I have been meaning to write this review for a while. Do not go here. I am not one to complain on…read morepublic review sites, but my experience was so bad that I hope I can save at least a few people the trouble. I took a dress here to get altered for a black tie wedding, and when I went to pick it up, she had completely ruined it. The dress was unwearable. There was a keyhole opening on the chest that was crooked, and the nipple seams were 2 inches or more above where they were supposed to be. After I brought this to her attention, she told me it was unfixable. I asked for my money for the tailoring back (as at this point the cost of the dress to me was a sunk cost), and she got extremely upset with me, saying over and over again, "no, i fixed it". At the end, she shoved (literally shoved, she did not hand it to me, it was very aggressive) $30 my way, even though I paid $70, and shouted what I can only assume was an expletive at me as I left because it was clear she wasn't going to fix my dress or give me my money back. Save yourself the frustration, the money, and the dress.

I originally thought I just needed the bust taken in but the owner helped me fit it better by raising the waist area and suggestion I also take that area in as well. I was surprised how quickly she was able to get it done, as there was a corset, buttons and zipper involved. I brought it in on a Saturday afternoon and she had it done by Wednesday after. It really fit me very well and I couldn't even tell where it had been altered, it was seamless! She quoted me $92 which I think is pretty fair given the amount of complexity in the bodice of the dress. My fiancé has come here before to get his pants hemmed and it has always been extremely fast and good value. Last time his cost $15, so I would say more than acceptable pricing.

I did a double-take at the price when billed -- $18 per shirt --, but the shirts were already pinned up by that point. I went ahead with the order, somewhat disgruntled. On the designated pick-up day two weeks later, I went back to the shop at 4:30 p.m.. Only four of the shirts were done, and I could see someone in the back working on a fifth. The seamstress from before apologized and told me to come back at 6:30 p.m. This miffed me a little (is their schedule so solid they cannot complete orders sooner than day-of?), but it was not a major inconvenience. I came back two hours later and collected the shirts. I do not have much experience with tailors, but the handiwork on the shirts seems exemplary. From my limited knowledge of tailoring, to slim a shirt most tailors will "dart" the garment by adding two seams at the back. The seamstress at King's Tailor used the existing side seams to slim the shirt, no darts needed. Again, working from limited knowledge, I believe this is a more skilled and labor-intensive way of slimming the shirt. The construction looks solid, although not enough time has passed to tell for certain. I suspect that the shirts were lightly-pressed somewhere along the way because, suspiciously, they came back with fewer wrinkles than they had at the beginning. If you add up these positive touches, the (considerable!) extra expense may be justified. Bottom Line: King's Tailor was a bit pricier than I had bargained for, but the results are superb. Judging from an earlier negative review and my minor inconvenience, the staff may have trouble managing their workload. Perhaps that is a positive thing, as it implies happy repeat customers, and lots of them. I was treated well, and would return if I wanted high-quality tailoring for an expensive garment.

I had taken my running jacket in since my zipper had come off and I was told that the zipper could be fixed. I left the jacket and when I came back the top part of the zipper track where a plastic cap was located was ripped off and the zipper track was messed up and she told me that the jacket could not be fixed (per pictures). The zipper track was fine when I took the jacket in and only the zipper had come off. She literally destroyed my relatively new jacket and did not fix my problem and did not even tell me she altered the jacket in attempt to fix it. I wish she would have been upfront about not being able to fix my jacket versus further wrecking it and leaving it unrepairable. I will not be coming back

Great customer service & good quality work. Last time I…read morewalked into their shop, I brought in a garment that needed a simple stitch repair along with a pair of pants which needed the length brought up. I handed the woman my repair alteration before stepping into the fitting room to put the pants on so they could mark them. I fully expected to leave the repair alteration with them for a few days along with the pants, but I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped back out of the fitting room area because the woman handed me back my garment with the stitch repair completed & did not charge me for it. I've also had more complicated alterations done to a wool coat & trust them with my garments. I also appreciate their follow up to make sure that their tailoring was done to my satisfaction after I've taken them home.

Let me tell you something, A LOT of the time, business owners/managers see reviews and NEVER respond to them. This reach out speaks VOLUMES to the integrity of this business. That means alot to me! The next time I need an alteration, I WILL give Red Carpet Tailor ago! I walked into Red Carpet Tailor on Douglas Monday morning needing a simple side slit extension. The lady behind the counter was very nice. However, I am very shocked at the price tag for this alteration. Literally, extending an already existing slit in a Chef coat by 3" on each side should not cost $50.16! I could understand if I was needing same day service, but I asked to pick it up in 4 days. To add insult to injury, the coat wasn't even steamed for the price paid. Disappointed
