I was disappointed in the service. We made an apt and dropped off the truck for new tires. We were told it would take 2 hours. We came back 2 hours later and the truck was on the lift and no one around and no one working on it. We finally found someone and asked how long. They said another 30 min to balance the tires (but we could see no tires on the vehicle). I think the experience could be improved if they communicate time honestly and work flow honestly. I would not recommend this business and will look for another place next time. read more

I drove over a pointy screw that made my tire lose pressure. An expensive run-flat tire. Gosh, I thought, what now!? As usually, things like that happen on Friday night. But Sedona Big O Tire is open on Saturdays, which is a good thing. So I drove there at the 7 am opening hour and had it done. Kyle, a relatively new employee, took care of it. He was excellent. I've been seeing a lot of complaints about Big'O'Tires in Sedona lately and thought I would chime in and share my most recent and unfortunate experience with them (prior to being aware of the way they deal with customers and work orders). I placed a formal complaint with both the FTC and the BBB this morning and I invite you to join me if you've also been deceived or been on the receiving end of their lack of ethics, poor work standards, and unethical business practices. Here is a copy of my letter so you may see what I personally experienced in case that's helpful to you and protects you from experiencing a similar misfortune. The more people complain about them, the more likely the FTC is to investigate their practices and business and the more likely they are to bring change to their process. Federal Trade Commission Consumer Response Center 600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20580 Subject: Formal Complaint Against Big O Tires (Sedona, AZ) - Deceptive Practices and Safety Violations Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to file a formal complaint against Big O Tires located in Sedona, Arizona regarding a series of deceptive business practices, safety violations, and misrepresentations that occurred during service on my Tesla vehicle beginning January 16, 2025. INCIDENT DETAILS: On January 16, 2025, my vehicle was towed to the Big O Tires Sedona location with a flat front left tire. Despite informing staff that my vehicle was a Tesla, I was forced to wait three hours only to be told they lacked the proper tires for my vehicle - information that should have been communicated immediately upon arrival. The following violations occurred: 1. Attempted Price Gouging: Staff initially quoted me for their most expensive tires despite availability of appropriate alternatives. I later discovered through local community forums that this location has developed a reputation for such practices since changing ownership. 2. Attempted Fraudulent Billing: When I returned to collect my vehicle, staff attempted to charge me for premium tires I had explicitly declined and that were not installed on my vehicle. 3. Safety Violations: My vehicle was returned with dangerously mismatched tire pressure (33 PSI on the repaired tire versus 42 PSI on others), creating unsafe driving conditions. The tire pressure monitoring system was also not reset and my vehicle was in emergency mode with indicators detecting issues with my tires. 4. Damage Concealment: Most seriously, staff damaged and broke a tire pressure sensor on the right front tire while changing the tires and attempted to conceal this by installing an incompatible replacement part. I later confirmed that an employee (since terminated) had broken the sensor and deliberately misrepresented the situation. 5. Misrepresentation: When I returned regarding these issues, I was falsely told that the sensor malfunction was caused by the original flat tire, which was demonstrably untrue as the damaged sensor was on a different tire. 6. Poor Resolution Attempts: The location manager was dismissive of my concerns, avoided direct communication, and suggested I should personally source and order the replacement parts they had damaged. 7. While they refunded me for a warranty on the tires I had never asked for in the first place and gave me a $100 credit, this doesn't compensate me for my experience and time. REQUESTED REMEDIES: Based on these deceptive practices and safety violations, I request: 1. A full refund for all services performed by Big O Tires Sedona location 2. Investigation into the business practices at this location to protect other consumers This experience created potentially dangerous driving conditions that put my safety at risk. The combination of misrepresentation, attempted overcharging, and concealment of damage represents serious violations of consumer protection laws. When I realized I needed tire repair, I called here simply because it was local. Then, I talked to Michael. He took time to explain what I would need for them to do the job. I was a little apprehensive because the car model, industry standards, and in-house regulations meant needed four new tires. I thought maybe I should change shops. But he day of my appointment I met Amber. She was so helpful and considerate I became more and more confident. Most impressions of tire shops are smells like tires, not too clean, and a few chairs. Instead, this location was fresh, clean and accommodating - for a tire shop. All the myths of a business like this were dispelled. My recent experience with Big O Tires in Sedona was deeply disappointing and unprofessional. Prior to visiting, I called and spoke with "J" to confirm whether an appointment was necessary for a pre-road trip inspection. I was told it wasn't, so I brought my vehicle in. Upon arrival, however, I was abruptly informed that I did need an appointment. The interaction felt dismissive and condescending, which was particularly frustrating since I had called ahead specifically to avoid this issue. "J" briefly glanced at my car and claimed my tires "needed replacing because they were old." This statement was absurd, as the tires have fewer than 3,000 miles on them and still have visible vent spews ("tire whiskers")--clear evidence of minimal wear. It's unfortunate to discover that customer loyalty and respectful service seem to hold little value here. All they wanted was for me to buy new tires. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

If I could give negative stars for the customer service (especially from the manager, Sarah!), I would! Such a lack of respect and basic communication skills. I was looking for a place to get my car diagnosed for a battery issue, and the manager there (Sarah) left me with a fat diagnostic bill on my tire issues, after receiving no notice that this would happen from the girls at the front desk. When I left a long note explaining the situation with my good friend the night before, they not answering only ignored my note but simply pretended that I had talked to the front desk ladies about the diagnostic price ($184!), but none of them ever gave me a price quote before charging me. She then lied to me repeatedly about reaching out to the manager and getting back to me, but it's been almost two weeks now with no sign of them getting back to me. They want to just brush it under the rug, but I refuse to be played like that. My next step is to get a lawyer to make them admit them and prove they that are engaging fraudant, deceptive, and manipulative gaslighting techniques, and not just refund me but never engage in these practices again. I will now get my friend (the witness) to also leave a review here and on Google, and this will only escalate from here. Mark my words! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS And by the way I'm a Sedona local of over five years but they treated me like just another tourist passing through town. Big mistake on their part! read more

I had purchased Michelin tires 50,000 miles before, more than three years ago from Sedona Big O. When I started losing air in one tire three years later, I took the car to Sedona Big O to see what was up (it was a screw in the tire). It was a free service as I had a tire warranty. While there, the service counter guy came to me and showed a picture of my rear brake pads, said that they were gnarly or some such term, and did I want to replace them while I was there. I believe he said around a thousand dollars for the service. Since I had my receipts with me, I saw that the pads had been replaced 7500 miles before, about five months before by Big O in Colorado, I said I'd wait and see if warranty would cover it. I just returned from a trip to Big O in Colorado, the pads were in great shape, probably a third used. And the Big O in Colorado doesn't charge what I think I was quoted by Sedona Big O. read more

We need to check out of the hotel and drive home tomorrow, and we have no car. They swore it would be fixed yesterday, so we returned the rental. But it wasn't fixed. They never called. The guy we've been dealing with all week is "working from home today" and never called. We are trying to figure out if we can get it towed on a flatbed literally anywhere else to have it ready for us to leave tomorrow. Avoid at all costs. You are better abandoning your car and starting from scratch than going to this place. If you can make it to Cottonwood, I hear there are good places there. I went to Big O in Sedona to order some new tires for my Honda Pilot on August 28, 2025. I had wanted to order Michelin tires but they offered Cooper tires which are good tires so I agreed and also they would have to do a tire alignment, they wanted me to do a fuel system repair, gear oil differential, new spark plugs, fluid flush and tire protection plan. Definitely were pading the bill. I paid a down payment of $1,097. Upon receiving the car...the tires were not Cooper but another off brand Sumitomo. I was not pleased!! I told them I did not want those tires and I wanted Michelin Defender tires. They said they would order them but they wanted the rest of the money which I paid. So now I had paid a total of $2,194.00 Not the tires I wanted and all the other stuff they said my car needed. Everyday I called about the Michelin tires that they said they had ordered. NOTHING was being taken care of. Everyday they said they would be coming in tomorrow...this stretch on for 14 days!!! I finally got the Michelin tires yesterday! Terrible experience. read more

My snowflake Honda from Los Angeles was like "TIRE PRESSURE LOW IN ALL FOUR TIRES" when I visited Sedona in early January. I assumed it was because of the harrowing temp drops overnight, like how dare it dip below 50, but I drove it around town just fine. On the day I had to drive back, though, I decided the long distance was too long of a distance for me to go without making 100% sure that the tires were really fine. So I looked up "Tire Repair," and Big O Tires popped up. When I stopped by, the whole thing was, like, two minutes tops. I drove up. An older gentleman asked what I needed. I told him about the tires and how I'm Californian. He pulled me up to the pump, checked all four tires, put some air back in, and I was back on the road. I really appreciated that. So... I couldn't tell you how this specific Big O Tires does business with the locals, but if I had to base it on my experience getting help, I'd vouch for them. read more

If I could give Brian and this store negative stars, I would. I have a Jeep Gladiator with 40" tires that someone attempted to steal the bead locks off of while parked overnight at a hotel. After briefly talking to Brian, the manager, I took it to Big-0, as it's the only tire shop in the Sedona area. I wait my turn in line and end up working with a rep named Jenny. I tell Jenny what happened and she asks Brian for help and states she's unfamiliar with what to do. Brian instructs the two of us that I'll need to contact the manufacturer of the wheel (KMC) and get the part number along with the torque, pressure, etc. After a minute of staring at each other, I ask him if this is part of his job and why he's asking the customer to look up all of the info that he could grab himself. I assure him verbally that Big-0 pays him a salary for this purpose. He says, "They don't pay me to do that." I say I'm surprised and then assure that he gets paid hourly to help customers out and find this sort of info. He says, "No, they don't pay me to do that." I then look at Jenny and ask her if I'm the crazy one. It was as if my request for Brian was above him. I took matters into my own hands and start calling around. After 25 minutes of talking to different departments at KMC, I end up with the part number and the rep says he can't sell it to my bc I'm an individual. I state that I own my own business and that he could sell it to my LLC. He says he can't do that so I offer to walk back in on speaker phone and have him speak to Brian. The KMC rep says Big-0 can purchase them and have them shipped directly. I walk in on speaker and tell Brian that I have someone with KMC who can tell him the exact info he's requesting. Brian then responds, "I can't talk with him. I would actually have to be the one to call and put the order in." Wait...didn't you just say that I would have to do it, so I did it? But you could have done it all along and chose not to? Brian then responds, "I can't talk with him. I would actually have to be the one to call and put the order in." I walk back outside and the rep tells me where I can order the bolts at a retail store. Jenny then comes out and says, "Hey Brian is on the phone and can do the order now." I walk back inside and Brian completes the order like he could have done the ENTIRE time. And then I return to get my jeep and their shop couldn't fix 3 of the bolts bc they had snapped off. They said they spent hours trying to fix. I took it down the street after paying $240 for bs work. The mechanic down the street who works on off-road vehicles fixed it in ten minutes. read more

Finished hiking for the day and got out to my car and every light was going off. Coolant, oil, etc. I looked up a service facility on YELP and found this location. I pulled in and they were pretty busy with helping people mostly with tire issues, cause it is a tire shop. I told them what was going on and they had me pull my car to their service bay right away. They had a service technician check my car and top off my fluids and I really only needed coolant at that moment. I got the oil change as soon as I got home. I was in and out in maybe $10 minutes. They charged me $5 to top off my coolant and they made sure my service light was not on anymore. I felt so much better knowing that was taken care of. And it didn't ruin my vacation by having to sit around and wait forever! read more

READ MY REVIEW BEFORE GOING HERE This place is honestly so disorganized. I wish I could give them a good review because the service manager was nice to me but here's what happened... I went in to get an oil change before a road trip to California. They said they completed the oil change and so I went off and on my way. Once I got to California my engine started making a loud noise and ended up DYING... when I took it to a mechanic they said that big o never preformed an oil change and "forgot the oil" Thank GOD I had a Toyota and could put oil in it myself which saved the engine. It could have completely destroyed my engine if I drove any other kind of car. When I told big o tires this, they said they'd give me a "free tire rotation" as a compensation for messing my car up. I took it. And then guess what? They lost one of my hub caps during the service LOL. So I had to order ANOTHER ONE... the guy at the front gave me $30 out of his own pocket because he felt so bad for me. I was like what the actual heck guys is anything going on in your brains??? What??? Anyway, it took about a month to resolve both of these situations together. They refunded me for the oil changes and I got my new hub cap. I'd never recommend them to anyone I probably would've done better doing my own dang oil change. Sorry guys I never leave negative reviews but honestly WTF? I got to warn people. read more

I posted 3 stars as it was adequate and average but not especially good. I think some people have great experiences here as there is potential. I know there has been at least one time when my service here was above and beyond, maybe even twice. I remember once with my RV and it made my day much better. This recent time, they forgot to call and also dirtied my car a bit on the inside which wasn't that bad but could have been much better. Definitely plan ahead as they stay busy. It took a full day to get 4 tires swapped out in my car, they did warn me they were extra busy. So not a bad experience recently nor a 5 star experience, but I think it might also be the only option in Sedona. read more

After about an hour of extremely frustrating conversations with another auto parts company, we were connected to Big O Tires and Bryan Furse. Within minutes of stepping through the door, he was calming, informative and quite helpful. He reassured us that he and his team would do their best to get our issue resolved. After only 15 minutes he came back, informed us that not only was my vehicle in good shape, that my battery (which had died earlier) was in GREAT shape. I was at the gas station down the street and I needed air in my tires. The gas station attendant told me to go this tire shop instead. I parked my car near the air pump and the shop was very busy but one of the employees handed me an air gauge and told me I could check my tires myself. My VW Jetta was showing one of the tires was low but actually I needed air in all my tires. The shops air compressor is first rate and it quickly filled my tires, what a difference in the ride performance after filling up. read more

I would give zero stars. I'm unable to give a written review unless I click one star. I had my oil changed here. On December 19, 2022. I live in the Prescott area. On Friday December 23,2022 I noticed a smell of hot or burning oil. I looked through my driver wheel well and noticed it was covered in oil. When I popped the hood, my oil cap was smashed on the radiator and oil was all over the place under the hood. Phil Martinez was the one who helped me. I asked if everything was good to go, he said yes. He showed zero care for what him and his guys had done. All he had to say was, "we make mistakes". read more

While traveling from northern Nevada to Sedona, I thought my Sienna van was making a noise I imagined as a noisy wheel bearing. So I scheduled it into Big O to check it out (since I had successfully used them a couple of years ago to handle an issue with my trailer tire wheels while traveling through). When I went to pick it up (same day), they said they had given it a test drive, put it up on the rack and checked everything that could have possibly been making a noise and found no issues. That was awesome. To my surprise, when they handed me the keys, I asked "what do I owe you" - the reply was "no charge". Wow, that is amazing! I was fully prepared to pay a charge for their diagnosis. So refreshing to find a service shop that is fair and honest. read more

These guys have lost their way for Customer Service with the new management. I brought my car in for a scheduled tire rotation and balancing . I sat outside on a chair for nearly 2 hours waiting and wondering. Finally I went inside to the desk and asked, 'what's up my car hasn't been touched. It's been two hours.' Let me go check he said. Then he comes back and said, I'll bring it around. It's all finished. To which I rebutted and said my car was never touched. I've been sitting here and nobody moved it. He went and brought my car around and showed me a paper that was signed off by tech saying that he finished it . I was beyond horrified. I asked, can I speak to that tech? He said, no, he's on a break . I said, Mr. I swear I've been sitting here and my car never moved . He just stared at me. He stared at me he did not care. He knew he was lying and there was nothing I could do about . Of course, if I was a man, it might've been different. For real . I walked away with no money exchanged. They treated me first class - added coolant to my rental and didn't charge me anything. I greased them, of course, but it was clear that these guys take customer service very seriously. DON'T GO HERE!!!!! I went here on 4/17/24 because my front brakes were grinding. Brian told me I needed all 4 new rotars and 4 new brakes totaling $1,400.00. He then proceeded to inform me about their 0% interest for a year to pay that off. I told him I needed to think about it. He had me wait another 45 minutes supposedly putting my car back together & hoping I changed my mind. When I finally got my keys Brian told me I should have the car towed & should not be driving it. I called my cousin who owns a Ford dealership in Kansas City and he said it would be very strange for a car to need all 8 things at once and if it did it would cost $800.00. I then drove to Jones Ford in the verde valley. I did not share my Big O experience with them. They looked at my car and said I did need two new front rotars & brakes for $440.00 and that my back brakes looked great! They then offered to drive me anywhere I might need to go while they worked on my car. This is my first yelp review because I was almost ripped off $1,000.00 at Big O' Tire in Sedona. If this happened to me then how many people before me have fallen for their dishonesty? Money is tight now for everyone so this makes me sick. Karma is real, Brian.
