Went here for lunch and the food was pretty good. It did take a little time for the food during lunch I noticed so don't be in a hurry. I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was solid! Buddy got the cuban and he was not impressed. I was not impressed when i got the bill and noticed that they charged me for water .25 and then charged me another .50 for lemons for my water LOL. Oh well, maybe he should have told me that ahead of time so that i could decide to pay up for tea or soda. That is the first time ever that i have been charged for cup o water. read more

I would've very easily rated this place a 5 star if it were not for the super duper SALTY pork skins and fries. We were just driving by and Yelp pointed us here. I ordered the Cajun shrimp poboy (with pork skin), and my kids had the cheeseburger (with fries) and plain hotdog (with fries). My hubby got some sort of a beef sandwich (with onion rings). Everyone's complaint were the very salty fries. And it's too bad because it could've been really good fries (texture-wise). The general ambiance is great though. It looks like a go-to place for locals and tourists alike. The general vibe is pretty chill for a small town. There's lots of kids and that's always a good sign telling me this general area is kid-friendly. read more

Fantastic place enjoys a great sandwich and side. Everything was in my Togo bag. Folks were courteous and helped me load my order. Definitely a go to destination read more

Got off the beaten path today while in Batesville looking for somewhere other than our usual eating spots. So glad we made found our way to Bigs. The etoffee was phenomenal! Obviously cooked by someone who knows about the Cajun trinity. It was perfectly seasoned. The crawfish were plentiful and flavorful as well. Another one of our party had the Reuben, which was also put together well with the perfect combination of sauerkraut, thousand island, Swiss and meat. We were greeted with a warm welcome and sat immediately. Our young waiter gave 100%. He was attentive and was able to answer all our questions. Kudos to him! We are already looking forward to our next visit to Batesville. read more

Been here quite a few times because they are one of the few restaurants that have gf buns. Sat there for over an hour waiting for our food and never got it, finally asked and the kitchen lost the ticket read more

Bigs was a BIG disappointment. We were trying to support the small businesses in this Covid time. The food was flavorless and cold. We are there as a family of 6, everyone was very grossed out. We didn't even finish our food and that is a rare thing when I have 4 boys. But it was that bad. I even had to get everyone at our table our own refills. We r from out of town and in our opinion that is unacceptable. read more

Being from out of town, we searched online for a great hamburger restaurant and found Bigs listed first in Batesville, so we decided to try it. They close at 3:00 pm on Wednesdays and we arrived at 2:10 pm. They have a good variety of options on the menu but we came for the burgers, so we both ordered the Old Fashioned Cheeseburger with fries and a beverage. Prices are over $12 for a burger and fries and with that in mind, we expected a really good burger. Sadly, both our burgers were over cooked and dry. The hamburger patties are hand pressed but small, more like a kid's size burger. If the cook had not pressed all the juices out of the burger when they were cooking it, it could have had more flavor. One of the burgers had way too much mayonnaise on it. I would have rated this place one star however, the homemade French fries were good, hence, they get one more star. The atmosphere is really lacking and needs refreshing. Seriously, it's just not worth $32 for two small burgers with fries and a beverage. Try something else. read more

It was a nice addition to downtown. Great atmosphere. I felt the prices were a little high for sandwiches. Lunch for two was $24 with both getting sandwiches and soft drinks. Still great food, and the staff is friendly. We will go again, just not too often. read more

This place is WHY I use Yelp! So glad I found it...such a cute place, friendly staff. Love the concept: walk in, someone takes your drink order and gives you your drink, order your food and pay, then go to the kitchen counter and pick it up when they call your name (ie. "Reuben for Velma!") And it was the best Reuben I've ever had. Ever. Hands down. They apparently cooked the meat and the sauerkraut together, so every bite was perfectly proportioned (and that's important...) Oh! And the fries are legit, real, fresh-cut potatoes like your mom would make. Such a great experience. Not disappointed at all...would absolutely recommend and return. read more

Wonderful food and great customer service located in a beautiful small downtown area! Would highly recommend this place!

We visited this restaurant based on the awesome Yelp reviews because our sons were playing against Lyon college today. What an awesome restaurant! I had the turkey sandwich and my husband had the patty melt--both hit the spot for an awesome lunch! The town is charming and the owner Sherry was very hospitable. People make a difference and at this restaurant, everyone was gracious and personable. We will be back again in two years when our teams meet again in Batesville! read more

Great food! Weekly specials are very tasty. Regular menu has large variety of sandwiches, wraps, soup, and salads. Good atmosphere!

Big's of Batesville The Amazing Little Hometown Burger Shop This is a great little restaurant located on the corner of Central Avenue and Main street. The building once housed an Army & Navy surplus store and before prohibition had a bar in the basement. The two story building has a very large vintage Coca-Cola mural painted on the Central Ave side, you can't miss it. You typically walk up to the register, place your order, seat yourself and someone brings your order. If you skip the register and sit down, someone will come along and take your order! When your done, you head up to the register, tally up and you are on your way. They seem to be doing things right, they have a POS that generates tickets and the communication is very good between front and back of house. My favorite is the California burger with egg. The fries are hand-cut, made on location and never frozen, each meal comes with a very generous portion of the fries that are cooked to perfection. The deserts are made in house. Definitely the best burger in town. In this Town, the service and quality of food from the staff at Big's is unmatched. Best place in town, hands down. This is the kind of place that deserves your business, because they are doing everything right! Pro: Great food, friendly staff, and an attractive place to eat at. Reasonable prices. Establishment maintains a high state of cleanliness. Con: No Beer Parking may be limited workdays read more

Ordered the Beverly and added pastrami on jalapeno cornbread with cajun fries. I did expect more meat but that's probably because I'm used to Texas portions, especially when adding extra meat. But overall very delicious, enjoyed the Cajun fries, which remind me of Five Guys' and service was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely stop here again the next time I'm in the area. read more

Nice gem of a find. Service incredible. Everyone happy with their meal, from 2 year old to 70 year old. The onion rings were good, but the fried pickles were AMAZING. It pains me to return to my previous 5 star review of Bigs to edit it to 2 stars. I'm not sure what happened, possibly an off day. Previously this was the friendliest, welcoming and best Reuben i've had anywhere in the world. This past time, new owners or managers, the Reuben, atmosphere and service was.....meh. The reuben barely had any corned beef (where previously it was a short mountain, properly chopped, not slices), cheese not melted and I'm not sure even had any dressing. 2 Rueben's, water and Tip at $20 I would expect it to at least hold up to the sandwich I've previously experienced and dreamed of from Bigs. read more

I would give no stars if I could. I have always went here and loved the restaurant. I made a to go order and was told it would be ready in 10-15 minutes at the most. An hour later, still no food so I gave them a call. They informed me my food had not been made, and hadn't even been started yet. It had been an hour at that point. They said they could start it (an hour after I should have already received it, let alone it be made). I told them I should have a refund after waiting so long for food. They then told me they would refund me and I would not be getting the food I had waited an hour on. Awful establishment. 10/10 would NOT recommend !!! read more

(Late review, we were there mid-January 2020)... We had been driving for a while. We were not hungry. We were HANGRY. I was searching online for a place to eat and finally came across Big's. I was like, "This sounds fine. I'm starving. Feed me before I murder you." AND... Oh my goodness, I would come here every day if wasn't a 3 hour drive from home! My husband had the Beverly sandwich and loved it. I had the Beverly salad and I can honestly say it was the BEST salad I've ever had. Ever. I am trying to stick to an extremely low carb diet, so I didn't eat the croutons, but they did look amazing. I must also brag on the pork rinds!! Ranch and sriracha flavor?? Oh, yes!! I really can't say enough good things about this lil place. read more

This was a great find! Original style sandwiches and very friendly service. Even with a member or two on the service staff, they made sure to take care of each and every customer in the building. The food was a different take on sandwiches and the "PJ's Favorites" I went with was packed flavor and the home style fries were perfection. Will absolutely visit this place again and tell anyone passing through to give it a try! read more

We tried this shop because it had good reviews and was near or destination while on business. The variety of food was good. However, it was $30 for 2 sodas, 2 greasy burgers and a cup of soup. That's with no wait staff and small portions! We never have to do that again. Also, no one knew how much the special was. Unprofessional! read more

I had an EXCELLENT Russian Pastrami sandwich! Definitely the place to stop for lunch or a casual dinner in Batesville!

The food is OK... It's not exceptional but it's not great either. The building is small and the two times I've been there I've waited quite some time for a seat. The food is a bit pricy too.
