I recently attended what was described to me as a "working interview" at this office. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing and unprofessional. I was told I could arrive at 9:00 AM when the office opened. Upon arrival at 9:15 AM, I was immediately told I was late, even though I had been instructed to come "starting at 9 AM." I was also questioned in an unprofessional manner about my attire, despite not being informed beforehand that scrubs were required for the working interview. At no point prior to the interview was compensation discussed, nor were the expectations, duration, or payment terms explained. I was asked to return home to change and come back, without any prior agreement regarding pay or work hours. Later, I was asked to attend another location on a different day for several hours, again without previously discussing compensation details. As a dental assistant with three years of experience, I believe working interviews should be clearly communicated, respectful, and transparent regarding expectations and pay. Professionalism and respect for candidates' time are essential. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect those standards. read more

I do not recommend this dentist be sure and get copies of everything that you signed. They charge $25 simply to email your dental records to another dentist. No other dentists around this area do that I've never felt that my teeth were cleaned properly and there was always somebody different every time I go in I don't like this place I don't have a good feeling about it and I do not recommend it. I've had some bad cavities that formed behind fillings that eventually broke. A few days ago my right molar furthest in the back started hurting severely and by today it was so excruciating I couldn't see straight. I was too scared to go to the dentist but my fiancé wouldn't take no for an answer. We called at 11:10 and they could see me at noon. I needed a root canal and crown on the back tooth and a filling and crown on the one next to it. I was shocked at how gentle and patient Dr Peter Habashy was. He did the first half of the root canal quickly and I was about as comfortable as one could ever be getting a root canal. The office is clean and modern and all the staff are helpful and nice. I need quite a bit of dental work done and Dr. Pete will be doing all of it. read more

I was looking forward to getting teeth cleaned--booked a cleaning, wasted almost 2 hours for them to "up sell" on a deep cleaning. They would not do just a basic cleaning. They took xrays and lost half of them. Very unprofessional and does not care about what the patient asks. I asked the doctor for a basic cleaning and he said he had to go ask his manager and never came back with an answer. Don't waste your time or money! That, is very important to me. Dr. Akel's fees are reasonable and I appreciate his caring attitude. I have visited many times through the years and I have had an excellent experience every time. Dr. Akel and his staff, explained everything, including the cost, clearly prior to the procedures so I felt comfortable enough to move forward. There were no hidden costs or up-charges and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH MY NEW SMILE. I'm happy to say, "I've found my dentist." It's been a couple of years since I set foot in a dentist office. I'm not scared of a dental cleaning, but the 'bedside manner' of the past few dentists I've seen haven't been pleasant. So, when the right-side of my mouth started to ache a bit, I knew it was finally time to find a dentist. My research led me to Big Smile Dentistry. I requested an appointment, the staff phoned me to confirm availability, and then I showed up for X-Rays and to meet my dentist. Everyone was equally as pleasant, kind, and very friendly as the next person (front desk staff, hygienist, and dentist.) I explained I was a scared, nervous wreck when it came to the numbing injections for cavity fillings; they experienced my 'fear tears' and you know what? They were so sweet & made me relax. I overcame my fear with their help and didn't shed any more tears when the filling procedure was being done. Big Smile Dentistry is a bright, happy ray of sunshine amidst the drab, dull previous dentist offices I've been to. The girl that works the front desk is hands down horrible. She's the only one there when I come in but the issues with my appointments are never "her problem" because it wasn't her since she hasn't been there. Office manager is just as bad as she is. I had an appointment scheduled today, received a call confirming. I had a sitter setup, I have to pre-medicate for my appointments & I go in and I'm told they don't have a hygienist in and they left me a voicemail. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me with them & no one within the office wants to take ownership for their scheduling screw ups. Do yourself a favor and found a dentist that can keep their appointments that their staff schedules to avoid inconveniences. read more

The worst dentistry in West Palm Beach. The location itself is esthetically pleasing and the secretarial staff was pleasant, but that is the only point in its favor. The main goal for the staff and the dentist is for them to make money off of you, not to help with your dental health. they charge beforehand because they want to make sure they are payed, regardless if they do their job or not. During my visit, I payed for a "Special" that they had available for 99$ for a basic dental cleaning. After waiting for 45 minutes, even though there were no other patients, I was finally moved to the back. The assistant was rough with me, even when I complained, and it was obvious that he was the only person that wanted to be there less than me. Once the dentist showed up, she refused to do the dental cleaning unless I upgraded the service I was receiving. The cheapest type of cleaning she was willing to do on me was 45$ more. Her reasoning was that my gums had bled a little, but that was caused by the roughness of her assistant. She was not willing to listen to reason or perform the service that I had already payed for. Once I decided that I wanted to leave because I was not paying for the mistakes her assistant performed, they were not willing to give me my full money back. Because of fees that they did not mention and the rough "check up" that the assistant performed, I was charged 70$ and they still did not do the dental cleaning that I had originally payed for. I am writing this so that people wont be duped out of their money, as I was, just because they do not have a good staff. read more
