He ordered a pair of Ultra's with extra cushion. When they arrived he had a pair of ASICS and a pair of Saucony to compare. I am 70 years old, walk 2 miles a day plus everyday chores. My 17 year old only had $40 (exact amount) in his bank account when we walked into this store…read more... he found a pair of shoes for $49 and I had planned on paying the difference.... when we got up to the counter I advised the clerk, Triston Johnson that we would be paying 2 different ways he said "that's no problem" so I thought we were good. I told him that my son was going to pay $40, even, with his debit card so he punched that in.... after standing there observing him I realized that he was completely clueless on how to handle the transaction! He told my son to insert his debit card and he charged him the $40. He then informed me that the difference was $14 and some change I was prepared to pay the rest but he closed the register drawer and said that he would be right back..... a minute or so later, a lady by the name of Hailey came walking up and took the receipt and stated that she would just "return the shoes and give him his money back". I told her that he used his debit card and that she couldn't just give him his money back, and that $40 is ALL he had. She assured me that he would get his money back, she told me that twice, I asked her if he would get it back right then and there and she said "yes he will". Against my better judgment I let her go ahead and do her thing.... then, just as I suspected, she had him put his card back into the card reader.... I then asked why she made him do that.... she stated that she put it back onto his card... by this time I'm more than angry and very unappreciative of how she tried to insult my intelligence! I asked her AGAIN, why did she tell me that he would get his money back immediately so that he could buy the shoes????!!! She said "he will get his money back depending on his financial institution ". I knew that this was going to happen irregardless of what she said to begin with! I told triston, travis, whatever his name was that if he didnt know how to do the transaction then he should have gone to get someone that did! So there we were, no shoes, and waiting for no telling how long to get my sons money back on his card! He is autistic and intellectually disabled so of course he didnt understand what all was going on! It was very wrong how this was handled! My opinion and we all know about opinions, but I believe that since it was the employees mistake, they should have done more to make it right, right then and there so that we could have gotten the shoes and the store could have made money.... I've put a call into corporate but I know NOTHING will be done about it except MAYBE an apology which is fine but not anywhere near enough! With this being said, I will be blasting this All over social media and everywhere that I can give a review! I will NEVER go back to store #1377 in Smyrna Tennessee! Ever! Every one i know agrees that this store has the worst service. The employees have no personality, a few of them look bothered when you asked them for help. Two of the ladies stand around with thwir arms crossed while your in the store, looks like they are literally in pain when assisting customers. I've had the pleasure of visiting twice now. They sell many great brands, and on both visits, had GREAT sales! I could kick myself for not buying a Kavu bag when it was marked down from $50.00 to $20.00! When I went back, they were all gone! The staff is incredibly friendly. I think I was asked twice on each visit if I needed help with anything. If you're looking for active wear or jackets/coats, you definitely need to check this place out. Last night we were browsing but did not buy anything. There were two cute bulldogs in the store my friend and I stopped to pet, and the guy working seemed nice enough to let us do so. A young girl came over and asked us if she could help us with anything, and I told her we were "just browsing." After a total of about 5 minutes we said, "thank you for letting us look around" and headed for the door so we could get to dinner. Before we left I asked the man if I could "quickly use the ladies room because I'm 7 months pregnant and peeing is like a new hobby." He looked at me with a cold straight face and said, "we do not have a bathroom here and we are closing." As we left, my friend told me she knew exactly where the bathroom was located in the store and we both agreed the man was extremely rude, short with me, and obviously aggravated we didn't buy anything. I understand he probably had to get to his Tinder date or something but as a woman who is 7 months pregnant, having to wait to pee until we drove to the restaurant was very uncomfortable. I was shocked by this mans demeanor and based on principle alone I will never shop at Bink's again. What a jerk.
