After spending a 1500.00 to have my boat repaired. the first time that I went to use it the power tilt would not go down. I brought it by and asked him to take a look at it and the owner immediately got defensive and argumentative and wouldn't even take a look at it. I was told to take it elsewhere to have work done on it. He said that the boat was junk and shouldn't be used. Funny he didn't say the same when he was able to replace an outdrive. I had never had any issues other that the power tilt not working, which he was supposed to repair. Bottom line, find somewhere else to take your boat for repairs, this place does not stand behind it's work. Not a good experience. We brought in a small boat motor to get tuned up In May. It took over a month and we had to call more than once to see what was up and how much it would be. Problem after problem. Instead of telling us the motor wasn't worth fixing, we paid over $300 to fix it. We could have just bought a new one. I wasn't really happy with what we got. sorry. read more

I like to wait on reviews until the work is proven and Bill and DJ (I think DJ) have proved to me that they know their craft. Until they worked on my boat I didn't realize how much better it could run. The boat is 25 years old and now runs like it is out of the wrapper new. My family and I couldn't be happier. I brought the boat to them during the busy season he told me it would be a couple of weeks before he could get to it. His time frame was almost spot on and had me back on the water with plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the summer. I was just looking up their phone number to schedule a pick up of our boat after winter storage and saw one review that was not a good one. I was outraged, to be honest and decided to write my own review, taking the time out of my life to do so. We have done business with Biggart for several years and have had nothing but great service and knowledge. I note Julie H. wrote her review in December. Well, most marina people take time off around the holidays and in winter months as they work so much in the summer when the rest of us are frolicking on the lakes. Biggart tells you that he is unavailable for the month of January, especially, as he and his family vacation then, when things are not busy. At any rate, we restored an old 1957 boat and we were hoping that our old motor could be spared, we did not protest when we were billed for some hours of work on the old motor as they HAD to do things to test the motor and their time is worth something. We could have insisted that it be fixed, but we were honestly told that it was not going to be in good running condition for long. We chose to scrap the old motor and Biggart assisted us in finding a new motor for our boat and also putting a device on it to adapt a longer shank to the boat. They installed it perfectly and we had absolutely no trouble or problems. They have winter stored our new boats for us and they have done a fabulous job, they even built it's own wooden frame so that shrink wrap is put on top well and there are no gullies where water comes in. They store our batteries, marked with our names on them, for us and re-install them. They have winterized the engines and done it right. The boats have been available when we asked them to be and we always get phone calls back when we leave messages. i don't know what this one person expects, but I feel Biggarts has performed above and beyond all expectations, politely and well done each time. Years of business connections and honesty are what draws us back to them again and again. Guess there is always one sour grapes person out there, but I highly recommend them without question. read more
