after reading CONRAD R.'s review about how crowded the CLAIREMONT MESA event was (yesterday in real…read moretime), we moved back our 2 pm ETA. got there a little before noon after grabbing some extra ATM cash. we were early enough that parking wasn't a big problem -- hard to say how tough finding a place got for folks arriving late. thought BOOMER's did a pretty good job keeping things organized. trash cans were full by 2:00 pm and there weren't separate containers for recyclables. a little troubling since they were selling COKE products (for $3) and water in plastic bottles. the bathrooms got pretty scruffy but i would guess they were stretched to the max staffing wise. good flow of information over the PA system (like when they opened up the dining area in KIDOPOLIS so we had a place to sit). ate till we were stuffed (will review the food trucks individually) and played a round of miniature golf with the credit vouchers for the $5 admittance fee. oh, and i'm not saying there were a lot of YELPERS there but every time i turned around somebody was whipping out their cell phone camera and posing with their lunch. we got there early, left late and had a great time !!!!

great idea... the $5 cover charge is basically a game token for usage at boomers. i hope it comes…read moreback but i was disappointed with the selections to be honest. i wasn't too crazy about the centralized drink system but i guess boomers needed to make a profit too. whatevers. it was a bummer that majority of the trucks had ran out of food due to majority of the trucks shelling out their dishes the days before at other boomers. But hello, there is a costco across the street. I'm sure you could've found some more stuff there!!!! Needs more seating but solid effort.

We enjoy going to this festival and buy great buys every year…read more Parking is always a nightmare. We know that going in. Plan to walk, a lot. If disabled then bring helpers because it's crowded and you gotta go a far distance. Melanie's Collectables 760-218-8992 Handmade hats, tye dye clothing. Got 4 $20 tie dye dresses WITH POCKETS one year and this last year same vendor had a super cool tie dye button up I got. $25 bucks! Thank you for keeping decent prices. Daughter got a faded stressed shirt that is so soft. My tie dye button up is even softer cotton. Seriously it's my most comfortable shirt. And the dresses get compliments every time I wear them and I wear them A LOT. so thank you!!!!!! The macarons (sp?) Matched my nails! How fun!!!! And more importantly delicious!!! Also decent priced at $2.50. 3D printer guy was nice and informative. Son got a huge T. rex and daughter got a block fidget thing. Shroom pants were expensive but they are expensive every place I've seen them. Daughter loves them. Me too! Didnt see anything worth eating. Just the colorful treats. That's it.

Over the years we've come to the strawberry festival and we tend to come a little later in the day…read more& after the run event takes place. But how fun for those who do participate in that part of the event. I'd have to say this year they had a fantastic turnout, from the marketing, and the business being true to the strawberry theme. Being that the majority of the business, that had a pop up there, had some sort of strawberry something or other to be sold. Many people came in theme too ~~ with their very creative outfits. I especially loved that! And if you didn't come in theme you had lots of options to buy something and join in on the berry fun of it all. You can see in the photos that I posted just some of the things that we enjoyed. I like to sample and then circle back to buy if I can't stop thinking about something I spotted or tried. We took some cards and also followed some on their social medias in order to revisit supporting them at a later date. *Only qualm is people's impatience and driving erratically nearby & the fight or flight mode that kicks in because of issues with getting just the right parking spot. And one that's close enough to the event no less! We finally did get good parking karma tho. My Goodness! Overall it was a great event. It checked my boxes...if it has...Good food, Company, and Live music. I'm in!
