September 2014 we wanted to have our kitchen and upstairs bathroom done before the holidays, because we entertain a lot and our kitchen and bathroom needed updating. Our house was built in 1970, and definitely needed a makeover. I researched contractors, and called Bildco and 2 other contractors in for some bids. We wanted to get 3 quotes, and get creative ideas for our kitchen and bathroom. Because my wife is a perfectionist, I wanted to make sure the contractor I hired was meticulous with his work. After interviewing the 3 contractors, it was very clear to my wife and I, that Mike at Bildco was the contractor that we wanted to use. He was an utmost professional from the start, calling me back right away when I called for an estimate, and showing up at my house 15 minutes prior to our meeting. Today you are lucky to have a contractor call you back, and when they do, they want to find out over the phone how much you want to spend and see if the job is worth it for them. Mike did not do that, he just said when would you like to meet, I will see you then. On our first appointment with Mike, he made my wife and I feel very comfortable, and did not just try to sell us a kitchen and bathroom. He brought pictures of jobs he had done in the past and spent a lot of time with us, really trying to make sure that he understood what we wanted. The pictures of previous jobs really helped, because he showed us different ways to design the kitchen and bathroom. After discussing which contractor to use, we decided to go with Bildco. Bildco was reasonably priced, made us feel comfortable, and his work looked really good. We decided to have it done October, and Mike suggested we go to a few places he recommended to look at some tile, appliances and fixtures. We picked out the materials and then we ordered it so it was ready for an October start. October came and the work started, and we were a little nervous because contractors are usually a little messy. On the first day, Bildco came in and prepared the area in a neat and orderly fashion. My wife was watching like a hawk, and I was walking on eggshells making sure that they did not make a mess. Mike and his crew did not disappoint, they had everything in the house covered, so no dust would get on items in the house and put tarps and runners down on the floor. Everyday when they left, their cleanup was unbelievable, nothing left around and ready to go for the next day. We were very pleased to see the meticulous detail, which made us feel more comfortable with our decision to use Bildco. We were happy to see that the job was finished in November and done before the holidays rolled in, as promised. The bathroom and kitchen came out beautiful, even better than expected. All our quests who came during the holidays commented on how beautiful it turned out. Ironically one of our guests actually were in the market to do their kitchen and we gave them Bildco's number, and they are using Bildco to do their kitchen in March. I met Mike Welsch, the owner of Bildco while he was renovating a condo for my mother's neighbor in 2012 . Because he was overhauling the entire unit I got a first-hand look at all the types and quality of work I could expect from him and our frequent interaction during the construction provided me with an insight into his character. Before he completed that job I hired him to redo the guest bathroom in my mother's condo. I was impressed that he wouldn't even start my job until he had completed his current job to the owners' satisfaction. I didn't bother getting multiple bids, I've had enough experience with other contractors to know his pricing was good and I had no doubt I would be pleased with his craftsmanship. I definitely was and now my mother routinely gets compliments from everyone who sees it. Based on these 2 jobs he is actively sought out by others in the condo complex for all their construction needs... nobody has been disappointed! I had wanted to replace the deck at my home for several years. In this case I actually have had multiple companies come to my house to bid for the work but it's a tricky property with severe elevation changes and they provided ball park estimates while on site but never followed up with a firm written proposals. In the past, the money I had earmarked for the deck ended up going to other projects but this year the deck could no longer be denied; it needed to be replaced. Because this was a super complicated job I contacted a company that specializes in deck construction. This time they actually did provide a firm estimate but it was high and didn't address all aspects of the work I wanted to get done. So I once again reached out to Mike. His experience in drafting proved extremely valuable to designing our new multi-angled deck with a storage component under the highest portion. Because of Mike's fair pricing I was able to use the upgraded materials I would have abandoned if I went with the other company. Mike also recommended a house painter that provided exceptional work at a very reasonable price. My husband and I are thrilled with the finished result and the value of our house has been substantially increased. By now, Mike is like a little (younger, certainly not smaller!) brother to both me and my husband. I was amused to learn that the other people he had done work for in the condo complex regard him as a son. He's a wonderful guy who has expertise in all areas of residential construction, employs a great crew of laborers who are diligent and pleasant, and uses subcontractors who perform their part of your project to the highest caliber, all at a very competitive cost. We worked with Bildco (Mike Welsch) for our 1st floor house renovation. It was a full gut job - walls, ceiling, floors, windows, electrical, living room, dining room, bathroom, kitchen - all removed down to the studs. It was our biggest project to date and Bildco / Mike made it smooth. Mike's work is absolutely meticulous - he's light years ahead of other contractors. What makes him different is this: he truly cares about his work at your house and he is always on the job site. This is a big deal because when a plumber is working at your place, he ensures that everything goes correctly instead of learning two weeks later that a permanent pipe was put in the wrong place. He also has a great personality and is easy to work with - which helps a lot! He's very honest, trustworthy and reliable - he was always reachable even after the workday was over. Lastly, it should be noted that the subcontractors Mike works with (masonry, electricians, plumber, etc) are top notch and share his same qualities. We highly recommend Bildco and hope to work with Mike again in the future - we can't say enough nice things about Mike and his work. We recently completed a major renovation in Fort Salonga that included adding a large two-car garage, and I cannot say enough about Mike, the owner of Bildco. We are the original homeowners and after 39 years have had several contractors here. Mike Welsch, Bilco, has done four projects here, large and small. I will plainly tell anyone he is the ONLY  contractor I will ever have here again. The quality of his work, honesty, cleanliness and quite frankly the fact that if I'm not happy with something he goes out of his way to make whatever it is to my specifications. I'm very picky in many ways and he always has patience . Just finished a month long job here ( latest work included full bathroom remodel and exterior siding ) and now we are sitting back and enjoying the view!
