We get up to the register with about 10 of them, excited for our haul. After saying, "saw these were a buck each so we had to get a few" the guy at the register goes "oh...no, thats the old price tags, they are $5 each. Physical media is taking off now" We very dissapointedly left our dvds and exited. Let me just say a few things: As a customer coming into your store to buy 2nd or even 3rd hand dvds in "meh" quality, charging $5 a pop is insane, especially because you can get them brand new from walmart for that price. Next is that to have the audacity to say "I bought these from a reseller" to a customer is just nuts, Its not my business where you get your inventory, the fact that we chose to spend our time enjoying perusing your store going through your acquisitions should be way more than enough. Next up is having pricetags on it and then changing the price at checkout is highly illegal. Under Section 396 of New York State's General Business Law it is illegal for a merchant to charge you a higher price at checkout than what was advertised, displayed, or marked on the item. The state enforces strict truth-in-advertising and transparent pricing rules to protect consumers. Purely based on the young guy's attitude I have filed an official complaint with the NYS attorney general's consumer complaints portal. And finally, above all, good luck selling those, i don't know a single person who would pay more than a buck for a Katherine Heigl movie. Don't shop here.

We purchased the item that we thought they were on sale as the sales tag was right above of it, but the price did not reflect the promotion. The cashier had no idea why the promotion did not kick it and we waited for at least 10 minutes for the store manager to figure out. We were then told that the item we got was not on sale and it was just placed above the price tag by mistake. The store manager did apologize to us though, but the cashier should have been able to figure that out instead of wasting time waiting there. Most items were priced reasonable. I also like the variety of items / sizes they carry. Overall it was an okay experience and I will probably stop by again when I am in town next time.

I stopped in there tonight ten minutes before they closed on my way to pick up my daughter from her job in Kingston after working hours myself and I had to grab something real quick and it was convenient to go in there quick. If you don't want last minute stragglers, then lock the doors at 8:30 if it's such an inconvenience to wait on customers. When I was younger I worked closing shifts in fast food where I had to wait on people at the drive thru and juggle the lobby while trying to close and shut down the frontend and clean bathrooms and I was still pleasant to customers. I'm over trying to go out of my way to be nice and they have officially lost my business which I'm sure they won't care. But, hey, guess what buddies? If you lose enough business the store closes and you lose your job...

I routinely wash the cushion covers in cold water and drape them inside to dry. I've never had a problem with shrinkage. Until this week, I had never washed the slipcover itself. So I called the store beforehand to make sure that washing it would not be a problem. The son of the owner confirmed it was washable and suggested I remove it from the washing machine and fit it back on the sofa while it was still damp. I removed the slipcover, washed it in cold water, removed it immediately from the washer, and tried to put it back on the sofa. It had shrunk by at least 5 inches. I then called the store for some resolution. The owner couldn't have cared less. He was snarky and just kept repeating that nobody had ever had that problem, except for one person a decade ago, who washed it in hot water. I repeated to him that I took extreme care in making sure I washed it in cold water, because I was so concerned about ruining it. Bottom line: he didn't stand by his product. When I purchased the sofa, I needed to find one that would fit through my door at the time. I had wanted to buy an IKEA couch, but it was a little too wide. So I was relieved when I found Saugerties Furniture Mart and they assured me that their sofa would fit. However, I will say that I was put off by the owner's attitude, and I should've trusted my intuition. I had a feeling then that if I ever ran into a problem with the couch, he wouldn't make good on it. Unfortunately, I was right.
