All of your vintage Christmas dreams will come true at Once Upon A Time Antiques! This tiny shop is…read morecrammed with all kinds of curious finds, from toys throughout the ages to holiday treasures, with the exception of the oh-so-elusive vintage Halloween decorations (they do have a stand of repro postcards). But if it's Christmas that you're looking for, Christmas you will get. So impressive, from completely intact boxes of tiny glass ornaments to 1950s Santas and reindeer. Also, their antique Easter offerings are legit. Although jam-packed with stuff (little to no furniture, it's all knick-knacks, I believe), so much so that it's hard to take it all in, I think even Marie Kondo herself would find immense joy in something here. Note: as others mention, this store is way more organized and all items are clean and seem to be in good condition (unlike some of the other shops on the block). Definitely worth a stop in on your Main Street stroll!

I didn't hang around too long- but long enough to notice the nice service, front of the house with costume jewelry, cool knick-knacks on left. Said my goodbyes and left. But rare finds they are......I just don't want to break the bank either.

Ellen and Gary, who run the place, are artists as well as sellers, and are always so pleasant and helpful. Vintage and modern craft and sewing items, mannequins, and even, for years, a full sized, fortune telling, Coney Island type, animatronic machine. And if they don't have it this week, try next week.

Came by here towards the end of our day of "antiquing" in Cold Spring. Having gone to several…read morestores to just browse around, we came here with the same idea. Overall, when you go to multiple stores like these they all tend to appear similar, but what set this place apart was the proprietor. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and sold us on a beautiful old mirror we were evaluating. His knowledge and experience were vast and he was able to thoroughly explain to us everything about this particular piece (timeframe, where it came from, where he came across it, and how he restored the back part for hanging purposes). His prices are also reasonable and if you're interested, he's willing to help push you out of the "maybe" category and into the "buy" with regards to the price Plenty of fantastic items to choose from ranging From old knives (army style) to old pieces of furniture (my wife is still thinking about going back for a rocking chair). This place isn't as big and doesn't have as many items as some of the other shops but it does some nice quality looking stuff and an owner willing to take time to explain it to you (didn't encounter that at many stores)

My wife likes unique estate/vintage pieces, which can be difficult to find, and even harder to value. The gentleman that helped me out was quite knowledgable, patient and fair. I had no ideas in mind, but he spent some time with me to show me all sorts of options, and was patient and not at all hard-selling. I felt like it was OK if I took his time and didn't end up buying anything. He spent time educating me on what makes certain pieces more valuable than others. I did end up purchasing two pieces from them, and was very happy with both the quality and the price. You get a great value here, and professional help. They have a great inventory of both new and antique jewelry. I believe they will also make customized jewelry too. My colleague, who is very knowledgable on jewelry (who wasn't looking to buy anything), was impressed with the values on some peices that I was looking at and actually bought a few items as well. I will certainly make regular stops to this jewelry store when I am in the area, and will consider driving up from NJ on special occasions when I need to find a unique gift. I was also surprised by the negative review, as I was satisfied enough to go on this site to give them a good review, which I typically do not do. This store has been added to my short list of quality, fair, knowledgable and patient jewelers, that I will continue to be a patron. I have already recommended this store to a friend.
