I'm really disappointed with the customer service at Cato. My mom and I went to the dressing rooms…read moreand were told we couldn't try on a bra due to their policy, which we understood. However, the staff repeatedly called it unsanitary and made us feel gross for wanting to try it on. When we checked out, the manager and another associate openly talked about us in front of us, calling us entitled. My mom called them out on their unprofessionalism, and the manager started yelling at her. The manager even said, "I can't believe she wanted to try on a bra that's so gross," then looked my mom in the eye and said, "See, I can carry on my own conversation." My mom pointed out that treating customers this way is unfair and asked how trying on a bra was unsanitary since other big companies allow it. The manager said she orders bras online and never tries them on in-store, returning those that don't fit. This logic makes no sense since returned bras go back to the company and get reused by other buyers. We're not upset about the policy itself but about how we were treated--especially by a manager. This behavior is completely unacceptable, and it's sad because this used to be a store where we felt respected. Keep this in mind if you're considering shopping here.
