Rowlett’s Milkhouse Creamery - Ice cream flavors July 2025

Rowlett’s Milkhouse Creamery

Rowlett's is a fantastic place - a true creamery! They have the best ice cream around which is…read moremade from milk produced by dairy cattle on their old family farm. They carry a slew of other dairy products such as cheese and butter. Flavors of ice cream vary as well as store hours based on the season. I believe their facebook page gives the most reliable source for hours, typically 11-9 through the summer. Staff is always super friendly, typically you'll just see Mrs. Rowlett making and serving ice cream while her brother is busy with the various cheeses and butter. Prices are sure to not break the bank and will certainly yield more than a few smiling faces indulging in such wonderful products. Craving more than a scoop or two? Well they've got half gallons ready to go home with you currently priced $12/each. My kids say Rowlett's is the best and I wholeheartedly agree!

I promise you, you've never tasted anything close to the coffee ice cream at Rowlett's Milkhouse Creamery. You'll thank me later. I took advantage of this beautiful fall day to drive to Campbellsvirg in Henry County and see this place for myself. Our office gets special treats on birthdays and I got to enjoy the coffee ice cream and I was in love. The texture was like silk on your tongue. The hint of coffee was just enough to fit through the sweetness to make it out of this world divine!!!!! So I'll shut my piehole about the coffee ice cream and talk about the other things Rowlett's has to offer. They have a large variety of cheeses, ice creams, ice creams and butter. I was looking forward to buying some butter for the banana bread I'm getting ready to make; however, they were sold out. Oh well, i'll have to make another trip there I guess. This business is locally owned by brother and sister Terry and Sharon Rowlett. I had the pleasure of meeting Sharon when I visited today and she was as nice as she could be. This is most definitely worth the drive and a great way to support local business. Y'all gotta make the trip. You won't regret it.

I reviewed this little restaurant a few years ago, as I am seeker of the best simple but made right ham & cheese sandwiches, as I travel the country. 5 Broke girls wins every time. The ham is perfect, the cheese is melted on a butter toasted bun...add a lot of mayo...Ahhh, a masterpiece. As for their hand battered onion rings... my wife raved about, and although I'm not an onion ring guy, Wow, I ate these...Delicious! And finally the Texas size chicken fried steak. My son loved it, said the best he'd ever had. But warning...let me emphasize TEXAS SIZE! The plate was big, and this thing hung off the sides. Don't miss this place. It's just off the Horse Cave exit (in town) of I-65. It's my HAM & CHEESE MUST DO (and eat, of course)!

The entry way has two screen doors that that make a fuss when moved. There was a small hand written sign to seat yourself and that "it's not fast food, it's made to order to it will take a while." When we sat down, myself, sister, newborn, 2yr old, and 2 older children, the waitress though seeming put off, brought a round of water for the table. When she returned, I let her know we wanted an app. She audibly sighed and grunted. She did the same when we ordered our meal. She also talked to my sister like she was ignorant while ordering and paying. It was peculiar. We got fried pickles, fried mushrooms, wings, burgers, chicken tenders. All were spot on. The burgers were amazing. The food was spectacular. I will definitely return there when back in town, I come once or twice a year. The other staff were smiley and went out of their way to be kind. The waitress with dark PURPLE hair was just having a bad day hopefully because she was hateful.
