The mall itself is clean and well-maintained with no weird smells or anything like that. It seems like the stores themselves are well-managed as well. They seem to keep their stock up to date and organized. The food court is disappointing with not a lot of options at all. The options that are there aren't great but, again, keep in mind where you are. The vendors are annoying and will come up to you and offer shoe cleanings and samples but if you tell them "no" most of them will just back off. The parking lot feels packed and a bit claustrophobic but it's not a huge deal.

This JCPenney could do much better…read more It's located on the northwest side of the Midland Park Mall in Midland, TX. The customer service was 4 stars on July 25, 2026. The ladies at the register nearest the parking lot were welcoming and friendly, but one of them rounded up my overall amount due for their foundation. She said "oops" when it happened. At that point I didn't want to be douche-baggish and request my change back. I guess that's a good tactic for racking in change for a "good cause" even though I don't know what the cause really was. But there was one employee who would just walk around and say, "Let us know if we can help you find anything." It became a bit robotic and insincere as she folded clothes back into their places and never looked up at anyone as she spoke. Very odd. The biggest issue I had was with the dressing rooms. They have signs pointing to an area that used to be a set of dressing rooms, but no longer exists. I guess. I mean I don't know if they were there before. The signs lead to a wall. The other issue was the lack of cleanliness throughout the entire store. Don't get me started on the chaotic mess inside each dressing room. Hopefully it was only due to it being "back-to-school shopping." Though we found something she liked, the store left a bit to be desired. Of all the dressing rooms in the store there appeared to be only two open. One we found (closest to where we were standing and easier for my 80 year old stepmother to walk to) and one much further away (we never saw) that the one employee we found directed us to. The dressing room left quite a bit to be desired. The first room I walked into was not at all pleasant looking and to say it smelled like a bathroom that needed some cleaning is not at all off base. I closed the door to that particular room and directed my stepmom across to the opposite dressing room in the same space. While she tried on her free selections I looked around a tiny bit. Another dressing room looked like someone had smeared a mysterious sundering on the mirror. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd come back to the particular store without being asked for a specific reason.
