Got a plain brat and a cup (not a bottle) of water. Brat was $7 and he still charged me for the cup of water.

Fast, friendly, clean and delicious. What a great stop!…read more We drove in town for the holidays and got in a bit late so we are just tired and wanted something fast. Well I'm glad we stopped here. I love it! My jalapeño burger is perfectly spicy. The chili cheese fries are great. My daughter is usually picky about chicken tenders but she likes them and of course she loves her dirt and worms cup. The girls at the front were very friendly and the food came out fast. The tables were all clean. I have no complaints. Definitely will be a go to stop when we come into town again.

On the way back from Louisville my 15 year old son wanted to eat hear based on what he heard about it. I figured it wouldn't hurt me to try it either. The food was really good! I got #1 combo-double meat burger with cheese lettuce onion pickle. I loved how they did the pickle slices. I liked how thin the burgers were. I don't typically eat fries either, but these shoestring style were good. My son got a bacon cheeseburger and he loved his as well. For desert I tried a chocolate milk shake and my son had a brownie concrete. I have never had such a chocolate experience. After trying one of their shakes I don't know how anyone could have one from McDonald's. Now, it will probably be months before I come here again or I may never, just because I don't regularly consume this type of fare, but it gets a 10/10 for me and for sure would eat this before McDonald's or Burger King or any other fast food! The service was relatively quick around 12:30pm on Wednesday. The drive thru line was long so we went in and there wasn't a wait. We had to wait a little bit for our ice cream but I understand that is due to how they make it. The staff was friendly and I liked the interior. I noticed an electric outlet at each booth and they had custard in a freezer to go. They have outdoor seating which looked nice too.

When we confirmed with the waitress it did have that ingredient, the waitress shrugged and said sorry while walking away. It was a skillet so there was no picking around anything. We sat at the bar because it was still pretty packed. The place was fun - the service was a bit silly in a good way. Great cocktails. Great ambiance and decor. My bourbon-grilled pork chops were fantastic. Good cornbread. Green beans were fantastic. The fried apples were just okay - a bit on the dry side. My friend's chicken and waffles looked amazing. Another friend's ribeye looked a bit overdone to me, but he seemed to like it. I wish the souvenir store was still open when we were there (it closed at 6pm) because I would have liked to bring home a trinket or shirt. Maybe upon next visit - because I will definitely eat here again the next time I'm in Bardstown. Make it a priority to stop in!

The wife and I were craving some ice cream. We have been going to Bill Wally's but they haven't had…read morea very good selection lately. Baskin Robbins had recently done a major renovation so we thought we'd give it a try. The location was in really bad shape before and had a horrible reputation. The visit was quite comical. We noticed the nice shiny new ice creams cases. But while we were waiting, an employee was already having trouble with one, as the glass lid wasn't closing properly as it was going cockeyed. Another employee comes over and closes it, commenting that it is a piece of garbage. He went back to scooping form the case on the other side. He was wearing a headset for the drive thru. It broke while he was scooping ice cream. The big padded earpiece went INTO THE ICE CREAM. No big deal. He just took it out and kept scooping. I ordered a chocolate malt. I watched the other guy make it and there was no malt mix used. He handed it to me and I asked if there was malt mix in it as I couldn't taste it. He replied with "malt?" He had no idea what it was. The guy with the broken headset spoke up and said they haven't taught malts yet. So he told the guy where the malt mix was and how much to add. Since I had already taken a sip they remade it from scratch. While he waited for the SINGLE blender in the place, the girl using the blender was complaining about it not working so headset guy comes over, takes the blender off the base, bangs it on the counter a few times and puts it back on. This is NEW equipment. The woman in line in front of me had a QR code from the app for a BOGO Sundae. The store has no QR code scanner yet. Headset guy, which I figured was the manager at this point, had to stop what he was doing and apply the discount manually in the register. The whole time my wife, who already has her ice cream, is noticing customers in line leaving because they had been waiting so long. The malt I finally received was the runniest malt I've ever had. My wife was nearly done with her double scoop by the time I got it. New, but faulty equipment, untrained employees, poor product quality and long wait times. Needless to say this wasn't what we expected from a fully renovated location that had been open for 2-3 weeks now. The manager was very nice, and he dealt professionally with the other workers and was patient with them as well. All the workers were very nice as well despite not having proper training. That's about the only positive from the visit. We will stick with Big Wally's going forward.

The ambiance was wonderful for a date...dimly lit, seated off in a corner, and history all around. We were seated quickly and met by the friendliest server we had on this trip. We had the catfish and Cornish hen and both were wonderful! The house made chips that came with the catfish were better than could have been imagined. We wrapped thermal up with house made cheesecake and it didn't disappoint either! I would highly recommend Toogie's if you are in Bardstown!

Hubby's family had been and had emphatically recommended it. This plus the great reviews and awesome looking pictures had us very excited. We started with the country ham hush puppies, the Caesar, and the mac and cheese. The salad and mac and cheese were alright, but we were really trying to mental gymnastics our way into believing that the hush puppies were great. For my entree, nothing was especially calling my name, so I settled on the gnocchi with added chicken. It was a very meh dish, and the chicken seemed like it was just added thoughtlessly, as opposed to pairing with the dish harmoniously. My husband got the catfish, which he said was fine. Aunt got the meatloaf, which was also fine but nothing to write home about either. The real winners were the little cousins who got burgers. These were simple but not bad by any means. The locale is really beautiful and definitely worthy of a special occasion. Love the two levels and the elevated tavern feel. The staff was great and super helpful and friendly. Overall, we likely won't be back, as we feel we can get a comparable experience elsewhere for the price, with likely better food. But go see for yourself! The menu looks like it changes, maybe we came at an off season.
