My friend brought me to Bike Hut on Sun to fix my e-bike break pads. I found out that this place is REALLY a Gem for bikers who are not handy, especially new bikers like me. Michael provided me an outstanding service, not only did he fixed my e-bike, he went the whole nine yards to clean up the dusty chain. He showed me step by step how to problem shoot the same issue should it happen again. The most surprising part was that he charged me inexpensively. I would recommend Bike Hut to any of my friends who need honest & genuine service for bikes repairing. I will definitely come back to buy a regular bike from him (looks like they have huge selection) when I am ready to conquer the road conditions of S.F. Thx Michael! You are the best!!! Happy New Year.

The Bike Hut is a great place to rent bikes. They have quality mountain bikes and are very affordable. The man working there was very helpful. He even loaned us bike locks, helmets and gave us water bottles for are trip. I would definitely recommend renting bikes from the Bike Hut.

Today, was my first visit to The Bike Hut but it definitely won't be my last. Located at Pier 40 (South Beach Harbor) on the Embarcadero is a literal hut, painted yellow with a large sign that says The Bike Hut. Great thing about this location is that parking is available if your traveling from a distance and need to transport your bicycle via car. It's a fairly large parking lot with over thirty (30) available spaces. The Bike Hut is open Wednesday - Sunday from 10 am - 5 pm normally, but the adjusted hours due to COVID-19 is now Wednesday - Sunday from 12 pm (noon) - 5 pm. It's best to call first! The repair technician can provide a heads up on how busy they are. When I took my Pure Fix bike to be fixed because of a busted inter-tube, the repair technician told me specially when to come. In addition to repairing bicycles, The Bike Hut has a 501(c)3 Non Profit youth training and recycling program. This is a great opportunity to give back or donate gently used / wear bicycles. It's only fitting that The Bike Hut offers "bicycle rentals, sales, and repairs." Lastly, the best thing about The Bike Hut is that they accept "commuter checks," for payment. I had a great experience and would highly recommend.

My family rents bikes here every time we visit the city. Parking is a breeze and it's a very fun ride from here to the Golden Gate Bridge. Harrowing, but a great time for a bunch of teens. Price is fair for sure. Bikes are like new. The process is quick and painless to rent and return - no lengthy contracts. Thanks!!

Super cheap rentals, nice and laid back service. I borrowed some bikes here a few months ago and it was hilarious. Guy was like "keep 'em till tomorrow if you want" no IDing, no down payment, no credit cards, just a quick borrow and easy return. Sure the bikes were nothing to be proud of - essentially beaters. But the location, cost, and service means I'd happily rent here again.

Is this place good for bike accesories? I'm looking for a wall mounted bike rack to store my bike in my tiny but expensive apartment...

We don't have any wall-mounted racks at this time. We do have one ceiling-mounted gizmo that has ropes to lift your bike. Your landlord probably wouldn't approve though.

They sell a kinda of curated goods from a small selection of tools, lubricants, snacks, and gear. I bought some very well fitted gloves there. What really impressed me was the way they operated the store. It got busy at one point and chilled out... then it got busy again, and they did not miss a beat! But on top of all of that, they were servicing bikes that had appointments or walked in, all at the same time! I was able to bring my bike in, but I also saw they had those bike repair racks in the front and back of the store - they're not playing around. I saw someone walk in with their bike listing off a bunch of stuff he wanted to look into fixing, and the staff person in the front immediately threw it on the repair rack and said 'let's take a look'. They also have this roller situation setup in the front where they can take your bike and run it in place to show what it does while in motion. This place means business and they are super friendly! I wish I had something like this closer to home, this store is doing a service to their local community.

My dog was still in the stroller, and I asked multiple times whether I should remove her. I was concerned about the weight on the tires and bearings while he was servicing it, and my dog was visibly uncomfortable with him lifting the stroller while she was inside. He picked up the stroller several times by the front wheel, which seemed awkward at the time. As soon as I left, I realized the front swivel wheel was no longer functioning properly. It now defaults to facing backwards (180°), and the tire rubs against the swivel with every turn. This made it extremely difficult to get my dog home, especially because she has mobility issues. The stroller is not a luxury item for us -- it's something I rely on every single day for my dog, groceries, laundry, and basic errands. When I told my son what happened, he mentioned that he had a similar experience at the same shop a couple of weeks ago. He and a friend brought in a bike with a brake issue. The shop offered to help and didn't charge them, but whatever was done made the bike worse. Sending a kid out with a bike in worse condition than it came in is a safety issue, especially since my son recently had a serious fall due to a mechanical problem. I understand that Spokeasy didn't charge us for these services, but free work still needs to be safe and competent. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. For these reasons, I can only give Spokeasy one star.
