Then I found out I would get a raffle entry with donating ten cans of food. I was sad to see so few towing food with them to donate. Walking up and being handed a gorgeous glass of rose was pretty amazing. It was so wonderful having people rushing to great each person leading them in. I was glad I got there early so getting around was far easier. The drive up is a bit long, steep and gravel. I did not use it but a member later showed me the commode trailer as I was taking a snap shot since I laughed at the 'luxury toilet' label. They are air conditioned and definitely quite a step up from a blue box situation. For the event I was able to try 2 types of pinot noir, their sparkling and their chardonnay. Delicious and I was in shock to adore their chardonnay because that is not a wine I enjoy often. The food was also lovely. I was a bit surprised as to how many children were present as even the popcorn seemed not something children would enjoy. The grounds are also very adult with gorgeous views but with lots of gravel around, the kids were running through the tents since there was no where else to be.

Some review called it claustrophobic but I think the dark imagery is part of a wine maker's M-O (like a cellar) Wine was good. They also serve you affogato or expresso at the end of your visit. What a great touch. The exterior view of the valley is spectacular. Everything you would want to see when you imagine wineries and wine making. (ps- this valley is famous for its Pinots)

I highly recommend either starting or ending your day there by visiting the gift shop, trying the various olive oils (with olives they grow there! Fun fact: the arbequina is what Salt & Straw uses in their olive oil ice cream) and vinegars. They have unique seasonings and salts and tons of lovely dish wares. You can even visit the nursery portion and take home your own olive tree! 10/10 experience every single time and the membership is totally worth it! Plus they're dog friendly!

Knudsen Vineyards was one of the most meaningful winery experiences I've ever had…read more Our visit went far beyond an incredible wine tasting. We had the opportunity to spend time with Page Knudsen Cowles, whose family helped establish Oregon as one of the world's premier wine regions. She shared the history of her family's vineyard, the realities of running a multi generational business, and how they continue to honor her parents' legacy while moving the winery forward. One of my favorite moments was ending our visit with a private lunch in the beautiful cabin her father built for her mother, a place that now welcomes wine club members. Sitting there while hearing their family's story made us feel like we had been invited into something very special. Between the breathtaking vineyard views, wonderful wines, warm hospitality, yoga overlooking the vines, hiking the property, and the incredible personal stories, this was so much more than a winery visit. It was an experience I'll never forget.

We were greeted by the host who was friendly and gave us a sample as we found our seat on the patio. The patio is fabulous with a beautiful view of the area. We decided not to do a tasting because we wanted to try their Pinot Noir so we each got a glass of a different Pinot and settled in the shade and Beaty with some Oregon grown hazelnuts. The 2022 Backstory was a beautiful and bolder Pinot which I love. It turned out to be my favorite Pinot tasted on our trip. Additionally the host was knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. I like going to wineries where you learn about the wine you are drinking and that was definitely the case here. When I'm back in the area, I will head here first. And we also got the lowdown on the membership!

My mother and I had the opportunity to do a tasting flight. The wines were all good and enjoyable. Ian was our host, and I absolutely loved him. He sat with us for most of the tasting giving us information about the winery, wines, and background. He listened to our stories and shared his experiences in the wine world. By the end of the tasting, I felt like I was with a good friend. The winery itself is very cozy. We sat on a very comfortable couch surrounded by rich imperial forest green walls that mixed well with the woodland decor and Christmas lights. This is the best time to experience the winery. Tastings are $30 or $35 but are refunded with a two bottle purchase. I was hosted a complimentary tasting through a special Facebook offering this month. I would definitely visit here again. This place definitely sparked holiday magic.

It was such a fun, educational experience. Right when we left our van our hostess had 4 ice cold glasses of white wine for us to try. Then we headed upstairs where we tried 4 wines from different AVAs and a special reserve. Ended up with 2 bottles for $105, so some of the best wine we had and at some of the cheapest prices I spent. Great experience and would be so fun to do a wine dinner there, or some other educational event.

He gave us an inside look at what goes into making exceptional wine, and I walked away with a completely different appreciation for the craft. He explained that every bottle is really a series of intentional decisions, beginning with the forests that produce the oak for the barrels, continuing through the vineyard, and ending with the countless choices a winemaker makes along the way. It was fascinating to realize that great wine isn't accidental. It's built through thousands of thoughtful decisions. The tasting itself was exceptional, the setting was beautiful, and the hospitality made us feel like welcomed guests rather than tourists. I left with some fantastic bottles, but more importantly, with a new appreciation for everything that happens before a bottle ever reaches the table.
