It's been a long time since we've stayed at the Landing. Has been rebuilt a couple times and is a…read morevery nice setting. We had a King room that was roomy and comfortable with parking nearby. Great view of the Current River. Bed was comfortable and room location was pretty quiet, surprisingly. Only downsides were the A/C was noisy and the faux wood floors were being cleaned with some product that made them kinda sticky. We liked the Kuerig coffee maker in the room along with the nice size fridge. Check in experience was good too with friendly staff. We made reservations with a phone call and all went to expectation. Their restaurant onsite is The Blue Heron and it was good as well. Overall we had a good experience and will likely stay again.

Pros: modern, spacious rooms (incl. suites), mini-refrig, some with microwave, no bugs/spiders,…read morelink-up with float services, private river-front gravel bar, Jingles-the-Friendly-Siamese cat (loves kids), friendly staff, on-site good restaurant (evening only), comfortable mattresses, big balconies with Adirondack chairs, OK convenience store, AT&T reception very good, only partial river view from some rooms. For addicts, booze and pot close by. Cons: typical noisy blowy HVac wall units, no house phone in rooms, no luggage help, walk to Rose Cliff Lodge for ice, no cooking or fires allowed anywhere, max. 2-story walk ups depending on room (no elevators), pricey, noise from big rigs on Hwy 60 bridge (less noise in River Center), no house computer, no playground/River here a bit fast for younger kids to play in. The biggest problem with this otherwise quality property was (officially anyway) a "no cancellation/refund/credit" policy. They don't charge your card until you check in, so it is unclear how rigidly enforced this policy is (+ there's a $15 cancel fee per room/day). We got flooded out over July 2025 weekend (Park Service closes the river if it gets over 6 feet - follow this on NOAA website/river level Van Buren MO). We elected to stay regardless (kids are more flexible and inventive than adults!) The Landing is highly dependent on the weather and have a limited season, so they really can't insure your stay. Still, they should have an official credit option for a future stay credit. In Van Buren: "The" Mexican restaurant serves huge good portions. The steaks at the Landing's Blue Heron come out mooing - you may need to have them touched up. Best breakfast is at the Ranch House. No nightlife. In area: Big Spring is spectacular, floating is worth the price, but best in a canoe unless you like cold butt (there's an enormous cave upstream from Van Buren), little funky animal park is pricey but fun for kids. For floating, IMHO the best stretch of the Current is Aker's Ferry to Round Spring, and do it in drought after July 4 for clear water and to minimize deer flies and horse flies.

Beware!!!!! I would not recommend this hotel due to a…read moreserious cleanliness issue. During my stay, I discovered bed bugs in the room. This is unacceptable and created an extremely uncomfortable and stressful experience. I immediately reported it to the front desk, but the response was inadequate and did not resolve the problem. Hotels should prioritize guest safety and hygiene, and unfortunately this property failed to meet even basic standards. I strongly urge management to address this issue properly to prevent other guests from going through the same experience. Tried to speak with the front desk about a partial refund for the 9 hours we were in the room & I was hung up on multiple times.

Really Nice Roadside Motel…read more The first thing you'll notice is how pretty it looks on the outside. In front of all the units are benches or chairs plus small tables. Inside, the unit is decorated by someone who cares about their guests. Comfortable bed, armchair, microwave, and refrigerator make your stay a great place to relax. The bathroom is clean and bright, nicely renovated. The Television works well, although there are no major cable stations. However, there are plenty of good channels to choose from. Charlotte and Donna made me feel like a family member they were actually happy to see. I was having major Rheumatoid flare-ups, and didn't even think to take pictures. I also wasn't up to eating in the restaurant so the Convenience Store just across the road had a wide selection of Hot and Cold meal items for takeout, making it easy to eat in my room.

We stayed here for our 43rd anniversary in august. We brought our own kayaks and had to pay as much…read moreas a rental to have them shuttled. Seems like a lot with the room Rate for a single king. Building was brand new but I wouldn't say it was anything noteworthy. There is one closet but no hangers or hooks anYwhere. One shelf that you can set luggage on. Lamp on side table for seating area was unusable as the chain in the switch was gone. Bedside lamps are absolutely out of reach when you are in bed. Refrigerator is adequate but no freezer. Ice for rooms is located in the gift shop so when they aren't open you are out of luck. Hard floors are great but housekeeping needs to be more thorough in getting the sand up. An outside hose would be great to wash sand off before entering rooms. No rugs anywhere we had to use bath mat to brush feet off before getting in bed. The shower curtain was about two feet too long, which was very annoying the first night, but they did replace it for our second night. Coffee cups were too small to accommodate the Keurig machine so if you don't choose correct amount of water you will have a mess. No phone in the room. Overall, for the price I think they could have had more amenities. Like nicer coffee cups and maybe a couple wine glasses. There were no utensils of any kind.

There was no way to reach anyone so we had to tow the raft the entire trip. We asked for a refund and they refused!!!! They claimed it worked perfectly after they aired it up properly (at the end of our trip!!!) and insinuated I was lying. They offered a gift card instead of doing what's clearly right here and providing a refund. I'm never coming back. You should rent quality gear elsewhere.

This stay was the result of several hours' searching for lodging in the van buren area. my wife…read moreand i are 50 somethings, and rode our gold wing up there. we both have adrenaline filled lives in EMS and wanted a simple relaxing stay, sleep well, float on the river and RELAX. suffice it to say this was NOT the place for much of that. we stayed on a Sunday-Monday counting on most of the rowdies and drunks to be gone, and for the most part they were. Our room ended up being what they call a "studio apartment". basically, a couch, a bed and a cheesy electric cook stove. I suppose if you're an 18 YO with a weekend of sex, alcohol and crazy party in store it would have been perfect. not so much so for us. i specifically said to the lady i called to set up the cabin (and i thought i was getting a cabin...not a duplex)...that i NEEDED level parking NOT on a gravel road. our gold wing is big, heavy, and will NOT be driven on gravel mountain passes or driveways. what we got was a cabin duplex (shared with others) on a hillside...up a gravel road, on a hill. NO level solid parking at all. secondly. room stunk of mildew and mold. bed was atrocious. neither one of us slept a wink in the two night (mandatory 2 day stay) that we were there. shower was gross. my wife didn't even use it. NO WiFi. NO television. i guess you get all your stuff done at the cafe downtown before you come back into the room. once you're there, you're watching each other. there is direct tv...but it is 30 channels of INFO MERCIALS. i guess next time we will be better informed. the sad thing...it is like Lowes. they want you to understand everything from the web site and make decisions based on that. it don't work very well like that either. the phone call didn't even net the results we needed. it was not the worst time...we had a good float...but won't be staying here again. better served for groups of teenagers.
