I co-signed on car loan with my nephew on a 2018 Honda Civic in May 2023 at the lot on Stanford drive, but my nephew committed suicide in Nov 2023 leaving me with a car I did not need. I went back to Bill Cole auto mall and asked them how much they would give me to buy the car back. They had charged me $18000+ for the car 6 months earlier and it did have some minor damage to the rear fender and about 10K more miles on it but the blue book was 12-14K. They offered me $8500 for the same car they told me was worth $18000+ just 6 mos earlier. $10000 less and the only excuse they could give was 'well it does have some damage we will have to fix'. So did you rip me off the first time Bill Cole or were you trying to rip me off the second time? Congratulations Bill Cole you have lived up to the stereotype of the sleazy used car salesmen. If you buy an automobile here do not deal with Ronald. We had the unfortunate experience of meeting him this past weekend. He not only was rude and condescending. He lied to us just to cut another salesmans throat that we had previously spoken with. We did end up buying at this dealership. The commision from our purchase should have went to Chris. He was the first person we spoke with. He was nice and very helpful. I think it was very unfair that he was not the person to benefit from our purchase. read more

I looked at a New car in March 2019 ......Sales, Finance (Zack Frame) and Manager (Brandon Goins) are dishonest, told numerous lies and deceptions, even made personal threats.......But that is what Bill Cole wants them to do. Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Princeton, WV - May 15, 2019 I was offered a job last fall and accepted thinking it would be something I could do while a better job came along but I was horribly wrong. My first day was on a Monday morning and the first thing they do as a company is have a sales meeting with all of the sales/finance managers and sales personnel. I was in really high spirits until I started hearing things in the meeting that I wasn't too thrilled with along with something that made me extremely uncomfortable. Needless to say my excitement over my new job didn't last long... Basically they want you to do anything and everything to sell a car such as lie to the customers, pick up a phone book when not busy and start cold calling people and use you're own personal social media accounts to basically annoy everyone you know with constant posts about cars for sale. Also customer profiling was talked about which basically meant you judge people based on how they look and their current car on what you think they can afford and what cars you show them in the lot. The part about sales there that I have another issue with is something they don't want many people knowing about. They have a loan company targeted towards low income individuals they they advertise under a different name on billboards and other means of advertisement. When people need a car loan and they have bad credit they see these advertisements and call the number provided not knowing that they are actually calling Bill Cole Auto Mall here in the area. They lie about who they are to the customer, tell them that they are approved for a car loan and then tell the customer where they can go locally to buy the car... which is you guessed it!!! Bill Cole Auto Mall!!! They tell the customer "The only car dealership in your area that participates with is is Coles and you can go there and speak with sales". That to me is unethical business practices that I want no part of and something that everyone in this area needs to know is happening. The manager that hired me is the bully type of manager. You know the type... he was the jock/meat head kinda guy all through out high school and college that partied all the time and now as a grown man acts the same way and comes off as bully to everyone but thinks he's funny but he's really not. During the morning meeting this man told me and the other new guy that we had to be initiated as new employees in the next Monday morning sales meeting. He said me and the new guy had to get together in our free time and come up with a song and dance to perform in front of everyone. I'm sorry but I didn't apply for a job at this company to be hazed in front of 50-60 some people. To me this was highly embarrassing and is the main reason that after the meeting I walked to my car and I left. I felt completely mortified at the thought of having to do such a thing that it nearly caused me to have a panic attack. This manager was so unprofessional that I don't understand how he still has a job. The interview process with him was also very rude and disrespectful to me because the entire time he interviewed me in the KIA building he had rap music with explicit lyrics playing on his phone in his office along with another person (I would assume another sales person) just sitting there. It was by far the worst interview environment I have ever been a participant in and it should have raised all kinds of red flags but at the time I just needed a job and tried to ignore it. read more

I took my 2014 Subaru Forester into Cole's Automall for a noise I'd started hearing and the problem was found and resolved quickly. They also did a 60,000 mile tune up and inspection. After the tune up, my gas mileage went back up the five extra miles I had lost!! All of the people I had any dealings with during this time were EXCEPTIONAL to work with. They were very friendly and told me exactly what they were doing and what I needed to have done, along the way. Just wish they were not so far from me and that automotive work wasn't so costly. My experience with the dealership was mixed- I was satisfied with my purchase, the interest rate, and the overall experience (Lonnie does a great job), but I was not satisfied with the micro chip (data dots) tracker being required in my car for $400+ extra dollars. The chances of a Versa with a manual transmission being stolen and chopped up are very close to zero. I understand that Mr. Cole is looking to the best interest of his customers, but I would have appreciated the option of opting out. read more

I recently got a used car, and after purchase found something hanging under the car. After having it for 2 DAYS I called the dealer and he made me a service appt to have it checked. I was told it was nothing to worry about, and if I wanted it fixed i would have to pay!! I was also told I had done this damage to my own car!! I wonder how many other customers that have been screwed by Cole! I would've never got the car if I'd known they weren't going to fix it! read more

I had my vehicle listed for sale. This dealership contacted me and said they would be interested in buying it. I explained to them I live an hour away from their dealership and I do not want to waste my time with any crazy low offers. They assured me that would not be the case and that it was very likely they could do better than trade in value, somewhere in between that and private party value. I go to the dealership they appraise my vehicle which is two years old and in very good condition. They then offer me 2,000-3,000 less than KBB or NADA trade in value. I understand dealerships need to make money but they do not need to rob or mislead customers and waste their time. My morning was wasted at this dealership and I was mislead and insulted. Lied about car having a warranty to try to get me to come see a vehicle when I lived over an hour away. After cancelling to come see it after I pressed them on the warranty, they still call me from multiple different numbers everyday continually for weeks on end. This review concerns unethical business practices. The two employees of Bill Cole that are involved are Chris Dyer salesman, and Jared Morrison final numbers. We went to this dealership to test drive a new Legacy. Chris assured us they could meet or beat any other dealers price. We had them appraise our trade in which was $2,000.00 less then the quote we have already receive. We decided we would buy the car outright. I contacted Jared to make sure that was all right he assured me that the price quoted would remain the same. We drove 2 hours and 80 plus miles and spent approximately 1 1/2 hours at the dealership. When we got to the final price Jared added $469.00 to it for a security activation charge for the data dots. We told him we did not want that and it was a deal breaker. These data dots are installed by the dealership not by Subaru. We were ordering the car directly for Subaru the dots would not of been on the car per Subaru customer service. Summary: They did not meet or beat there competitors price. They low ball our trade by $2,000.00. They added a undisclosed item of $469.00 to the final price. They wasted a afternoon of our time.
