Took the pub crawl tour bus ride a few weeks ago & had a blast!!! We sat on the 2nd story of the bus so we could enjoy the breeze while working on our tans. LOL The driver and tour guide were super cool & laid back. You can BYOB (cans & plastic) as long as your cooler fits in your lap. The tour guide even brought extra beer for those who ran out or didn't bring their own. As you can probably imagine, everybody was drinking, talking, laughing, & having a good old time for the duration of the 3-hour tour. You meet up @ the Tilted Kilt where you can enjoy happy hour deals before the bus hits the road. During the tour the bus stops @ 3 Irish pubs in the Long Beach/Belmont Shore area. They have drink specials & a small selection of "appetizers" at each stop. The bars should consider serving real appetizers since everybody was so drunk. Most of us were in dire need of something fried, fatty, & full of carbs to soak up some of the liquor. Wheee! :-D Overall, we had a blast! You get your drink on without having to drive; enjoy the fresh air while simultaneously working on your tan; make new friends; and don't have to go too far from home. I had booked a Sunday fun day pub crawl for two on August 12th 2018 I tried reaching out calling and emailing them to let them know I will not be able to make it. I was unable to get a hold of anyone over the phone left a voicemail still have received no response I also emailed them to see how to cancel or re book and this morning I receive an email from them stating they were happy to have me join them Sunday when I never went!! So they got my money I never went and they are never able to respond. Unfortunately I had a huge family emergency it is just unacceptable that I am never able to get a hold I received a response from The big res bus on my post up top to email him (James), I waited a week and until this day I still got no response, I stated on my email that before I sent the email 15minutes before one I had called number ours times a couple hours before and left two voicemails the service here is horrible!!! Once again another successful Sunday funday with the big red bus crew. Tyson, Aaron, and Cory were all amazing hosts. My group of 10 people and I had a blast attending this past Sunday 5/28/17 for the pub crawl. My friends told me that they were so glad I set up the event for them because we all had a such a good time with so many good vibes. My friends and I took the tour in early October and it was so much fun! I had some reservations regarding the 30min stay at each pub (there were 3 stops) because I thought it wouldn't be enough time to enjoy but honestly it was just enough to grab a drink, mingle with friends, make a quick restroom break and eat some of the appetizers each pub was offering to anyone on the tour. Love that BRB allowed us to bring our own beer. Overall the tour lasted about 4 hrs. It was pure fun and enjoyment. Most of the time I felt as if I was part of a Big Drunken Parade. The crowd on our bus was loud and friendly. It was a joyride we wont soon forget. We are now planning to take another tour next month and not surprisingly our group has gotten bigger. I had the extreme pleasure of having a surprise birthday planned by my amazing husband back in 2013. We had such a great time that we decided that for his 50th birthday party, we'd rent out the bus again to celebrate. The customer service is outstanding. Everything from the initial discussion of how to plan, to the actual day of is top notch. The bus' seat up to 50 people. I added in an extra hour on top of their usual three and cost was $900, plus tip. Really a great deal when you think about how much is involved. BYOB on the bus. No glass bottles but if you bring plastic cups, they are cool with that. We stopped at three different bars in downtown long beach. All were expecting us and super cool as well. Went for the first time for a birthday event. This was a fun adventure, more than I anticipated. We rode on the upper level and had a blast, should have brought a sweater though, being by the ocean. The Sunday Funday Pub Crawl was so much fun! We took a group of 7 people out for my birthday. We each bought our tickets on Groupon (only $24 per ticket). Each of the pubs provided us with appetizers (loaded steak fries, quesadillas, artichoke dip, chips, etc.) It was actually better than expected! You're allowed to bring 4-cans of beer per person, and many of the bars had discounted shots/drinks when you showed your Big Red Bus wristband. This is for the 2016 route. Admittedly, this is completely underwhelming in almost every way possible. If you purchase a ticket to this experience, it's for two reasons (1) ride on a bus and (2) to see more Christmas lights than I could while walking because that's why I bought a bus ticket. First of all, a majority of the route is spent on back roads in which there are few to no decorated houses. I mean, we pass by the Mattress store at least twice! The only lights we saw were the floating trees for 1 min and then passed by the Naples area bridges for 1 min each as well.... and that's literally it. It was such a bad ride that I asked my husband to drive me to Naples afterwards to walk around and see the lights up close and FOR FREE. Do you know how many people laugh at you while you ride this thing? You know why? It's because they know you can walk to see closes UP CLOSE and for FREE and with festive music and better crowds than this bus. If you paid full price, I feel extra sorry for you. Our driver did not narrate any part of it and there is supposedly a host guy but he never came to the front of the bus. Also, if you sit on the left side of the bus (the driver's left), you don't even get to see the few lighted houses that the right hand side of the bus gets to see. Also, our driver smelled heavily of alcohol and cigarettes. That doesn't reassure me when I see that we are riding in an open sided bus with children. The only great thing about this is the extreme level of preparation. It was very clear with the number of emails and texts where to go and what to wear. Another disappointing thing is the fact that two girls that check you in are not aligned with each other. They were not clear on where the start of the line is so families were standing every which way. read more

Boyfriend & I participated in the Beer Tour- along with 8 other people. We were under the impression that our bus driver was going to share information about the brewery's / about the beer. But he was literally just our driver. He dropped us off and let us do our own thing. We were all pretty lost and confused and one of the breweries didn't know we were coming and didn't know what was a part of our voucher. Thankfully they were really nice and gave us more than what the voucher stated. Recommend if you know about beer/ the kind of beer you like to drink. My husband and I did this for Sunday Funday. The Memorial Day weekend just the two of us. We had such a great time, but we didn't bring our own beer. They have a cooler in the back to keep your drinks cool or you can bring your own. Every place we went to was super fun. The only thing I could complain about was I reserved the top section. The second stop the ppl from down stairs came up taking a few spots from the original ppl. The couple was upset and they did give an attitude which kinda but a bad vibe out. This should have been a fun experience... sadly it was not. They oversold seats on the trolley we went on and my husband was not able to sit by me... he sat behind me not even on an actual seat. Indeed, riding the Big Red Bus makes for one of the finest nights of entertainment one could ever hope for, so long as you surround yourself with the right company. I'd imagine the experience wouldn't be quite so fantastic if you were stuck on a bus with a troop of motion-sick girl scouts and extras from "Sewer: The Musical (in Smell-o-Vision)." Thankfully, I was accompanied on the Big Red Bus by merry-making friends and loved ones. Our entire experience, from initial contact with Peter (the owner/operator of the Big Red Bus company) to planning the route, to the actual execution of the party on Friday night, was smooth and painless. These folks are the utmost professionals at making sure you and yours have the most fun you've ever had on a moving vehicle. It was like a private VIP club on wheels - you get two floors, a bar area, flat-panel tv's, separate sound systems for the top and bottom deck, and a host and driver to ensure all your needs and whims are fulfilled. They definitely deserve every red Yelp star they get, and more. On the other hand, the bar for birthday parties has now been raised so high that this will effectively be my last big bash; only an MTV Super Sweet Sixteen style fete could rival it, and only then if it involved helicopters, 23 ft tall ice sculptures of me, and a live duet performance by Barry Manilow and Rick Astley. Until then though, I will always have the memories of my 30th Birthday Bus Ballyhoo, which was attended by... some people... at which we... drank things... and went places. For a recent birthday, the Big Red Bus was rented out for 4 hours of cruising around Long Beach. You know you are jealous when you see it go by filled with fun party goers all drinking at the top enjoying the hell out of themselves. The guys (the ones you see in the pics posted) are super helpful, tolerant and just want you and your group to have the best time possible. There are even a collection of blankets they put up on the top level if its a little too breezy for you. And you can bring your own alcohol on the bus! Awesomeness! Just when the bus is moving, do all your drinking sitting down.... or like we did we stood up when the light was red. Dance real fast, get a new beer or take a shot FAST. As odd as this might sound, Mike Q.'s birthday bang bus was more or less my first time taking in the sights and sounds of Long Beach. I might have been happy with the tour itself. But, factor in the best people around and copious amounts of alcohol and the sheer awesomeness factor goes through the roof. Did I mention that the drivers wear kilts? KILTS, man! I'm part Scottish and I've never worn a kilt. I should work on that... I could recommend this for almost any event, but especially for large gatherings such as birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc. I couldn't recommend this for high school graduation parties, sweet 16 birthdays, or AA Success Conferences. I had a lot of fun with my family on this bus for Father's Day. If your dad likes beer, this is a great option for him on his special day. The bus picked us up at what used to be Tilted Kilt on PCH and took us to 3 Irish pubs. Food (french fries, quesadillas, etc.) is included at all 3 pubs, but you have to pay for drinks separately. Before drinks, the total cost was $30/person. This was a lot cheaper than other bus brewery tours I researched (although alcohol was included in others). The breeze felt great at the top of the double decker bus on a beautiful summer day. Make sure you bring sunscreen and watch for street signs! One of my favorite parts of the experience was coming home after the last pub; At every red light, we stood up to dance. The hosts were very professional, kind, and conversational as well.
