It literally was the place to be back in the day. I've seen the changes throughout the years, and I think it's still a great place to hang out. They've remodeled, and there are new stores and restaurants. There aren't many malls in the area now. There were other ones to visit back then, but they're all gone now. So, it's nice to know this one is still standing strong for the community. By the way, there are two Chick-fil-A's in the Mishawaka area. We prefer to come to the one in University Park Mall because it's less busy. Both are busy places, but this one isn't as congested. I'm also glad to see Barnes and Noble in this mall. With many book stores closing, I don't get to find one too often. On the weekends, it's hard to find parking, but honestly, it has been that way since I was growing up.

He carried the rug to the front for check out. When I finished shopping, I had the rug in a cart trying to maneuver through the doors, when the same gentleman walked up - he didn't say a word, he just picked up the rug and carried it out to my truck for me. Their business model is low margins on high volumes. Gabe's attracts about 50% normal customers and about 50% lowest of the low ghetto rats and White trash. They look at an article of clothing and then just throw it down, either on top of the racks without bothering to re-hang it properly or actually down on the floor. On a Saturday you will see DOZENS IF NOT HUNDREDS OF PIECES OF MERCHANDISE JUST THROWN ON THE FLOOR!!! Creating a scene that seems unbelievable that this is a corporate-run retail business! The worst of the customers let their children run wild in the store playing with merchandise, BREAKING MERCHANDISE, and generally acting as though a trip to the store is their substitute for not being able to afford Disney World or Chuckie Cheese. The children and the parents both act as though they have had no decent upbringing or learned social skills. And YES, this does pertain to a review about Gabe's because this is the atmosphere of the store if you decide to shop there. Much of the chaos stems from poor management. The will even sell BROKEN OR OTHERWISE DAMAGED MERCHANDISE just to get SOMETHING, ANYTHING out of it!!!...and this may or MAY NOT be clearly labeled as damaged. Like the old saying goes, the fish always rots from the head down. The employees are over-worked and stressed-out to the point of not caring. If all JC Penney sent the clothes that they couldn't sell to 2 or 3 JCPenneys, and then those sent the clothes they couldn't sell to this JCPenneys that might be close to what we're looking at.... We personally ended up here because we wsnted to go to the music store in the same area but they were closed.  So here we are bargain hunting at Bargain Zone.  It's like an oversized dollar store with things that arent just a dollar.  I love the bulk sizes and reasonable prices. The employees are pretty cool.  Similar to most places they could use more people on staff but it really wasnt a hassle to find an employee.  I will definitely be back.
