I chose this Bikes Plus because they had no problem working on bikes they don't sell. Brought my Duotts n26 there for a flat repair and installation of Tannus Armour Tire Liners (obviously an installation that was a bit too late). I also asked if he could check out my throttle which wasn't working. He installed the liners replaced the tubes (needed smaller tubes because of liners) and checked the throttle which he couldn't repair because it was defective (Duotts has finally agreed to replace the defective throttle). He also fixed an issue I had with my bike rack. On a funny side note, when I originally looked at reviews of bike repair shops, the number one repair shop in the Stuart area by far was the Palm city bike repair shop. Unfortunately, it showed that this shop was out of business. And so I settled on Jensen Beach shop. Little did I know that the owner of the Jensen Beach shop it was the same owner of the Palm city shop who closed that location and opened up the Jensen Beach shop. So I ended up with the shop I wanted all along. Bottom line would I recommend this shop? Absolutely! This is one of the few "Repair" shops versus "we service the bikes we sell only" shops in the area. The owner is great. He does great work. I would highly recommend him. read more

The guy was awesome, straight shooter, told me Specialized now makes you order online. Not his fault -- he handled it like a pro -- but come on, what happened to supporting your local shop? Bikes Plus in Jensen Beach is a great place to find a new bike. SCW and I did just that when we were looking for bikes a while ago. We'd seen the signs for the store for a long time and finally stopped in. We didn't know exactly what kind of bikes we wanted but we did our research, asked questions and found our bikes. Both ended up to be Specialized brand, hybrids, which at the time they didn't have the one I wanted and ordered it from a nearby store. SCW got hers right away. I've been happy with the service as we've taken our bikes back a few times over the years for service. They are knowledgeable about their bikes and offer many used bikes depending on the time of year. You can also rent bikes here, however we never have. Be patient in the Covid-19 era as it is a small shop and they only allow 2 people at a time inside. read more

Brought my bike in to get fixed. Its 20 years old, has been professionally maintained through its life. Its had a lot of use and had some wear. I decided to have the entire drivetrain replaced. When I got the bike back, I could not select all the front sprockets. In fact, the bike wanted to jump out of either sprocket 3 or 2 depending on which gear the bike was in. I took the bike back and got the following excuses. 1) The book said the bike should take a 28 tooth gear. The bike was all original and had 32 teeth. 2) "Ah, its good enough, you really don't need the first sprocket 3) I could put a shim in to make it work 4) I had a really hard time getting parts for this bike 5) Maybe the selector mechanism should be replaced (maybe?) 6) Yea, I can see, the cable is loose (it wasn't noticed before?) 7) Probably other things that I cannot remember I was very careful NOT to write this review until I tried to fix the problem myself. Well, can you guess? I was able to fix the issue. I simply put the chain on the first sprocket. I loosened the cable and the fine adjusters. I put the selector on position 1. I reset the cable. I took the bike out for a ride. Adjusted the fine adjusters a couple of times and the bike is as good as it was prior to "getting it fixed". The estimate given was $200 - $225. The final price was $272. Just giving you the facts folks. If the bike had been flawless and only worked on the second and third sprocket, I would have been satisfied. However, as stated above, it wanted to jump off either of those sprockets depending on which gear you selected. Almost unusable. I will not be returning to Bikes Plus. I wanted to add to this review. I've seen other bike shops state that a bike is some kind of Chinese knock-off brand and you kind of get what you pay for, thus I could not fix your bike review response. The bike is a well-known quality brand and not some cheap knock-off. It was American made and is highly desirable due to its quality. The "they do not make them this way anymore" thing. Tried calling several time but they didn't answer and there was no way to leave a message. We stopped in as that seems to be the only way to communicate with this store. We were interested in renting bikes for the day. They have about 10 bikes to rent, ranging from one road bike and one hybrids to several beach cruisers. Rental price is reasonable, $20 per day for the beach cruisers and $25 for a hybrid. They also have helmets to rent. read more

I originally went in because of a flat tire on my bike. I was told the tire was dry rotted and they recommended a new tire. I agreed and got the new tube and tire mounted. Put it on my bike and the tire immediately went flat. Brought it back and was told it was the rim strip. Charged for another tube. Brought this one home and road less than two miles and flat again. Another trip another tube. New tube popped while in transport ( never made it on bike). They finally asked if I wanted an upgraded tube. Another 17 dollars. Now I'm up to 4 trips and over 100 dollars to get a flat fixed. My wife's tire went flat and I brought it in. Would have that I'd learned. New tube and install 26 bucks. She rides it less than 2 miles and flat again. Bring back and the whole need a new tire scam starts ( tire is less than a year old and may have 100 miles on it). Leave it there and voice my disappointment. Come back to get it and they charge me another 27 dollars for the upgraded tube. Again voice my disappointment in the products and their customer service pretty much told tough luck. Buyer beware they are scamming people with crap tubes and charging them multiple times Never again. read more
