Our family took a stroll downtown and my little boy decided to ride his bicycle. On our journey the training wheel on his bike got a little loose and wobbly. My Husband tightened it with his fingers, but it needed just a final turn with a wrench. I brightened when I saw Bike Stuff as I was certain we could pop in and someone could easily just tighten that one screw on a training wheel. We walked in and my Husband politely asked and was sternly rebuffed. This person was extremely busy and we would have to make an appointment. SERIOUSLY? You cannot be kind and take 30 seconds to make a little boys day? I even had my wallet in hand prepared to tip $20. Both my Husband and myself have bikes we have been looking to have serviced. We didn't want to have to drive to Nevada City, and Bike Stuff is right around the corner from us. HARD PASS. The gruff attitude and the "too busy" to tighten a screw is not the type of business we look to support. A little kindness would have secured customers for life. read more

Yup, Aaron is the guy. Totally styled me out. it took a few weeks, and came in a few bucks over the original approximated quote, but man, he's awesome. Replaced all kinds of stuff that was old and tired with new and used parts he had in his store, saving me tons, but still ensuring quality. Can't recommend him more highly. I had to take my bike in for an emergency repair. A main piece broke off and Bike Stuff was literally just right there. I am struggling right now with mental illness and money and Aaron is probably the only person I have met recently that is excellent at at least appearing to look past my outer issues. I decided since he was reasonably helpful in getting me back out on the road, that for my next service I would try Bike Stuff again. Even better service the second and third times. The man is salt of the earth goodness. He kept the cost down for me with little personal judgment, and was decent with me about my paranoia and anxiety. Great little shop to grab all the essentials! I stopped in for a chain and lock. Owner actually went in the back and grabbed me one of his personal ones for $5.00!!!! What! I brought my Giant mountain bike here for the first time and I wasnt impressed at all. The owner is a bullshitter.....I wanted a full tune-up as well as my front disc brake to be looked at as it was rubbing as I drove the bike. I think i was charged around $68 and I was called 2-3 days later and was told it was done. I came to the shop, he told me he didnt work on it but his employee did. Also told me the bike was under warranty and needed a part that wouldnt cost me anything and hed call me in a few days when he had the part to put on. Never called me and my bike was not tuned up properly.....it was actually worse then when I first brought it in.....gear wires were completely loose and the bike was terrible when changing gears. I had to adjust it myself. The owner isnt very friendly, terrible customer service, work ethic and attitude. GO ELSEWHERE. read more

When you only ride a bike, having a bike repair guy within walking distance is essential. And this particular bike repair guy is seriously the best. His work is exacting in its perfection, he can adjust the focus of the repairs depending on the way you use your bike, and he can figure out what angle to take with his repairs with only a brief and casual conversation. read more
