The customer had bought a piece of jewelry worth over $5,000 and it didn't fit the person who was to wear it, as it was too small to go around. They brought it in within a few days time to see if it could be exchanged for something that did fit the person. The owner let them know in no uncertain terms that they could not exchange or return it and suggested they gift it to someone else who it would fit (a $5,000 plus fine jewelry gift!) The owner told them they shouldn't have bought the item in the first place (instead of thanking them for shopping with them). It was honestly shocking to me that they were unwilling to find a piece that would fit the person instead. I left the store with a bad taste in my mouth and have no desire to go back to what used to be my favorite store. Just so disappointed and shocked by the experience.

Do NOT make an online order with Scheels... what a freaking nightmare…read more We ordered a $700 item that their website said was "In Stock"... so, to be on the safe side, I called the store to verify that they, in fact, did have that product in stock... the guy I talked to assured me that they did have the item. So, I placed the order...mere minutes after placing the order (paying for the item for store pickup) we received an email saying it was "out of stock" but that they had one at another store that would be shipped to the Wichita store, but would take 7-10 days. Needless to say, we were not happy! 13 days later, the Wichita store FINALLY got this item back in stock (according to their website). So, I called the store again and spoke to an individual who assured me (again) that they did have the item in the store. So, I asked if our existing online order could be filled by the item they currently had in the store...(no brainer, right?). He said, after checking with management, that we would need to cancel our existing order, then they would set the item aside and we could come in, pay for it, and pick it up. Of course, that meant we were at the mercy of their refund process (which took 5 days, btw), so we were out $1400 until they decided to refund our money. We picked up the item later that same day with no more hassle...thank God! Never, ever, again will we make an online order from Scheels... we like the store, but my goodness, for an employee owned company, one would think they would take more pride in their customer service.

I didn't want to break the bank on a dress I'm going to wear for five hours, so I opted to go to DB knowing I wasn't going to get the same experience as a small shop. That being said, the lady who helped me was fantastic, showed me dresses I wanted and brought a couple different styles to try. It was a little cramped since someone had 15 people with her to try on dresses, I hold brought one person, but again it is a larger chain store and it didn't ruin my experience. I walked out of there 2hrs later with a a dress that made me cry and a veil for less than $500 dollars. I had a lovely day and didn't feel pressured. Rock on David's bridal, rock on.

While I was walking by, a private security dog started barking and snarling, and the next thing I know, a private security officer is asking me whether I was carrying any firearms or explosives. (Where exactly I was supposed to have secreted such items while wearing a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, I do not know.) So, first of all, the mall's security dog is flagging visitors for carrying hazardous materials EVEN WHEN THEY ARE NOT. The security system is unreliable. And second, the security dog does not merely make a signal in these circumstances. This dog -- an enormous German Shepherd -- began barking loudly, leaping in the air, and charging at the end of its leash. It was TERRIFYING -- and the dog did this to me twice. All I can say is that I'm thankful I don't have a weak heart. It took a long time to stop shaking. I called the mall manager's office several times, but there was never an answer. No one is keeping watch there, and meanwhile there is a dog terrifying and harassing mall visitors. THIS MALL EMPLOYS A MAN WITH A DOG THAT TERRIFIES PASSERSBY AT RANDOM. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

When you first walk in, the staff are incredibly sweet--almost too sweet. I visited on a tough day and was looking for a little pick-me-up. They encouraged me to try on many outfits and "loved" everything I put on. I ended up buying a pair of super-soft wide-leg jeans for $148--far more than I'd normally spend. They were a bit small, but the staff assured me they'd stretch. Once I got home and tried them with other tops, they looked awful on me and made me feel even worse. Unfortunately, I didn't realize there was only a 7-day return policy. I live 45 minutes away and couldn't get back within that time. When I finally returned two weeks later hoping to exchange them, I was told, "Sorry--you loved them when you left," even though I clearly remember expressing doubt in the store. I understand they're a small local business and need to make money, but treating customers well is how you keep them. The shop does carry many cute things, but the heavy sales tactics and refusal to help after the fact left a bad taste. Sadly, I won't be shopping here again.
