Nice selection and everything is organized and presented with care. The furniture seemed really…read morewell priced and in good condition, unfortunately I don't live nearby or else I would've bought a couch I saw. The clothes were cool, lots of shoes. I also found some treasures in the home goods section. They have a pretty good selection of formal dresses from the 80s to current. I definitely snagged a couple to try to sew into some sort of costume. The staff were really friendly and so were the other customers. A really nice experience!

Deciding to stop at Sloan's Thrift after a short visit about a year ago, we were surprised to see…read morethis store mostly empty. They are closing at the end of April, 2024 and moving across the street according to a post on their Facebook page. There are still a few pieces of furniture deeply discounted (bookshelves for $25.00), a couple racks of clothes and some kitchen items, hangers, toys still for sale but beware... the offerings are exceptionally few. The shop is nearly empty, and the staff seem preoccupied enough to even notice you are there. From Sloan's Thrift Facebook page: Exciting News! Sloans thrift will be closing its doors and relocating across the street to its new location next to the new Planet Fitness (old rite aid location or for better clarity, near Ollie's. This move is already in process. Even thought the idea saddens us, we are looking forward to a bigger location. The plan is to close up last week in April and reopen May1st. More updates will come as things progress but just remember now Bristol will have 2 great thrifts stores in one great location!

Interesting store.... definitely a mix of unsold Target products, possibly Amazon, Dollar Tree and…read morewho knows what else. You'll find everything from a plethora of nail polish colors, to Target linens, to cleaning products to fake trees. Just purely random. Some stuff was priced very well and had deep discounts, others, not so much. The clothing racks were pretty funny - hundreds of plain white polo shirts, hundreds of green polo shirts. Again, random. Worth wandering around for an hour. They actually give you a Target reusable bag for free to bring home your purchases.

Stopped by today looking for rugs. They have a fantastic deal, $40 for any size. The problem is…read morethat the rugs are stacked 10-12 high on carts. I spent a long time trying to pull one towards the bottom out only to realize it was the wrong size. When I found another I had no energy left and Two employees offered to help me. Gavin and Joe worked together to get to the bottom of the stack. There are really a lot of great rugs here but the way they are being stored really made it hard for everyone to look through. This is definitely a great spot to grab health and beauty supplies. They had Native products for $3 which is about 75% off regular pricing. They also have a lot of clothes, but no fitting rooms and a no returns policy. All clothing items are $3 each or $25 for 20 pieces which is crazy! They also have lots of Amazon return bins filled with random stuff that sell for 2 for $5. Lots of outdoor furniture options, toys and baby supplies. This is a fun spot to bargain hunt on a rainy day. Expect a long line but it's well worth it and every employee was super helpful.

I simply love great rare books, collections of ephemera, and places that make you feel at home -- you get all this and more, here. Walk-ins aren't welcome just yet, so please call for an appointment, but once you visit it may become a routine like it has for so many others.. At the shop you'll find: over 60,000 items, specializing in 19th and 18th c. illustrated books, chromolithos, Philadelphiana, rare anthropology, early hermeneutics, Natural history, first editions, signed items, Beat lit, '60's material, unusual occult, erotica and esoterica. We have a vast collection of ephemera, art work (steel engravings, pouchoir, collotype), movie posters (of the 1940's - 50's) and a mass of important 19th c. bound periodicals (Oology to Archeology, Mathematics, Botany, Knitting), and 20th c. Art journals, Italian Fascist publications, etc., culled from Walter J. Johnson's liquidation, as well as a collection rare jazz records. And much more, just ask. Dave has been in business for twenty-five years in the incarnations of David L. Miller Rare Books, The Book Merchants, the Philadelphia's Riverside Book Fair and 30th Street Station Book Fair. In 1991 we purchased the business, name and stock of Samuel Kleinman's legendary Schuylkill Book and Curio Shop of 4207 Lancaster Ave., Phila. PA.
