It's all Greek but it has some cool hipstery kind of items as well like wooden sunglasses and watches nice Sandals and really inexpensive jewelery. My son loves these chocolate wafers that are from greece and I pick them up in Astoria all the time so it was cool to find them there as well! They are beautifully crafted and light as a feather. I bought some lemon filled cookies for my mom and she was crazy about them. I imagine they didn't last 24 hours in her house. The owner of Chickadee Antiques and Jewelry was one of them. Sadly, I have to leave a bad review about her nasty behavior on that Sunday. I have been looking at this big carousel for a while and it is broken. They did not fix it and is charging $189 for it. I just walked in and out since my stroller did not fit on the hallway. On my way out she said wait just 1 minute so I can show you, I believe I still have it. I said I have to go but she insisted and I walked right back in again. Then, she came with the carousel with the music box disconnected from it. It looked worse then it did years ago. She said right away, you can have it for $90 CASH ONLY. You have been coming here for a while looking at this so take it for $90 CASH ONLY. I said no thanks, I need to think, I did not find somebody that will fix it yet. Wow, the atmosphere got heavy at that second, she was beyond nasty. She just said WELL, THAT'S IT....NO MORE DEAL....NO MORE $90 CASH and walked away like an immature lady avoiding eye contact. I could not believe it. How can you be nasty and walk away? Were you afraid of what I had to say after your nasty attittude? So, dear Chickadee Antiques and Jewelery owner, I hope this review help others customers to AVOID your store. Unfortunately, you did not ruin my Sunday. I am glad I walk out of your store without buying that broken carousel. There is tons of antiques store everywhere for me to walk in as many times as I want. Remember this: I AM THE CUSTOMER! You will never get a PENNY from me, nor will I waste my time walking in your store anymore. Make sure, you post on your door, you dislike customers that visit your store many times throughout the year and do not give you a DIME. I did not ask you to go get the carousel. I only asked if you had sold it. The choice was yours to pick up and show it again. Maybe your antipathy and nasty attitude scare the hell of customers. That carousel is sitting on your self for years and I wonder why you are still in business. You are not the only antique store in Cold Spring. Lastly, I believe in KARMA! Needed some gifts for my 5 year old niece and this spot was perfect plus they have small cute gift…read moreitems. Mostly eco-friendly and made in the USA good quality products. The owner Fran and brother Steve are sweet, kind and helpful. I bought stuff for my niece (chalkboard crayon, dough, reusable stickers, watercolor paint set, felt carry tote) and then myself (beautiful wooden coaster puzzles, small maple wood cutting board, wood night light). I also went back in b/c my husband wanted to speak to Steve who's a also a Veteran and got wooden lego builder w/ colored pencils which I think I'll keep for myself, haha! I wanted to buy some wooden earrings and essential oil therapy dough but had to stay within budget lol. Well we come around at least once a month so will get it next time!

I went back to Michael a few times because I didn't like the fit and they were so accommodating. I liked and trusted Michael so much that I took my grandmother's ring to them to get it reshaped. Walking around after a hike and a meal, we came across Cold Spring Antique Center. I have a wide…read morearray of antiques living in an older Victorian home, and always love to pop into spots to see what I can add to my collections. This particular spot had a wide variety of items. I found many items I was interested in, and then I came across a Steiff Hand puppet hedgehog. It was not in the best condition, but once I saw it, I could not get it out of my head. By far the cutest little find to add to my Steiff collection! I can't wait to go back and see what new finds they may have!
