hour on my seat. AGAIN about the $$$$ not the customer. I then talked with the GM named Patrick, he backed Steve and he too was rude. At one point I mistakenly called him Steve and he said this is Patrick, I want you to have the names straight when you tell this story. {Professional Not} All customers should be treated the same, doesn't matter if you have purchased one vehicle of 6 like I had over the course of 8 years or so. Patrick then told my he had given my options and I pointed out he had not, I told me I would have to set up an appointment and pay for it to find out what is wrong with my seat. When both Steve and Patrick were asked if a passenger's seat that is rarely used in a $40,000+ vehicle should last more than four years..........NEITHER WOULD ANSWER. The two could not tell me if a seat in the cars the sell and service should last more the 3 years. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Both SALE and Service. YOU cannot do one stop shopping here. RUDE AND ONLY ABOUT THE$ not the truth!! read more

It's a trip for me to use bill Dodge, about an hour. And maybe more expencive than a local shop, but service has always been reliable, done right the first time. Been using them for more than a decade. For that, I'm willing to make the https://youtu.be/jQftVpFL6BE drive. Service personal has changed but the quality remains the same. If you find a place you trust, stick with them. read more

Horrible service experience. Completely disorganized. I am a long time customer..have purchased 3 new trucks from them. Having tires installed... they threw out a new one & reinstalled an old one and a one hour job turned into 1 & 1/2 days of mistake after mistake. Beware. I will never use them again read more

Water pump blew enroute North from Connecticut to Acadia National Park. With no advanced notice the service shop jumped to, assessed our BMW early, and fixed our mechanical problems without causing further holiday delays. Best of all their rates were cheaper than what it would have cost us at home from a secondary service provider, without a doubt a lot less costly than the BMW dealership where we live! Only downside is that they really weren't the best in communication skills in terms of giving us updates. Said it would be ready at one time and it was a whole other time - while on vacation that was cumbersome to manage... read more

Bill Dodge Buick GMC - Car Dealers Near Me - Westbrook, Maine

This is my third Buick from Bill Dodge and they have always treated me very well. I've had two Buick Encores and now I've stepped up to the Buick Envision. The service I've gotten on my two previous cars was fantastic and I'm sure the same will be the case with my Envision. Dave Durocher is a great guy and takes the time to show you the ins and outs of the App. I highly recommend Dave. read more

We bought our new Buick in 2018. Prior to that we were a Honda family. We are VERY happy with our Buick Enclave and the gold service we receive from Bill Dodge. We can't speak highly enough about the dealership and service department. They listened and knew exactly what we wanted. My eyes lit up 2 minutes after hearing them say "Wait, from what you are describing I think I know exactly what you are hoping for"...... and they sure did. So much new technology in it, but they spent a good 1.5 hours plus some going over each button, setting, and thingamajig making sure it was set up for our preferences and so we understood how to use each feature when we picked the car up to take it home. read more

Incompetence at it's worst. I brought my car in for its 60K Scheduled maintenance, and was assured they went by the manufacturer's recommendation. The day after I got my car serviced, the Check Engine light went on. In 3 years of owning that vehicle it had NEVER come on before. I brought it back and they called me to say I needed new spark plugs, that the old ones were fouled. I inquired why the $400 scheduled maintenance I had the day before hadn't divulged that fact. Their answer was "We don't check the spark plugs". I know enough about cars to know spark plugs need to be checked any time you do maintenance. I called the manufacturer and was assured that they should have checked them. In fact, the manufacturer lists replacing the spark plugs at 60K as part of scheduled maintenance. I then called several other dealer services centers and was told that they check the spark plus for any scheduled maintenance, on any car, at any degree of age or wear, and that is an industry standard. (I already knew this and you probably do too). So something they should have caught and fixed for the price of the plugs, I got socked for $100 of shop time. read more

The only reason that I provided a 1 star is because it is the only option. I have more problems out of my vehicle more now than when it was "fixed" by bill dodge. The customer service is horrendous and main woman you speak to will not help you in any way. The management ensures that they do not get back to you. I started having problems with my vehicle right after repairs were completed and upon calling to use the warranty they supposedly provided they refused to fix the vehicle because it was "not covered" under the warranty even without looking at the car to make that assumption. Do not ever go to this place to get your vehicle serviced. read more

I bought my Hyundai at Bill Dodge Brunswick and it was the most seamless transaction ever. We had been to place after place getting quotes and when we ended up at BD and asked them if they'd match the best quote we had, they beat it instead. Boom, done. Also their service department is wonderful, super super nice. 1 star deduction for price of services in the auto shop, which is pretty standard at the dealer but ridiculous nonetheless. Also, I have received this great service at both Brunswick and Portland service centers. The shuttle back to my office while they worked on my car was great! read more

Just purchased a used Explorer Eddie Bauer from Bill Dodge; had a great experience. Corresponded extensively via email with Brandon Chase and he was very patient and thorough. They were able to set me up with financing that fit my budget and we're looking forward to dealing with them in the future. read more

I brought my vehicle in for a state inspection and they found some legitimate problems including a problem I was aware of, a non-functioning door handle. I paid them nearly $1,000 to repair the other items and decided to repair the door handle myself. I returned within a week to have the car re-inspected and their representative broke my door handle before the inspection could even begin. I had used the handle numerous times since repairing it and it didn't break when I was using it. I've certainly experienced better. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I called enroute to the dealership that there was a slot for me. It was obvious that Natalie (phone rep) did some jiggling around to get me in. Just needed my license plate bulb replaced so I could scoot back to the inspection place and finish my state inspection. They whisked me and in ~15 minutes I was paid for and on the road. Matt was tech and Jeff was the service guy. Great all around. Thanks! read more

Never by from them. They have you come back several days in a row because the sales manager or finance manger is never there. When they owe you money on your trade in they will forget to send the check until you ask them where it is 13 days later when your supposed to have it in ten days. You will get the response we just cut it today it will be there in a few more days (aka they forgot). Don't deal with their BS! read more

Our salesman, Steve Miles, made buying our new vehicle a very pleasant experience! He went out of his way to make sure we were going to be happy with our purchase from the time we started "looking' to weeks later, making our decision on the make and model, the actual purchase and finally driving off the lot in our new vehicle. We never experienced any pressure to "buy." Steve was very knowledgeable of the vehicles we considered and he took the time to show us all of the features and what we needed to know before driving off the dealer lot. The folks at Bill Dodge are very professional and friendly. The whole experience was very positive. read more

the service writer lied to us on the status of our repair. I truly believe that if I didn't contact the service manager Matt Taiani we would not have our vehicle repaired and returned to our expectations. Although strides were made to 'right the wrong' our experience has left us less than satisfied and certainly not trusting Bill Dodge in the future. Our vehicle is still experiencing glitches with the navigation and voice control. read more

I went in to look at a vehicle on a Saturday and was told it was at another dealership. They asked me to come back in an hour and a half which I did and upon arrival they told me they "couldn't find" the vehicle. I went back the following Monday once the vehicle was "found". After a week of going back and forth we made a deal. I called the sales rep on Saturday a little after 8am and asked if we could come over that morning as we were going to take the deal they were offering. She stated she had to confirm with her manager and would call "right back". An hour and a half later we called her and left a message asking for a return call as we had plans that day. She called back and said her sales manager had come in late but the deal was all set. We asked if we could come right over. She stated the vehicle had to be brought back from another location and it couldn't be done until 11am. All the people who transported vehicles were at a "parade". They were also going to change out the tires as part of the deal as the ones on the vehicle were cupped. She stated she would call as soon as the vehicle arrived but scheduled delivery for 3pm. We never heard back from her. At 2pm I called and left a voicemail that we wanted to confirm delivery for 3pm. She called back 15 minutes later and said the vehicle was there and was currently having tires put on. She stated we could come over any time. We got ready to go and as I was getting into my vehicle someone called from Bill Dodge (not our rep) stating the vehicle had been sold that morning at another location. WHAT? My husband was completely caught of guard and ended the call. I immediately called back and left a message with the sales manager and our sales rep. The sales manager never bothered to call us back. Our sales rep finally called back and stated she was calling from her private cell phone as she was so upset at what they did to us. She stated she told her sales manager it wasn't right. The sale manager had said no deposit, no sale. I stated that we didn't have a time scheduled to look at the vehicle but a time for delivery and had she asked for a deposit I would have given her a credit card. She stated she told the sales manager the same thing but he didn't care! I sent an email to the general manager on Saturday and didn't receive a response. On Monday I resent the email. I got a voice mail Monday stating I could call him back which I did and left my cell number for a return call. It is now Tuesday at 8:35pm and I haven't received a return call. The customer service is HORRIBLE!!!!! read more

Do NOT trust these people. We learned an expensive lesson. It looks great when they offer a low-mileage used car at an attractive price, but beware the "wholesale" offer, which allows them to squeeze around lemon laws. This is how they unload cars with serious safety and mechanical problems. They'll even give you a list of seemingly trivial items that don't pass their version of state inspection, because they claim dealer inspections hold to a "higher standard" than your favorite corner garage. So you buy the car prepared to put a little extra money into those seemingly trivial items only to find that your mechanic and your friend's mechanic both disagree with the dealer's "higher standard" assessment and find a whole lot more that's seriously wrong with the car. At that point, Bill Dodge will tell you inspections are all subjective, and won't budge on other mechanics' failure of items they claimed to be fine. Now you're looking at a really expensive repair bill (probably near if not more than the value of the car) and no legal recourse because you knew the car wasn't perfect when you bought it. (Hint: If they won't let you take it on public roads during a test drive, don't buy it!) Learned my lesson. I'll never shop here again. read more

I don't know about the other Bill Dodge Dealerships, but, the one in Westbrook needs to really get their customer service in check! I inquired about a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe w/ 115,503 miles on it, was contacted, and drove over an hour and 20 min. to see it, just to find out that there was some confusion, and my inquiry was for a 2009 Santa Fe, and that the 2007 was in Brunswick. Alicia, whom I spoke to in Westbrook, said she had "No Idea" where the vehicle was, and had no way to find out? Hmm, curious, since all I did when I got home, another hour and 20 min. drive was look on my computer and low and behold, it was in Brunswick! So, I called there, they said they would bring it to Westbrook for me to look at the next day. So, the next day, I drove another hour and 20 min., back to Westbrook to look at it, and it was there, not in nearly as good condition as I had expected, a nice gouge on the right bumper, cracked plastic that covers the odometer, and I could not even test drive it because the drivers seat was stuck in the furthest forward position! And then came my trade, they wanted to give me $5,000 for my 2008, ( a year newer than theirs) new tires, no rust, better condition, and 35,000 LESS miles than the 2007 Santa Fe, which they were asking $8,992, which was way too much. So, with what I owed on my Trade, and what they were going to give me, the 2007 Santa Fe would have been about $17,992! Laughable in my opinion! Seriously guys? So, I said I don't think so! So, again another hour and 20 min. back home, and accomplished NOTHING, but being very insulted, and very annoyed! This dealership thinks that their cars are worth Gold, when most of there wholesale vehicles, need hundreds, even thousands of dollars worth of work, which they will have to do BEFORE you can drive them away, hence making more money off you, but, your trade is worth peanuts to them! The 2007 was not a wholesale vehicle, and was inspected, but, they could have come down in the price, and worked with me, but, instead chose to turn me away, and then sent me an E-Mail on Car Gurus asking me to call the Manager at the Westbrook Dealership! Why would I even want to ever deal with you again? I will stick to purchasing my vehicles in N.H. Thank You! 4 Hours of driving time and mileage on my vehicle wasted, not to mention a Migraine! read more
