There's only a handful of stores and a movie theater. The parking lot lines are not set straight and to park anywhere up front is a joke.

Sunset Mall - In what would be a Food Court ~ Sunset Mall

Sunset Mall

Sunset Mall was such a big part of my life when I lived in San Angelo. I was sorry to see that so…read moremany of my favorite stores were no more, but the mall has been updated somewhat and is still quite nice. If you want to shop in San Angelo in the summer without melting away, this is the place to come. I was sad to see how fewer choices there were, though. JC Penney, Dillards and Marshalls are the big anchor stores. There definitely needs to be more food choices (oh, how I missed Karmelkorn from the late 80s!) and some more variety in shopping, but it's a much more comfy way to spend a few hours than driving around, parking, shopping, driving around, parking..... What's disturbing is that so much space has been given over to services like cell phones and military recruiting. Those will not attract high foot traffic, families, teens or even the college crowd. Please, management, add more retail, especially women's clothing. There's an Ulta, but a Sephora would be nice. Upgrade, please! What about adding an ice rink or roller rink?

Since I believe it is the only one in San Angelo I can only be a fan of this place unless I want to…read moredrive what? 3 hours to San Antonio? It has your major staple stores that are anchoring a place along with its usual satellites. The food court can be disappointed since they're only about 2 or 3 would seem like places that are open now but there are some places to eat near this mall. Place seems pretty clean, I'll come back and update this review after a second or third trip here.

Barnes & Nobles Booksellers - 1.4.2026

Barnes & Nobles Booksellers

The Barnes & Nobles Booksellers in Midland, TX was less than flattering…read more I'm not even knocking the fact that it is a single story B&N. On January 4, 2026, my daughters and I shopped here. Their calendar selection was extremely limited. The ones they had were a bit damaged--that is, bent up or partially opened or missing the cellophane wrapping. There were a few sections that needed repairing and or sprucing up. In saying that, the huge children's section was pretty great. The prices were a bit exorbitant compared to Amazon. I resisted buying copies of books I loved that I recently read through my local library. The restrooms were not open. Not sure why. Lastly, there was only one person checking folks out. I even overheard the staff at the resource center discussing this. Glad y'all have one, but there is immense room for improvement.

Okay so here's the thing:…read more Barns N Noble as a company and as a whole are AMAZING, i love Barnes N Noble so this review DOES NOT go for the company, but for the store In Midland, TX Now, the thing about this store is, it is peaceful, it has a great selection for it being a smaller Barnes N Noble but it's the people that work there. I always feel extremely uncomfortable going into this store because the workers are always talking under their selves then looking at people and it makes me wonder "oh man what if they are talking about me?" Sometimes when people will ask about a book they ALWAYS instantly say they don't have it and they will look it up and then continue to say they can order it but it will take a very long time, basically trying to get the person not to order the book. It seems very highschoolish or cliquey if you will. There is only one lady there who has a welcoming smile and expression but it seems like everyone else just wants you gone. It seems like if you come in there just to relax, maybe grab a cup of coffee and read a book or maybe go on your phone or even just walk around they don't consider you someone to even ask "Do you need any help?" I don't know, it's a very off vibe to me. One time I was standing and aisle away from my wife, they offered her help 3 times and literally just looked at me and walked off..... kind of.... Weird? I for the love of God wish I could remember one ladies name that works there cause she has always been so sweet and helpful everytime she sees me and always ask what I'm looking for, even if I just want to get away from the rest of the world. She's the best. All and all this is your run of the mil Barnes N Noble but if you want me to be honest some of the workers look like they should have a change in careers. One time there was a kid who like didn't even pick up one of the workers walkie talkies I think it was and it was laying in the ground and she yelled out super obnoxiously "CAN I HELP YOU SIR??" And the kid was so embarrassed and shook. Like, he's a teenager, it's not like he's stealing from the store. It's just a very off putting vibe in there occasionally but it's still a nice place to shop and relax and grab a cup of coffee unfortunately just not as often anymore since it seems like it's not welcoming occasionally.

Wow. They had all kinds of milk. And some of the milk came from nuts, not just cows. Who ever heard…read moreof a nut milk? How do you go about milking a nut? Do you have to milk the nut every day? Long story short, Walmart should revamp the customer service training and hygiene. As a contractor…read morefor Sam's/Walmart I always emphasize good customer service with efficient and fair pricing. I have shopped at Sam's and Walmart for years and I really understand that with affordable prices, Sam's/Walmart uses affordable labor. With that affordable labor comes challenges. I would like to start with the Automotive department CSR needs to be reassigned. He is a hygiene fail followed by constant challenges from customer requests that are the simplest form. From simple data entry to communication with customers. Not only with myself but my observation with other customers. The automotive technicians need training. From talking to customers to learning to communicate with CSRs on breaks to prevent customers from going elsewhere for service. This would improve customer interaction and drive productivity as well. My personal experience with this store has been below fair. I've been waiting on tires for over a week to find out they have been in for about the same time. I've called and can't get through. Once I get a break to check on status I am told they can install ASAP. Then I get pushback from the techs. This is after I suggest dropping off the following day. I spent another 30min just to find out it's now going to over 2hrs. Thanks Walmart. Now I'm in a great mood arguing with my wife over your staff messing up our Sunday morning and accomplishing nothing with you, on the partial day off that I have.
