Whew!!! That was hot!! Amazing practice!!

In love, love, love, love with Bikram Yoga Delray Beach studio!!! I seriously make the drive from West Palm Beach because it is soooo worth it!!! What I love about this studio: - The teachers!!! My faves are Jon, Cole, and Milly to name a few.... they are each so amazing, motivating, encouraging, and uplifting! - The studio!! It's really nice, always clean, great hardwood flooring, ample mirrors, convenient locker rooms with full showers.... it's just really a great overall space :) - The schedule!! I love that the studio is open everyday!!! That's so awesome!! I think it's one of the few yoga and gym studios that offers 7 day practice with great time selections! Love the weekend 4pm classes :D perfect for after the beach! And best but not least, - The VIBE!!!!

I'm updating my original review since I've maintained a regular practice at this studio for over 6 months now. I try to practice anywhere from 4 to 7 times per week to keep on top of my practice by improving my flexibility and strength, and have subsequently dropped 22 pounds. This Bikram studio is EXCELLENT in keeping to Bikram's prescribed methodology of practice. If you've only taken hot yoga, but never taken Bikram, plan on 26 postures done twice, with 2 breathing exercises. This is not simply a hot yoga class. It is a Bikram yoga class, so be sure not to get the two mixed up. The room is heated to 105 with humidity pumped in, and the teachers each have their own style but are fantastic in reminding us what's expected in a Bikram class -- focusing on yourself in the mirror, listening to the dialogue, breathing through your nose, and remembering that each day is different and only pushing yourself as far as your body will take you on any given day. It's a practice. Each day is different, though the asanas will always remain the same. In all of the studios I've visited over the years, this has the most caring and passionate group of teachers I've been lucky to practice with. Thank you!

Namaste!! The front desk at Bikram Yoga Delray Beach :) I like it HOT!!

I really feel like I have to share this I booked an 8:15am Vinyasa class in what I thought would be a refreshing, fun new experience. I arrived early to a pretty big parking lot for a standalone business. Parked in a corner spot along the left wall. I parked at the same time as a girl who said hi to me as we both got out of our cars. She ended up being the instructor. The studio was big inside. However, I noticed it was heated. It didn't specify this in the class description. It just said "Vinyasa". I would have liked to know though so I could mentally prepare better, but I'll live. Out of everything else that happened here, I'll take this 100 times. So I set up in the back. I had an older lady next to me. Couldn't hear majority of the class due to the music being so loud/being in the back. So I felt a little clueless at times. It also smelled so bad, like feet & sweat and straight up uncleanliness. 15 minutes til the end of class, I start to get tired. I'm catching my breath & taking a break (as I wasn't really prepared for a hot yoga class anyway). I had my phone on the lowest possible brightness you could have it, I checked it for maybe 20 seconds. When all of the sudden the older lady next to me rudely snaps at me saying, "you know there's no phones allowed here. right?". I said to her, I have kids. She rolled her eyes at me. So I told her to mind her business. Because what? I have so many questions. I couldn't chill at the end when we did Savasana. I ended up leaving at 9:13. Only to come out to the parking lot & I'm completely blocked in. & my phone screen conveniently & randomly froze during this time. So I wasn't able to get a picture of it. The one girl behind me left. But I still couldn't fully reverse; there was another car next to her that needed to move for me to leave. It's 9:22am at this point, class ended 7 mins ago. I thankfully allotted time for me to afford a little runoff, but I still didn't want to sit there not knowing when I'd be able to leave. So I finally saw the owner walking towards her car, she unlocks it, sees that she's blocking me in, sees I'm in reverse. Waiting, patiently. I'm not being rude or rushing, just waiting. & then she suddenly just closes her door, locks it, & starts walking back to the studio. So I open my car door, & yell "hey can you please move your car?" and she says "yeah I just have to get something inside". Not concerned, no sense of urgency. But she comes back. I don't have music on so I can hear everything. & I hear her say out loud "why the f*** did you park there". Oh? Wow. So I opened my door & I said "It's my first time at this studio, sorry". Like? Seriously wow. And there's no sign, nothing that blocks that spot off. Not the instructor - who parked next to me & at the same time as me - let me know, 'hey don't park there'. Nobody and nothing alluded to me not parking in that spot. Yet I was still blocked in & cursed at. I also want to mention that even with the amount of people & cars in this lot, there was still room to make another row/fit the 2 cars that were behind me blocking me in, in the middle of the lot. It was just completely unnecessary. But not once was I rude about it or disrespectful. Yet I was met with nasty, disrespectful & quite the opposite behavior that I'd expect from people just coming out of a supposedly "reputable" yoga studio & class. I booked this class to feel better about things going on in my life & honestly I felt better before I took the class. I regret coming. It set my day off to a horrible start & the only positive out of this is knowing now that I don't have to ever come back. 0 stars if I could & please treat people with kindness. First & last class here.

As a student of yoga for over 20 years (and a teacher for over 15 years), I appreciate the rigorous training required to achieve certification in the Iyengar lineage. I feel Iyengar certification is the gold standard for yoga instructors. It ensures a level of quality and consistency, based on the level of certification awarded. This "levels-based" certification structure, encourages teachers to continue to study and gain deeper insights. For new yoga students, I always recommend an Iyengar certified teacher, when available. They are adept at working with physical injuries and helping to restore balance in a gentle and effective way. If you have the chance to take a class taught by a senior level teacher (like Colleen Gallagher), the experience is like dining at a Michelin star restaurant. Thoughtfully sequenced and timed, each pose prepares you for the next and there is enough space between poses to digest and assimilate. The nuance that a senior teacher brings to class is what often leads students to an "ah ha" moments. It could be a physical, emotional or spiritual insight. Colleen teaches a Saturday morning "Strong" class that is challenging and fun. I love that I always learn something new in her class. You will feel like the class is being tailored for you, as she instructs with precise words, which, if followed, will verbally adjust your body and guide you toward a balanced perspective. Today I had the pleasure of taking a class with Laura Plofchan. A consummate learner, her teaching style is fresh and fun. We went heavy on the props (blocks, bolsters, blankets and chairs) as she took us on a journey to the heart (i.e., back bends). I feel grounded, yet light. A perfect start to my weekend. In conclusion (finally) -- get a pass and GO! You can't go wrong with any of the teachers here. Namaste.

Got lucky, well, sort of, by just trying it when I went to charge my car. The cafe is the only coffee place in this shopping maul (spelled correctly) that has killed more stores and eateries than is normal for a center this new. A few weeks, a shift to a weaker coffee, and a couple of staff changes to some pretty unpleasant folks working the Saturday later, and I will find pretty much anything else other than this place to frequent. I can go back to getting the OK coffee at Hofmann's chocolates, where they're at least pleasant. It's an exercise studio that has a cafe, coffee place with breakfast, smoothies and lunch sandwiches. They've even added a take out window for the cafe. (Hard to take out exercise bikes). What it seems to lack is some good customer service, and people skills currently. Some training on how to deal with people. Maybe that's why there's a: "we're hiring" sign up. Of course, none of this really happened because it's just a gym, and it is closed, right?
